All Summer Quinn wants is to be divorced. The only problem? Her ex-husband. He refuses to move on, putting up roadblocks to finalizing their divorce instead of accepting that it’s over. Desperate to get out of Las Vegas and away from the memories there, Summer escapes to her college friend’s family home for some rest and relaxation. He lives in a small town, which means there shouldn’t be that many unmarried men, right? Except Colt Raines is tall and a total ten in tight jeans, and Summer is completely distracted by him.

Colt Raines hid his heart behind a wall after his ex-wife broke it, and he has no plans on letting anyone tear it down. Preferring the company of his family and their horses, he keeps his focus on the family ranch. That is, until, his cousin invites his friend from college up for an extended vacation. When Summer arrives at the Triple R, he tries to keep his distance from the brunette city girl with eyes the same color as his mother’s favorite chocolate.

Between bonfires and bar fights, they grow closer; mending their broken hearts one two-step at a time.

When Summer’s ex finally agrees to the divorce, they go to Vegas together, reeling from some shocking revelations. In the aftermath, they return to Montana with things different between them. But small towns hold secrets of their own, and when all is revealed, Colt and Summer discover that not all that glitters is gold.

Janet Berry is a USA Today Best Selling Texas-based author of multiple novels spanning a variety of romance sub-genres. She still has the first book she ever wrote when she was 14 (and she uses the term book very lightly.)

When she is not hiding in her office writing, she enjoys watching cop shows, military shows, and lots of cooking shows. (Even though she isn't that great of a cook!) She also constantly annoys her fur children (and probably her human child, too) by taking way too many photos of them and they often end up on her Instagram.

She also enjoys streaming on the web streaming service, Twitch.tv and you can find her there playing video games.

I had the opportunity to receive an Arc for this novel! It was a cute story and I loved Colt and Summer! I cannot wait to delve into the world more when the other books release!

It's and easy, sweet, cozy read 💖

I love the way it was written, it felt so real. It's very easy to empathize and understand Summer and the book move in a correct pace you are not lost but it's not slow either.

I love the description of the town and the side characters, and how the author wrote a little "side history" inside the book.

The plot twist it's funny and unexpected (what are the chances of THAT happening irl? 😂).

If you are into romance and love small towns and cowboys, hear me out: this is for you 💖

Ugh! Colt was my first cowboy romance ever (how? I’m not sure!) but it did not disappoint!🤠😍
.
I mean of course Summer was attracted to Colt, look at him! But that sweetie pie could keep any woman around. Summer went through it with her ex, but she found a winner in this handsome cowboy🥹🥰

Janet Berry’s writing did not disappoint! I don’t typically come across third person romances but she did it so well I sometimes forgot it wasn’t written in 1st🫶🏼

I've been loving small town romances recently and Colt had all of the heartwarming cozy feels that small romances have to offer! I don't typically read many books written in 3rd person but Janet Berry's writing made this a fun, compelling story. Despite troubling relationships and pasts, Summer and Colt's chemistry is instant. The romance, hilarious plot twist, and pacing of this story make it a quick enjoyable read.

cowboy goodness

I’m gonna need someone to tell me why this book was allowed to be as cute as it was. Even despite Summer working through her divorce grief and getting to the other side of it the whole time was just light and easy and the perfect way to escape the world and just be somewhere else for a little bit

Definitely not as good as I was expecting but not bad. I will be honest I read pretty fast towards the ending chapters because it wasn’t keeping my interest.
