MISLED
Special Task Force agent Derek Atkinson has a craving for luscious vampire Sable Taylor. But Sable's a bounty hunter, which makes him direct competition in the capture of wanted criminals. Despite the obvious attraction between them, she won't give him a chance and after two years, he's tired of waiting for her to come around. So he's got a plan to give them both what they want... each other.

Sable's on a dangerous mission. She's not who Derek thinks she is, so anything personal just isn't possible. But like most master vampires, Derek's wily and used to having his way. When he traps her on his ship, she decides to indulge. Two straight days of mind-blowing sex should be enough, but it isn't, not for either of them. Her heart is involved now, but Sable can't let Derek get too close. If he finds out what she's doing, he'll never forgive her.

Derek, however, refuses to let go. Now he's getting shot at and asking questions she shouldn't answer. Sable has to reveal the truth... Derek's love has been misled...

KISS OF THE NIGHT
Special Task Force agent Alexei Night has had a crush on Interstellar Council Representative Briana Michaels ever since the first time he saw her on the vid comm. But their lives are worlds apart. He's a vampire. She's not. There's no possibility of a relationship between them. Yet he still dreams of her...

When Briana's unpopular position supporting vampiric rights threatens her family, Alex leaps at the chance to protect her and be with her. It's a two-week journey to her homeworld, and he'll spend it making love with the woman he can't keep, trying to get enough of her to last an eternity. Their erotic connection is easily established but their bond doesn't overshadow the danger surrounding Briana.

A hopeless romance with a woman whose mortal life is threatened... Things can't get any worse for Alex. And then somehow...they do.

Stories were weak, but good if you're in the mood for erotica.

The first story “Misled” was not that great. Heavy emphasis on sex. Not much plot or character development. The plot was about one undercover agent going after bad guys. She meets another undercover agent also going after bad guys.

CAUTION SPOILER: The author created conflict in the following way which I hate. Sable and Derek fall for each other. Sable's former lover Marius, comes to her and says he will hurt Derek's career if Sable will not return to live with him. Instead of being honest and telling Derek about the problem, Sable tells Derek that their relationship is over, she doesn't love him and she is returning to be with Marius. She is being dishonest and is ignorant of the fact that Marius would not be able to hurt Derek. Derek could have easily solved the problem if she had told him the truth.

The second story “Kiss of the Night” was a little better than the first story. A vampire loves a human female. Someone is trying to kill her. The vampire needed to control and restrain himself during sex with the human. It was interesting when she asked him not to control himself and he ended up physically hurting her, but it was survivable.

DATA:
Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: 1st story nine, 2nd story five. Copyright: 2005. Genre: paranormal romance.

Vampires having sex in space. Normally I would like all those things but it just didn’t work in these two short stories. It’s hard to believe this is the same author who wrote the crossfire series. Only reason I forced myself to finish it.

I could’ve dealt with the vampires. I like spicy books. I’m into sci-fi. What really ruined this for me was the overuse of the word and variations of “cream”. Please find a different word. Thanks.

The premise is something that should be my jam, but the plot is essentially only there as a way to link various sex scenes together. Not really a story, so much as various sex scenes presented as a story. Super fast read, given the above. The sex scenes were fairly formulaic, as well. Not a read I lost myself in.

Sylvia Day’s Carnal Thirst consists of two vampire romances involving space travels, outer space, and a whole lot of vampire sex. The first romance Misled is about an undercover Special Task Force agent, Derek Atkinson, a vampire who has the hots for vampire bounty hunter Sable Taylor. After spending two days of mind-blowing sex, they discover it wasn’t enough to walk away. Sable is on a dangerous mission and can’t let Derek get close. However, Derek senses she is hiding something and wants answers which Sable couldn’t answer in fear of losing him.

Kiss Of The Night is the second romance between a vampire, Alexei Night, also a Special Task Force Agent, and a human Briana Michaels, an Interstellar Council Representative. Alexei has a crush on Brianna since he saw her on the vid comm. When her unpopular position supporting vampiric rights threatens her family, Alexei jumps the chance to protect her and uses the two-week journey to lure her into his bed.

Sylvia Day fills the pages with the explosive sexual chemistry between her characters whose personalities are just as explosive in these two action-packed plots. Misled and Kiss Of The Night kept me captivated. If you love space travels and erotic pleasures, and vampires, this book is perfect for you.

I do like to get into a book by this author when I can with time have gotten away from me in this so in I went on this one. Hardly ever do I recall reading a paranormal from her so this one was a gem. Derek is a special agent and Sable is a vampire of course. With a name like that it narrows the field. She is a bounty hunter so they both go after someones or somethings. Things will go in anther direction thanks to planning so for us the interest will peak. So things get down and we stay there until the last .
In the next one there is special agent Alexei and council rep Brianna with them both being not like the other. Chemistry also comes into play not caring about their differences. He will be the one to step up to protect and that will be the beginning of the end I think.

I think I'm done reading Sylvia Day's 'paranormal' series. They are so over the top smutty and I love that! but her books are like when I gorge on too much candy and give myself a sugar headache.

I won this as a Good reads Giveaway. It was ok. Story was good, not much of it, but lots of steamy sex. Took a break between stories so it took me a while to read.

These short stories were ok. They just didn't grab me the way the other books of Sylvia's books normally do.

It was okay. Very little plot to the book at all, just mostly repetitive sex scenes which I skimmed. Not one I would recommend

A big thanks to Sylvia Day. the author, and Goodreads for the opportunity to win Carnal Thirst: Misled & Kiss of the Night (Kindle Edition) in a giveaway. This isn't something I would normally pick up. There was a lot of smut/erotica and sexual art, which I'm not against, I just normally like more plot to go along with it. This is a lot of paranormal erotica art with a little story behind it to hold it together.

I was thinking it might be the genre- more sci fi really than paranormal although there do appear to be vampires in the stories. But then I remembered a historical by this author which had left me fairly unenthusiastic as well.
I have trouble pin-pointing what doesn't quite work for me.
I do find intriguing how in the second story the hero is the more emotional and sensitive of the two - vampire and all... Not so often that the hero accepts he is more in love than the heroine. Normally this would tip the balance, but again, there doesn't seem to be any chemistry here for me. Too bad - someone will no doubt be thrilled to read this after me.

Don't think I completed this but however I think I did. That should sum it up if I can't remember. Just was not that great of a book. I assume I am getting bored with reading again. There is just noting out there to quench my reading desire. I surely thought Sylvia Day would make a spark for me but a last no go.
