Jessie Green’s life has officially hit an all-time high. With her new career and friends who love her, she feels like she can take on the world. There’s only one tiny, annoyingly handsome problem. The one night stand she thought she could avoid happens to work for the same company she does. Life is about to get a lot more interesting.
Hayden Turner lives his life in the fast lane. Being an MLB superstar has its perks when it comes to the ladies. He works hard so he can play harder. The only issue in his life is that for the past year and a half, one woman has lived rent free in his head. To make matters worse, she’s now his athletic trainer.
The second the two are in a room together it’s impossible for them to be civil. Tensions are at an all time high when Jess realizes she wants to make a deal with the devil. Hayden, not being able to get over her, obviously agrees. Friends with benefits was never in the cards for them, though. They both realize they want and need more, but there’s a few mishaps along the way. When Jess finds out a family secret that turns her life upside down, Hayden’s the one to catch her. As she navigates her new truths, he’s the one constant by her side.
Any walls Jess built around her heart to keep Hayden out are shattered.
When I tell you I have been waiting I am not kidding!!!! First book of the year was a fricken 5 star banger like I knew it would be because Haylee does not disappoint in a swoon worthy baseball heartthrob.
Stealing Home. We go back to the Major League series following Bailey Hudson and Raelyn Monroe's best friends Jessie Green and Hayden Turner (squealing).
Jessie and Hayden one night fling thought they could put it behind them until she becomes the team's athletic trainer. Can they survive the season with just being friends???? We know the road and it's glorious.
Mix in an amazing back story of true heart ache the twists I did not see coming. Hoping we hear more about one twist in another book. Haylee brought in the best healing journey for Jessie. I cried and felt all the feelings with her. The glimpse into anxiety in a fictional world still felt true to what I feel sometimes with anxiety. That overwhelming feeling that just won't let go.
This story will take you through all the feels and leave you wishing Hayden was real (must be the name because damn). You'll laugh with the banter. There is a lot and ugh perfection. Jessie does not go easy on him.
I absolutely devoured this. Now that the new covers are out these are going to be added to the book shelf. Already looking forward to what we get next from miss Haylee
If you love sports romance try the Major League series. Bailey and Hayden make it worth it. Rae and Jessie will feel like your best friends. You will love them all.
"Stealing Home" by Haylee Trew is a captivating sequel in her Major League Series, set against the high-stakes world of Major League Baseball. This enemies-to-lovers romance follows the evolving relationship between Jess and Hayden.
Stealing Home does an excellent job of developing her characters, showing their growth as individuals and partners. Jess and Hayden have undeniable chemistry, and the tension between them is electric. The plot is driven by both the characters’ emotional struggles and their journey to understanding each other in a high-pressure environment.
While Stealing Home is part of a series, it stands well on its own. I didn’t read the first one but you do get a little lost. So I recommend reading the first one Bottom of the Ninth. The pacing is tight, and the writing is smooth, keeping readers engaged from start to finish.
Overall, Stealing Home is a delightful romance filled with heart, tension, and growth. Haylee Trew delivers an exciting and satisfying sequel, with enough emotional depth and sports drama to keep readers invested in the characters’ journeys. If you’re a fan of enemies-to-lovers tropes or sports romance, this book is definitely worth the read.

Jess and Hayden's story is finally here, and it’s everything I hoped for after their introduction in Bottom of the Ninth! This book takes you on a journey full of heart, humor, and healing. 💙 A powerful moment in the story involves Jess facing trauma and a subsequent panic attack. Haylee beautifully captures the nuances of mental health, portraying anxiety with compassion and normalcy. As someone who’s been there, this hit close to home in the best way.
😂 Favorite line? “Honey, if you think my husband doesn’t make me want to throat punch him a minimum of five times a day, you’re sadly mistaken.” After 20 years of marriage, I can absolutely relate!
💖 With its emotional depth, laugh-out-loud moments, and a perfect HEA, this book is a home run! Here’s hoping there’s more to come from the Nashville Gnats! 🐝⚾
Haylee delivered on Jess and Hayden's story 🙌🏼 This book was the perfect amount of spice and plot. I loveee that he fell first and showed up for her time and time again. Their witty banter GIVES 👏🏼 ME 👏🏼 LIFE 👏🏼 This book hit home for me in ways I wasn't expecting, and the twists and turns are REAL! Such a good book if you're looking for a quick read! *Side note: love that we get a good bit of Rae & Hudson (Bottom of the Ninth).
THIS BOOK!!! Wholly whoa, the depth of these characters was phenomenal and ultimately made the story. I could relate to the FMC is some ways which just made this story that much better. The anxiety attacks were so well written and again just added to the depth of these characters.
Hayden and Jess are EVERYTHING!!! The banter is the best part of this duo. The anxiety rep was also amazing! What a great installment in the major league series!
Stealing Home is a fantastic story about finding yourself and learning to love yourself and trusting others to love you. Jess and Hayden are Rae and Hudson's best friends. They don't exactly get along but they both have this attraction to the other. Jess fights it more than Hayden but they both are reserved about showing feelings and being enough for someone else. They both have tragic back stories but together they learn to help and grow. Their love story starts as friends with benefits but blossoms into more when they realize how supportive and loved they feel when with the other. Jess helps him heal from an injury during a game and they both help each other find strength to have their past.
If you are looking for a spicy baseball romance with an actual plot, this is a great book for you. There was a TON of GOOD spicy scenes. This book managed to touch on some heavier topics as well, including an attempted SA, abandonment issues, and anxiety representation. I will definitely be recommending this to some of my friends who are looking for a book that embraces the 🌶️🌶️🌶️.
Loved Jess and Hayden’s story! The characters are super relatable I loved the way their love developed over time! I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a good romance.
Haylee Trew you are a queen and I could not be more in love with this series, which is now my all time favorites and the best baseball romances I have read yet! The way that you show real life struggles and hardships through your books but also bring out the characters strength through these times is absolutely incredible, especially being mixed in with all the romance aspects of the books as well. I loved these more than I can explain and can not thank you enough for these gifts🩷💙 I am so excited for Strike Three💚
If I can convince you to read any books please let it be this series☺️
“You know I didn’t mean it the way it came out. I just… I don’t want to take advantage of you, and it kinda feels like that’s what I’m doing. As far as me not owning your body, I own a lot more than just your body, Princess. You’re f*cking mine, whether you realize it or not.”
•REVIEW• Alright so I absolutely loved Bottom of the Ninth when it came out and fell in love with dear old Hudson aka Huddy. But then Haylee introduced us to Hayden in this book and let me tell you I wasn’t impressed with him in book one, but Hayden in his own book OH MY GOD talk about sweet and caring and definitely not who I thought he was.
Now for Jess I’ve loved her spunk and sass since the very first book. I’ve loved her relationship with Rae as well and was so glad to see that it progressed in this book as well. Jess has a lot of things to work out from her childhood to her current present life, but she realizes with Hayden by her side everything is so much easier.
Over all if you want a good baseball read then this series is worth it and Haylee is phenomenal with how she captures everyone’s personalities.
Miss Haylee said second book, time to turn up all the emotions. The spicy was extra spicy, the love was extra lovely. The couple, Hayden and Jess, were fireworks from the moment they met.
At the start of this book I thought it was be a spicy book about two acquaintances with benefits finding their happily ever after, but I didn’t expect was the emotional journey I went on while reading. How dealing and experiencing blocked trauma and handling it, was done so well, I felt every tear and fear in this story.
I love that both these characters are very adult, and it’s not some immature “adults” because when they both make mistakes, they own up to it. They know when they messed up, but also they grew together with each other. How they knew that they could trust each other, how they clung to each other. Had my stomach in knots and had me feeling everything.
To believe this is her second book? I can’t wait see where she takes her writing.
I really loved Jess and Hayden together - their chemistry was strong, their connection felt genuine, and I enjoyed watching their relationship unfold. Haylee Trew does a great job crafting couples you want to root for, and this one was no exception.
That said, I found myself wishing the story had gone a bit deeper into Hayden's mental health struggles. The issues were clearly present and hinted at, but I wanted more exploration and follow-through. Diving deeper into Hayden’s mental health would have added much more emotional weight and complexity to his character and the story overall.
Haylee consistently delivers engaging romances, portraying mental health struggles with authenticity and care while making her characters feel genuinely seen - I’m excited to see what she does next.
I have been waiting for this book since I read her first one! & To be lucky enough to be an ARC reader for it was even better! This story was everything I wanted & more! It’s sweet, it’s funny, they have great banter! I loved Hayden almost as much as I loved Hudson. lol this was so good & if you want a good baseball romance with a tiny bit of a darker edge then these are your books! They are the perfect romances in my opinion!
this books had true hearts that comes with twits but i devour this in one setting. I adore . Bailey and Hayden alot and but the friendship in this book was just amazing
I was so incredibly lucky and honored to Beta Read for Stealing Home!!! Haylee is such an excellent writer and did such a great job showing who both Jess and Hayden are. I could literally see their story played out in a movie or real life. I think to often I find authors write somewhat unbelievable stories, and what I mean by that is yes I think you can fall head over heels for someone instantly but I also don’t think it the knee jerk reaction that many use in their books. I don’t find that at all with Haylee’s books and it’s so refreshing! Haylee captured trauma and what it does to not only the mind but also the heart and body and how you can work through it and find happiness.
As someone who worked in a PT clinic, granted I was only the office manager but nonetheless it was so neat to see it played out in a story!
Thank you for the time and effort you have put into this, I truly enjoyed it so so much!🖤
I got to BETA read this one and I just realized I hadn't posted my review! OOPS!
I was looking forward to a Jess and Hayden story when they were making eyes at each other towards the end of Bottom of the Ninth (book 1), and I was NOT disappointed! I absolutely ADORED them!
Their banter, their chemistry, their HEAT, how they are with one another, ugh I just loved every single thing about them! Jess is an absolute badass queen, and Hayden is just so swoony! He swears they are just FWB, but the way he looks after & cares for Jess is just SO GOOD! Love to see characters fall for each other when they swear there are no feelings involved (yeah, okay lol!).
Also, the twisty twist towards the end had me like, WTF?! Was so surprising!!
