Tired of living a life constantly in hiding, a lonely writer must face the sinister consequences of her actions.
The Elven King seeks revenge. A long lost Infernal Artifact caused torment across realms since it first appeared in Chicago in 1903. Its whereabouts were largely unknown until it resurfaced in the body of a young girl nearly one hundred years later. Now on the run with a target on her head, she hopes to destroy it and end her suffering. But when she reunites with a former flame who once betrayed her, secrets are brought to light. In her quest for solitude, she may have freed something so much worse…
THE INFERNAL ARTIFACTS COLLECTION
Facing a threat unlike anything the world has ever seen, three of the universe's most ancient beings—known as Infernals—have given their artifacts a chance at life to not only protect themselves, but the fate of humanity.
The Infernal Artifacts is a collection of interconnected book serieses that take place in a reality where the paranormal has been woven into our history. Timeline order (or publication sequence) is the recommended reading order to avoid all spoilers but each individual series can be read independently of each other.
Lady Luck: Fate Unbinding is book 4 of The Infernal Artifacts Collection
Ralynn Kimie is an independent author with her own publishing imprint known as Steely Co. Publishing. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, she is a mixing pot of different ethnic backgrounds, but primarily Japanese and Irish.
She’s autistic and has ODD, ADHD, and Depression.
Ralynn Kimie is an advocate for Suicide Prevention, Asexual Awareness, Body Positivity, and Operation Santa.
This book picks up with Friday, our fmc who's been dealing with a ton of weight from her past while trying to navigate the chaos surrounding the cursed artifact that’s tied to her fate.
The world building continues to impress. The lore surrounding the artifacts and the threats they bring just keeps getting deeper. The stakes are always high. The relationships evolve in subtle but meaningful ways, and the emotional tension builds beautifully.
And the red string of fate?! OHH it's definitely my favourite part in this book!! 🪢 If you're a sucker for fate and destiny (like me), you'll LOVE this. I absolutely adored how Raye incorporated this little element into the story 🥹
However, I was kind of hoping to see more growth from Friday. Throughout the book, I didn't feel like she evolved as much as I thought she would. I kept waiting for her to really break through, but she stayed pretty much the same emotionally by the end. It just left me wanting a little more from her character arc.
If you're into paranormal fantasy, found family, elves and fey, curses and demons, you need to read this book. And did I mention the former lover tries to kill her? Yep, definitely rivals to lovers vibes with a twist!
Thanks Raye for sending me this incredible book. I've grown so much love for all the characters in this series/collection you've written 💜
Lady Luck is the 4th books released in Kimie’s Infernal Artifacts series. While this is the 4th book it’s also the 1st as each of the books released so far tell their own story within the major storyline. Not having read the previous 3 books, there were some references to different times that had me a little confused but the overall plot for this story is contain to the Lady Luck portion and I had no issues following along Friday’s journey. I do intend to read the previously released books so I can piece together some of the puzzling moments
Friday is an older FMC with a larger representation for Autism, ADHD & sensory sensitivities. As a mom with a neurospicy teen, I found myself nodding along to *many* of Friday’s daily thoughts. I think this book is a great representation of the differences in the ways our minds work and if you aren’t of the neurodivergent kind, but have someone in your life who is, this story may help you better understand some of the things that seem unusual to you.
Kimie also heavily deals with suicidal ideation, the act of suicide, depression, substance abuse, obesity & body dysmorphia. As a person who has battled suicidal ideation for a long time I could see so many of my thoughts laid plainly on paper. And being on this side of things it was confirmation of the journey I’ve been on, that I was never alone, but if you are presently battling darker thoughts use your judgment before beginning this book.
Overall I enjoy the world Kimie has written, there are a lot of characters and back stories, including a cute sassy side kick. Touching on different realms and magic systems, having its own core task force for dealing with the supernatural, and tying in many different types of creatures, it was a very intriguing journey.
There’s a touch of romance but as the FMC is Asexual it’s not your typical journey and I appreciated the authenticity behind it, as well as the way the MMC is willing to meet her where she’s at while still challenging her in other areas.
It is incredibly easy to get lost in the world of Infernal Artifacts that Ralynn Kimie has so expertly imagined. Fantasy readers know that with some works it takes a few hundred pages to really get into the story. With Kimie’s books, I am usually hooked after the first chapter. She has a magnetic writing style that instantly draws you into the action and drama of the story.
I received an advanced reader's copy of this fourth book in the Infernal Artifacts series which is centered around the Book of Fate. The interconnectedness of all of the different tales is beautiful to watch unfold. I particularly enjoyed the return of the character Halina and the memories of Arlo, Freya, and Finn Quartermaine. Book 2 holds a special place in my heart and I was moved to tears revisiting the memories of their journeys.
One thing I have grown to appreciate about the characters in Kimie’s books is how real they feel. She crafts them in such a way that you feel like you are journeying with a long-lost friend. In this story, the female main character Friday’s internal dialogue reveals a raw vulnerability that was such an intricate depiction of mental illness. The way that she describes her autism and general discomfort brought me to a deeper level of understanding about what it must feel like to view the world in that way.
I thought that the time Friday spent with her grandfather was very intriguing, and wish that we could have had a few hundred pages more of exploring that! The demonic and supernatural elements of this book were colorfully written and left me desiring a whole book dedicated solely to their sub-world. Without wanting to give away spoilers, I will say that the last words of the story have left me in eager anticipation for the next one!
Thank you to @rayekimie and @tracky.pr for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Lady Luck is the fourth installment in the Infernal Artifacts Collection series and the first of the Lady Luck subseries. While it can be read as a standalone, familiar characters from previous books make appearances, adding an extra layer of depth for fans of the series.
Friday Nakano is an incredibly complex and tormented protagonist. From being a test subject at a young age to bearing the heavy burden of her connection to an Infernal Artifact, her life is a relentless struggle. Whether she’s evading Elves and Fey determined to kill her or grappling with her own dark thoughts, Friday’s story is one of pain, resilience, and Destiny refusing to let her give up.
Raye does such a great job building out the Infernal Artifacts world in ways that feel creative and easy to follow, especially sometimes when fantasy worldbuilding feels overwhelming. This book felt really personal too, almost like you’re seeing into the author’s heart through Friday’s story. Plus, I love how she weaves in Hawaiian and Japanese culture, legends, and folklore—it makes everything feel so vivid and unique.
Set during the winter holidays in Honolulu, the story brings the city to life, making it especially enjoyable for readers, like me, familiar with its landmarks. The integration of characters from previous books and mentions of earlier storylines is a delight for fans who love crossovers.
Overall, Lady Luck is such a fun, emotional read and a great addition to the Infernal Artifacts Collection series. It’s got everything—action, heart, cultural depth, and that perfect balance of being immersive without feeling overwhelming. If you’re into fantasy but sometimes struggle with heavy worldbuilding, this book is super approachable. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re in the mood for something with a unique mix of folklore and complex characters!
Ralynn Kimie has built an expansive intricate world with her Infernal Artifacts Collection and it just keeps getting better. Each book so far is the start of it's own storyline so although they are best read in chronological (and publishing) order to get the full experience, each can be read separately. I do recommend reading Dioscuri before Lady Luck because it's almost a direct follow-up and there are lots of references to the events in that book.
Firstly, Friday (the FMC) feels so *real*. Every emotion, struggle, and heartbreak she has and does feel is written out on these pages and I could totally imagine myself looking into a mirror and seeing a nine-tailed fox, that's how connected with her I was able to be. And when the story focuses on her becoming who she is supposed to be, having that connection is so important. But dam, I will say a decent part of this book is so depressing. Don't get me wrong, it's supposed to be for the storyline, and the lesson is to *not* give up on life. The pace of this book is actually pretty fast though, there's not really a slow point in the plot since every time you think there's going to be a break for Friday something else blows up.
I love how Ralynn is able to weave together so many types of mythos together coherently. She has clearly put a lot of thought into her world-building and I can't wait to see what else she does with it. The portrait "world" of the dead elves is really fascinating and I'm curious if that goes anywhere further in the future.
-The first half of this book was really solid. I enjoyed myself discovering a sort of contemporary world involving creatures and demons. The plot being very character driven was also really great although I kind of started to loose interest during the second half. I still enjoyed it but I was hoping for more, I guess.
-I quite liked these characters. I loved Friday and how she deals with things and how many things relate to her past. Dash was also great and the fact that they have a past together really adds something tot heir relationship although I would have liked a more in depth backslash about their relationship and how things fell apart for them. Still rooting for them now, though.
-The ending leaves me curious. I think that’s the best way to put it. I’m asking myself multiple questions and even though I kind of spaced out at some moments during the book, I would still want to read the sequel.
The Book of Fate, an artifact whose whereabouts were a mystery, resurfaced in the form of a young girl. Now, as an adult, she is determined to be the ones who destroys it, and hopefully ends her suffering. But it may be not be as simple as that. It may just be the fight that finally kills her.
Lady Luck, by Ralynn Kimie, is the fourth installment in the Internal Artifacts Collection, and while you can read this as a stand alone, reading the previous three books will give you a richer understanding of the characters, and storyline, as a whole.
Our protagonist, Friday, is a deeply depressed and tormented who, desperate to end her pain, tried to unalive herself multiple times. Unfortunately, that caused a problem so great, she must now find the courage to embrace who she truly is to fix it. But it is more complicated than you could have ever dreamed.
First off, I appreciated how the author made Friday complex. She, not only deals with being a partial supernatural being, but she is also on the spectrum-making everyday things more difficult and exhausting. But she is resilient, and despite wanting to give up, continues to push forward-fueled by the return of her former flame, Dash, and her suppressed love for him.
I also love the detailed and imaginative world building that Kimie always does so well. It’s easy to get lost in her stories, with all its likable and sometimes, mysterious, characters. Her writing keeps you highly invested, turning page after page, and savoring each detail-as Kimie ties it all together seamlessly.
I have been a fan of Ralynn’s work for sometime now, and this newest story did not disappoint. Friday is a person to remember, and I can’t wait to see how her, and Dash’s, stories unfold. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75.
A big thank you to the author and Tracky PR for my ARC. My opinion is my own.
Once again, Ralynn has created a world in which you can fully immerse yourself into. With elements coming in from the previous "Infernal Artifacts" novels, these make it all the more interesting- however, you can still read this as a standalone!
Our FMC 'Friday' has had a pretty tough go of life in general, and now that she is older and out on her own, it's not getting any easier. The Eleven King wants the Book of Fate, so after her best friend and love interest tries to kill her, it's no wonder she is on the run and wants out.
This is a story of self growth, coming to terms with every decision made along with the things we can't control. Ralynn has done an amazing job highlighting the struggles of life along with our attitude towards it and how this makes all the difference. Staying in the 'Infernal Artifacts' world, she is continually surpising me with the creativity and complexity of these stories and her ability to interweave them all.
Lady Luck: Fate Unbinding by Ralynn Kimie is a captivating fantasy that pulls readers into a world of magic, fate, and unexpected twists. The characters are richly developed starting with her previous books expanding her creative world. The characters, each with their own personal struggles and growth, make for an engaging journey from start to finish. Kimie’s world-building is vivid and imaginative, immersing the reader in a unique setting where luck and destiny intertwine. The pacing is well-balanced, with just enough action and intrigue to keep you hooked. If you're a fan of fantasy with complex characters and an unpredictable plot, this book is a must-read!
Special thanks to the author for providing an advanced copy.
Did I read the previous books before reading this one? No.
Was I able to follow along and not feel lost? Yes!
Will I be going back and reading the previous books? ABSOLUTELY!
I absolutely adored this book. From the explanations of Friday's experiences with autism and inattentive ADHD all the way to how she basically saved the world.
This world that Kimie has built is really cool and complex and I love that she has pulled from her own experiences.
This book read really quickly, and I found myself easily getting lost in the actions of our characters. This is also very clearly a set up for more to come. While there were some resolutions, we definitely have a LOT more questions that I can't wait to get the answer to!
I was quite surprised with how intriguing this book was. I did not realize that it is part of a series when I applied for the ARC. However, it didn't take away from the story at all.
I had previous knowledge of Kitsune's, but only from watching MTV's Teen Wolf and even then, that was a while ago, so reading about one, and her being the FMC, was pretty great. I usually read about werewolves, witches and vampires, so this was a refreshing break from my norm.
There was a lot with this book. Feelings wise. First, we are walked through her life and the mundane of it all while trying to keep her other "identities" hidden from the world. Then, she kind of starts falling apart little by little. That's when things start to get interesting.
You get tidbits of her life from "Uncle Finn" and those tidbits start showing the much bigger picture of who and what she is.
Dash, the person who feels like home, who is also the MMC. Everyone has had a Dash, and I loved that for her. I'm really looking forward to what happens there.
Elves, demons, family, CHUPACABRAS, I mean come on, what isn't there to like?
I really enjoyed this book. I will say it was a little confusing at first but it didn't take long to figure things out during my reading time. Friday is such an amazing character. I love how thought out and well developed she is throughout the entire story. She is fierce and strong, but she has a femine side to her that makes her so relatable. January plays such an important role in the story even though she isn't a main focus. She helps shed light on how strong females are and how important family is. I definitely recommend you check this book out and if you like reading series grab them all!
Book 1- Corpse Walker: The Night Parade Book 2- Dioscuri: Secrets of the Fey Book 3- Angel of Death: Dearly Departed Book 4- Lady Luck: Fate Unbinding
This book was about a girl named Friday who has her experiences with autism and ADHD and how she practically saved the world. This book focuses a lot on self acceptance and the journey of complex characters.
I loved the world built around Friday and can't wait for more possibilities to be pursued in the upcoming books. They're so many questions to explore in the next books and I can't wait to see where they take us.
I would definitely recommend reading the trigger warnings before opening this book because some topics may be sensitive to readers.
Overall this was an amazing read and really opened my eyes to these kinds of books. I haven't read many books like this one and with how well it was written, I'm intrigued to pursue more
This has become one of my absolute favorites from Ralynn Kimie. I think it's definitely my current favorite of the Infernal Artifacts collection. First off, Friday is such a well developed and relatable character especially if you're neurodivergent, and even if you're not, the way her inner workings are described are just perfect. Her struggles and growth were a treat to witness and really got me in my feels, as I've had similar struggles. I also really enjoyed the pacing between Friday fighting both external and internal battles. The return of characters from the previous books was wonderful to see and the new characters, I fell so hard for and can't wait for more of them.
Friday is a young adult who has suffered her whole life because an Internal Artifact resurfaced in her as a young child and has her in danger. This book is very good but please read trigger warnings before diving in. Suicide is touched on a lot in this story. It completely makes sense and goes with the storyline. This internal artifact has caused Friday a lot of pain in her life and she just wants to destroy it. Her actions cause her to free something way worse while everyone is after this Book of Fates. The Elven King wants the book and so does a Fey, all seeking revenge on Destiny. There is many dark emotions in this book but a lot of internal growth too. I am really excited to see where the story goes in the next book.
Holy heartstrings! Friday is just the kind of reluctant heroine to speak to my soul. Friday’s origin story is complex AF. As a half kitsune demon, half human woman bound to the Book of Fate, Friday has carried the painful burden of that responsibility throughout her life, and it has cost her nearly everything. But she is so much stronger than anyone might expect, and it is immensely satisfying to cheer her on and watch her grow into her power.
The world of Ralynn Kimie’s Infernal Artifacts collection is so intricately constructed I could spend ages exploring. I love the attention to detail that goes into the multicultural representation across realms. And Friday’s story ups the ante with added neurodiversity representation. This is book 4 in the Infernal Artifacts Collection but book 1 of the Lady Luck series, so you do not have to read the whole collection to understand Friday’s story. That said, I do believe the other books, particularly Dioscuri, enhance the experience. I highly recommend Lady Luck to anyone who loves strong women, morally grey heroes, and second chances. I can’t wait to see where this story will go next!
Many thanks to the author for an early copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

An engaging, fast-paced paranormal fantasy with romance that follows a strong-willed heroine, whose life is upended when she discovers she’s entangled in a world of supernatural forces.
The plot twists are well-crafted, keeping the stakes high, and the world-building is immersive, giving readers a glimpse into a vibrant supernatural universe while still maintaining an emotional connection to the characters. Demons, elves, chupacabras, oh my!
I liked this, but I feel like I walked into a story that was well underway. I like Friday. She is a complex character. Seeing life through her eyes was interesting. It made me realize how others have different ways of coping. I like all the side characters and want to learn more about them. I plan to read the other series before this one and try to get a broader picture . I suggest you read her other books first.
I was so excited to see that Friday was getting a book of her own!
Her journey was not an easy one at all. I highlighted so many things throughout this book. There were so many moments throughout the story where I could relate to Friday's thoughts and feelings.
I loved the hints sprinkled throughout the book of things to come and can't wait to see what the next book in this collection brings. I also loved the cameos and mentions from previous books.
This is the first book i've read in the series and I now have to go read the other 3 because this book was so addictive. I felt bad for all the stuff this poor girl has been through but I like that by the end of the book shes trying to heal herself.
This is a captivating read for fans of fantasy and adventure who crave complex characters, intricate world-building, and a exhilarating narrative that explores the delicate balance between fate, power, and the human condition.
This is my second favorite book in this collection! I loved the characters and loved more overlapping of new characters with previously mentioned characters. Ralynn’s writing always sucks me right in and makes me feel like I never left this world she’s created!
Friday is a powerful fmc who is dealing with a lot mentally and emotionally. I really enjoyed learning about her struggle with autism and adhd and how she copes with it while living her life.
This world is so amazing- Ralynn did such a spectacular job creating a vivid world that we instantly become apart of.
Lady Luck is the first book in its series and the fourth book in the Infernal Artifacts Collection and can be read as a standalone book.
“Vulnerability is not a weakness, Friday. Your ability to be vulnerable in hard times will always be one of your greatest strengths.”
♡♡♡♡♡
Thank you Raye for letting me read your newest novel! I loved this story. Friday was such a complex character and I loved getting to know her better. I can’t wait to read the next one.
Lady Luck is one of those rare books I almost didn’t want to start—because once I did, I’d never get to experience it for the first time again. Yes, it’s that special and that amazing!
Half-demon, half-human, Friday has spent her life bound to the Book of Fate, constantly hiding and longing for a break from her overwhelming responsibilities. But when the Elven King sends an assassin after her, everything changes. With the help of a former love and her family, can she truly embrace the destiny she’s been running from?
The character growth in Lady Luck was absolutely excellent! I loved seeing how they evolved throughout the story. Plus, the way this book ties into the rest of the Infernal Artifacts Collection was so well done—it made the world feel even richer and more immersive. I can’t get enough of these interconnected stories!
As the fourth book in the Infernal Artifacts Collection—and the first in its own series—Lady Luck can technically be read as a standalone. But trust me, you’ll want to read them in order for the full experience (and to avoid spoilers!). This book is an absolute must-read!
