Uluzar control has overtaken Hearcross, and with the Tariqin threat remaining too, the battle is far from over. To restore order, Honzio allies with a Savorian warrior and darkness itself in the form of a despised adversary, but it’s belief in himself that will be key to saving his land, people, and crown.

Velamir chooses between his great love and best friend, leaving Jax’s fate in Coralie’s hands until he can track down Natassa’s captors. His desperate search leads him to Devorin. In the icy kingdom, he encounters a group proclaiming him the hero they’ve been searching for and learns the last words of a father he barely knew, whose own past reveals the course of Velamir’s future and knowledge that could end the war and bind the lands forevermore.

Natassa evades her abductors and finds refuge with the Elders. She seeks the order’s aid in battling her shadows, but when she’s forced to wield them to her advantage, she learns of a pact made with them long ago. The shadows want something from her. The Golden Phoenix, the Elders call her, telling her of a prophecy. Natassa must accept her role in it and cross one of two risk everything to destroy evil for good or open the portal to a realm of spirits and burn the world to ashes.

What a ride!!! I thought books one and two were epic, but this was exceptional💖 I love all the characters and tbh, can't pick a favorite anymore. So much detail and wonderful new character additions were really the cherry on top for me (Lore and Latimus - just fun). Also, really loving the friendships and family connections enhanced in book three. Ugh, the drama and heartbreak, the humor and excitement, the struggles and enduring hope... Still in love with Mordon🐺 but starting to think Svorgin might overtake him, goshsta❤️‍🔥 . There were a couple surprises along the way that I didn't see coming, which was really cool, and plot twists and triumphs that were so enjoyable. Great expansion on the Uluzar and loved how everything was coming together. Entertaining writing by the author for sure. As with the previous books, there is a world map, pronunciation guide and a guide with terms and places. Thank you to author Israh Azizi for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. So happy there are more books to come💖💖💖

Picked this up at an author signing at Barnes and Noble. Really liked books one and two, but book three might have them beat. Great continuation of this medieval fantasy adventure with the focus being on the fulfillment of an ancestral prophecy. Recommend this series for those looking to book binge an epic heroic journey.

Do yourself a favor and read this series especially if you are into medieval adventures. A prophecy on the brink of fulfillment, morally gray characters and plot twists. War for the throne and unlikely allies are a major part of the story. Discovering oneself, political intrigue, love and sacrifice are some of the main themes. Great character development and use of the their back stories. The magic system and the use of powers were advanced in this book. Some of my favorite parts were the "coming together as a team" and the villains (new and old) arcs. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I was hooked on the first 2 books, but this one is another level, and I feel emotionally wrecked!
These poor characters have endured so much tragedy, faced death and trauma, been tested in every way possible, but the pain keeps coming.
The range of emotions from sweet reunions and romance, to traumatic battles and devastating losses is intense.
It pushes characters back and forth on their complexity, morality, and willingness to corrupt themselves for power, and tests their loyalty and alliances.
I was so conflicted with the potential for redemption and the need for justice for certain characters, and the new characters added charm and a sweet distraction from the chaos erupting.

There were plot twists galore, more secrets revealed, tons of action, and new threats that make the previous villains look like nothing.
It's brutal, devastating and intense, and those last few chapters will leave you reeling.
Read this epic series and brace yourself for more to come.

What can I say?!
If my expectations for this book were roaming in the skies, this book has gone beyond the stars!
Firstly, like always, I fell in love with their world. I was among them as they reunited, as they loved, as they killed. Their world might have been brutal but our world isn't any better either so the brutality was somehow normal for me. I loved how the author delved into the feelings and thoughts of the characters which made me love them. I felt the emotion she's put into this book and I'm glad to say- this book will forever be in my heart. To all those fantasy loving people, do yourself a favor and grab this book because there is no way you're going to regret it:)
Brace yourself as you read through this book because the last few chapters were T_T
And yes, I am honored to have been a part of the ARC team for such an amazing book. Thank you to the author for this opportunity<3

Need Book Four!!! Third book is a continuation of the story from the previous books. Journy along with the same insanely addicting characters but with the focus on Honzio Hartinza, the crown prince of the Empire. Be warned there is a prophecy fulfilled in this book that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. I'm feeling the golden crown of power is going to be a highlight in the upcoming books. Medieval battles, war for the throne, who's right/who's wrong, overcoming one's faults, slow burn, morally gray characters, unique magic system, and finding one's place in all this themes. Highly recommend this series. Bought my copy on Amazon.

May contain spoilers for the previous books

After the Uluzar overthrow Hearcross, Honzio finds himself imprisoned in his own dungeon, and to ensure his escape, he must form a fragile alliance with his prison mates. One is a sought after Savorian slave whose one of the few remaining people who are said to know the location of the Golden Crown, and the other.. is the ruthless and dangerous Prince Draven.

Honzio is such a beautiful soul, he just wants to be a good ruler and save his people, despite the torture and anguish he's had to face to make it this far, and it definitely hasn't left him unscathed, as he now struggles with crushing and suffocating anxiety and panic, and this new intense thirst to prove himself as worthy. I loved Svorgin, he was an incredible addition to this insane cast of characters, he helps Honzio face his fears and inner demons, and shows him just how strong and important he is, and how to use his weaknesses against those who underestimate him. Honzio has become a sassy, confident King, and I loved seeing his growth.

"I asked for your name, not a history lesson. If it takes reciting your dead ancestors to prove your worth, don't bother."

Across in Verintown, Velamir is stuck in a conflicting decision between working alongside Queen Coralie to secure the release of Jax from the Tariqin camp, or rescuing his love Natassa. Setting off with his old mentor Bear and Lore, a young boy determined to prove himself as capable, they journey across the Empire to find Natassa and ensure her safety, whilst being reassured by Queen Coralie, that she will do whatever necessary to rescue Jax and bring him home.

Speaking of Jax.. my poor baby, I don't even know how to process what's happened to him, but I. AM. DISTRAUGHT. He's so alone, and lost, and I just want to cuddle him and never let him go.

Coralie, now Queen of Verintown, is still fighting the endless battle of her affections for Mordon, trying desperately not to let her heart outweigh her head, fearing that if she loves, as with everything else, it will be ripped from her grasp. She's also trying to grapple with this new political landscape she's been thrust into, and #enemies converging from different sides of the Empire, it's all very overwhelming and confusing, but if anyone can figure out this political chaos, it's our Coralie. She's so head-strong yet calm and collected with every decision she makes, and with the recent revelations that have come to light, she's just trying to find her place again in a world that is ever evolving, and turning upside down.

Alongside our Queen, is our Mordon, whose likewise grappling with his own trauma from his last kidnapping, but it was really beautiful to see that he's found some peace and serenity in himself, learning more about how to be who he wants, outside of General Boltrex's shadow. He's finally letting himself feel, openly and vulnerably and that was astounding to see, his growth has been one of my favourites to witness by far.

Determined to create and solidify an alliance between Verin and Ondalar, Queen Coralie sends Latimus as their ambassador, to marry the daughter of the King's second in command. Latimus still bears the heavy sting and weight of his father's blistering betrayal, one that shocked Verin to i's core. Now he no longer knows how to face the people he's longed to protect, so when he's sent to Ondalar, he sees it as a new hope, to bring glory to his family once again. However, when things take a turn for the worst, and betrayals run deep, he finds himself trapped and discouraged, but finds a kindred spirit and a beacon of hope in his new wife, Lady Sardala, a fierce shield-maiden with a child-like demeanour but a feisty attitude.

Then we have our shadow-wielding Queen, Natassa, whose been taken by slavers, determined to flog her off for the highest bid, but if they think she's going to take her new predicament lying down, they're in for a treat. With her ever present sharp-tongue, and strong willed nature, she's not going down without a fight. She is such a fierce powerhouse, and it's no surprise to anyone that everyone falls in love with her espeically with a dagger in hand because WHAT. A. WOMAN. . So, after evading the Savagelanders, Natassa finds herself face to face with The Elders, the people she's longed to meet since uncovering her Shadow Manos status. Determined to release herself from these two dangerous shadows who consistently vie for her attention, she goes on her most epic, dangerous and toughest battle yet.

I'll never get over how incredible Israh is at writing such lush and vibrant worlds. I'm forever blown away each time I step away, and dive back in, with just how vivid, and breath-taking the world building is. It's written in such an immersive and seamless way that it transports you from reality, into this gritty, dark and raw world, brimming with some of the most remarkable and unforgettable characters I've ever had the privilege of adventuring with.

The emotions, experiences, and decisions the characters go through, are so palpable, and real, you feel everything as acutely as they do, and that says so much about how incredible and astounding Israh is as an author. There's so many characters, each going through their own journeys, and to be able to tie that all in together, whilst diving so deeply into each individual's personality, lore, history, and creating such deeply complex and multi-layered story lines, that keep you fully immersed, in an ever changing world... that is just breath-taking.

Be warned though, this series will have you giddy, laughing, crying, and pacing the floor. It'll break your heart and yet sear itself into it forever all at once. An astounding epic fantasy series that deserves way more love and hype than it gets, truly exceptional.

This is a masterclass in high-stakes fantasy, where relentless pacing, intricate politics, and morally complex characters combine to create an epic tale that doesn’t let up. Seriously, it does not. let. up. The latest installment in this dark YA series raises the stakes even higher. I adore books where there is a continued increase in danger and complexity as we go. I love looking back at past me and chuckling at how naive I was to be stressed about that now low-level conflict. 😂

Azizi excels at keeping the story moving, thrusting her characters into new conflicts and challenges without ever letting them—or the reader—catch their breath for too long. Yet, amidst the action, she carves out quieter moments for reflection, connection, and the occasional glimmer of hope, making the characters' journeys feel balanced and deeply human. These are incredible characters and they've all grown so much! All of them. Even the baddies.

The intricate political landscape adds another layer of tension, showcasing alliances, betrayals, and shifting power dynamics that feel as dangerous as any battlefield. The world-building is equally impressive, weaving a complex tapestry of cultures, histories, and magical systems that feel as real as they are vast. The stakes are monumental, and every twist in the plot feels earned. The dark tone and ever-present sense of danger make The Emperor an intense read and it’s also deeply satisfying.

Thanks so much to the author for the opportunity to read and review a complimentary copy. This is voluntary and all opinions are my own!

Continuing this Five Star adventure with book three The Emperor. For me the highlight of this series are the characters. Set in a well developed medieval fantasy world, the story is consuming with its political power struggles and gripping battle action. Also the foretold prophecy and relatable layered human dynamics makes this an addictive and re-readable series. The author provided me with an ARC for my honest review.

This is without a doubt the best book in the series by far!! Israh has quickly become one of my favorite (and severely underrated) authors and her voice in her writing is so strong. The world building is well fleshed out and you feel like you've been transported into the story, you feel the characters so strongly throughout (I will always love Natassa and Coralie), and the plot is so intricate. The fight is so fantastical and epic and AAAHHH!!! The ending was absolutely wild in the best way possible. READ THIS!!!

The Emperor is an epic installment to the Heroes of the Empire series.

Worldbuilding

Updated map which is great as we experience different parts of the world. New areas are explored as well as more familiar sites. Very immersive feel to the Karalik Empire and surrounding regions.

Characters

The characters are the star of the series. Really great development of some as well as excellent character arcs coming to fruition. Backstories and lore are a positive enhancement to the story. These books are written in third person with multiple pov's which is a plus for me.

Pacing

The plot is advanced by the fulfillment of a prophecy and the war for the imperial throne. High stakes and vivid action are highlighted here. Great writing style which keeps getting better as the author publishes.

Magic System

Shadow Manos are a central part of the story in this book. Very believable and realistic powers, and with it all being tied to the prophecy, spotlight is on these characters with a few surprises in store.

Can't wait for Book 4!

My rating: 5 stars Heroes of the Empire Book 3: The Emperor

The stakes are high in the third installment of the Heroes of the Empire series. A foretold prophecy, revealed secrets and enough plot twists to keep one turning the pages. Plenty of medieval action and adventure party comradery that did not disappoint. Key backstory reveals and amazing character development along with an enjoyable emotional rollercoaster. A fight for the throne at its finest that lives rent free in my mind. Looking forward to book 4.

Wow, another stellar addition to the series!!

The first two books were absolutely incredible and The Emperor was just as good if not better!

I always say the best books are the ones that make you feel and boy did this one throw me through the wringer!
There are so many twists and turns, secrets revealed, sweet reunions, cutting betrayals, and so much more.
My favorite part of this books is how much I feel for the characters, their struggles, and their stories. The characters I love, I love completely. The characters I hate, I loath entirely (speaking of course of the ones I’m supposed to dislike so it’s another win for the author!). I also love how conflicted a certain character made me feel. I both hated them and wanted them to find redemption.

I can’t even describe to you how much I loved this book! It’s absolute perfection!
It’s got everything I could want and more. Action, suspense, romance, political intrigue, interesting and lovable characters, plot twists, I could go on but I think you get the point!

Please please pick up this series. You won’t be disappointed!!

I want to start off by saying that I was super excited to get back into this world. With all my favorite characters. I really thought book 2 had my heart. Damn author not took my heart but ripped out my heart in this book. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to found out what was going to happen next. Now I know this book took me longer to finish. But I couldn’t rush through this book. Just like book 1 and book 2 not disappointed at all. Last couple of chapters I wasn’t sure I was going to be about to sleep after all that ending. I don’t want to go into this book to much. Because a lot events took place into this book. And continues right where book 2 left off.
I was super glad that there was some justice to my least favorite character. My heart warmed at some of the characters and their happy ending. But my heart was still torn from everything that happened before. I am super proud of our new prince for standing up for himself. My mind kept going back to Jax. And how he was being treated by his capturers. I really loved being in this world with all these characters. The way the author writes and the world she creates is amazing. I highly recommend her books. Her books will be always be auto buys for me. This book does come out November 24, 2024 This is the top favorite of 2025.
Thank you the author for allowing me the opportunity to to read this book early. Of course I have already preordered my ebook copy. I will and have to order a physical book too. .

I'm late to the reviewing party on this one cause the fourth book is out. No need to worry for me. I already got number 4 in my cart and am telling my wife to get ready for our buddy reading adventure. Cause, yes, we just finished The Emperor together and lets just say I feel like an empty hollow shell, drained of emotion and don't get me wrong, I love this series. Probably my favorite. I love the plot twists, the world, the storytelling and rollercoaster of emotions. I read others reviews of how their heart was torn out in this book, but that may be an understatement. I feel like my heart was transplanted into someone else and they are now living a normal life while I am left with my shattered self. I have to admit my wife told me I needed to calm down during particular chapters. I might have exclaimed really loud at some points, as well as laughed out loud and lets just say tears were shed. My wife said I'll be fine, but can one truly understand another? Thank God there is another book.

Ugh! Miss Israh put me through all the feels. And I love it! The story continues from The General (book 2) and we are taken on a wild ride to see who is crowned The Emperor ;) Fell in love with some new characters in this read. Lore and Sardala specifically enhanced the story for me.

Once again, learning more character details through back stories and fantasy lore, which I love. Also, through a lot of character struggles as the story progressed, prophecy fulfillment was achieved. That still leaves some unfinished business which I hope will be highlighted in book 4.

There were some surprises I didn't see coming, along with unexpected plot twists. Eagerly awaiting the next book. Buddy read this series!

“Because this is your destiny.”

That lines sums of the entire epicness of this journey we take with these characters. Azizi ups the stakes, rips your heart out, and then serves it on a platter with a side of hope. Each book has progressively built the world, characters, and plot, and I can't express how in love I am with everything (I'm looking at you Mordon). We're introduced to even more characters to love and adore, and are exposed to plenty of twists and turns to keep you surprised.

Azizi outdid herself on this book. I've loved all of them but she continues to raise the bar. Her writing style is engaging, easy to follow, and memorable. Her world building is awesome and gets richer with each book, and her characters are relatable and authentic.

I can't wait for whatever Azizi creates next! ♥️

Author Israh Azizi’s “The Emperor” is the third book in the young adult epic fantasy series, Heroes of the Empire.

In my opinion, Israh Azizi is an absolutely brilliant writer. Everything about this book was so incredibly well done, and I loved every second of it.

This series captured my attention from the very beginning, and I know it’s the kind of story that will stay with me for a long time.

This book had so many twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting. It was very action-packed and angsty as well. I honestly can’t wait to see what happens next for these characters!

I have been reading this series with Hidden Hollow Book Tours since October of last year. I am having a fantastic time with it. I just finished Book 3, THE EMPEROR, by Israh Azizi. This review tour is hosted by the author and Hidden Hollow BookTours. Thank you to both for inviting me along and for the gifted signed book. I loved it!

This series has been taking the characters on an epic journey. They are trying to save their kingdoms, each other, and themselves. If you know me at all, you know I love character-driven stories. And, these particular characters are part of the reason why. Their relationships, growth, and transformations make you love most of them and hate the others. I can't talk about my favorites because that would give away secrets. I'm not doing that.

The worldbuilding is done so well. There's plenty of details to give you the lay of the land, but not so many that you get lost. The battle scenes are intense without being overly gory. There are secrets, twists, and surprises that you won't see coming.

This book comes screeching to its end leaving you wanting the next installment immediately. I was so excited to realize that there's more to this series, and I can't wait to read it!

I highly recommend THE EMPEROR to fans of YA fantasy, epic fantasy, romantic fantasy with no spice, great characters, found family, war for the throne, chosen one, and morally grey characters.

The third book in a series or trilogy can oft be a disappointment. That is not the case for The Emperor. It took me quite some time to reach the final page, but that was due to life's complications and it further increased my enjoyment to slip away into this world whenever I could.

You would estimate that since this is the third book we have gone past the pleasantries stage. Wrong. Like both books before we are introduced to view this world through the lens of new fascinating characters which made me appreciate the character guide at the beginning all the more.
I am astounded how these characters endure more drastic situations. This book is full of twists and turns and losses that cut deep. And once again, we are left hanging from a cliff at the finale. The character development, pointedly for Honzio was mesmerizing. Seeing him go from a feeble prince to the man he becomes over these three books makes me want to start reading from page one again to properly digest his story. One thing I would say is that I wish I knew more about the Uluzar. I hope we will explore more of them in future installments. I am eager to see where the story progresses.

Much gratitude to the author for the ARC in return for genuine feedback.

I just finished the last chapter of Israh Azizi’s third book in the Heroes of the Empire series, “The Emperor,” and I honestly do not know what to say except…WOW!! This series has been absolutely amazing, and I, for one, cannot wait to see what happens next. With this third story, the author has completely outdone herself. I laughed, I gasped, I cried (a lot), I cheered! It is simply incredible, and Israh Azizi has become one of my very favorite authors.

In “The Emperor,” all of these wonderful characters are back and following their own journeys through this incredible world. Honzio, the crown prince of the Empire, is now a prisoner in his own home and must find a way to escape and reunite the lands. To do so, he creates an alliance with a Savorian warrior and one of his most dangerous enemies. Back in Verintown, our favorite hero Velamir is trying to decide what he should do next…does he go to rescue his best friend Jax, who is being held by the enemy, or does he go in a different direction to rescue the love of his life Natassa. The wonderful Natassa has plenty of problems of her own since she found out she was a Shadow Manus. Now her two shadows are attempting to take over completely, and they have a mission for Natassa if she is ever going to be whole and control her own life and destiny again. The problem is that this task will be the most dangerous one she has ever undertaken and could lead to her death.

If all of this is not enough action for the reader, the queen of Verintown, Coralie is still attempting to figure out her own life and how to save her people and kingdom while she continues to fight her own feelings for Mordon (my absolute favorite character). Mordon is spending his time attempting to overcome his own pain and confusion from being kidnapped and hoping to find a sense of peace and security while standing by Coralie’s side. While all of this is going on, the author also introduces new characters and plenty of new adventures and threats into an already action-packed story. It is so hard to really give an idea of all that is going on in this book without giving away too much. All I can say is that you must read it for yourself.

Israh Azizi is an incredible storyteller, and this book is no exception. The plotline is so different and the writing and building of the different worlds so very vivid that it will take your breath away. With the introduction of new characters, we are given more “heroes” for the empire as well as new personalities that are so welcome and perfect additions to the overall story. Each character’s individual history is well-developed, and they tie the story together in a flawless way that keeps the reader completely engrossed in each person, as well as the story as a whole. The dialogue is extremely well-done and never lets you down. There is nothing I can say that is not complete and utter praise for this book and series, which is suitable for teens as well as adults.

I would suggest to any reader picking up this book that you should go back and read the first two in the series if you have not yet done so. Each story picks up right where the previous one left off, and it would be an injustice to you as a reader not to get to know each of these characters and what they are fighting for.

“Heroes of the Empire: The Emperor” is the ultimate fantasy story, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. When I read the last page, I was immediately on the edge of my seat as my mind started wondering what could possibly happen next. I will be anxiously waiting for book 4. This is definitely 5 stars (actually, can I say 10 stars?) and should be on every fantasy fan’s must-read list!

Heroes of the Empire: Book 3 dives deep into a realm of tangled loyalties, sprawling kingdoms, and characters grappling with the shadows of their past. The story picks up with Honzio, a reluctant prince thrust into harrowing circumstances, navigating familial trauma and treacherous politics. With richly painted landscapes and gripping subplots involving betrayal, survival, and personal redemption, author Israh Azizi crafts a saga that’s as emotional as it is expansive. This installment weaves together narratives of hope and heartbreak as characters battle for their lives and destinies.

What struck me most about Azizi’s writing is her vivid descriptions and immersive world-building. The dungeon scenes, where Honzio faces suffocating confinement, resonate deeply. The fear is palpable, and you almost feel the cold stone and sense the oppressive darkness. Azizi skillfully uses these moments to humanize her characters, especially Honzio, whose inner struggles make him both relatable and admirable. I also appreciated the rawness of Natassa’s story. Her attempt to escape captivity while wrestling with her powers is both a highlight and a testament to her strength. These moments of tension are written with such precision that they had me holding my breath.

The characters themselves are the beating heart of this book. Honzio’s internal conflict with his father's legacy and his reluctant steps toward leadership are a gripping arc. Similarly, Svorgin’s stoic resilience contrasts beautifully with Draven’s arrogance, making their interactions some of the most dynamic parts of the book. For instance, the moment where Svorgin challenges Draven’s privilege with an unforgettable rebuke about hunger stuck with me. This dialogue not only adds depth to the characters but also underscores the broader theme of survival in adversity.

Azizi’s prose is elegant yet accessible, but occasionally, it leans into exposition. Some passages, particularly in the middle, had a lot of descriptions that slowed the pacing. However, these moments are balanced by action-packed sequences and emotional revelations that hit hard. One such instance is Natassa’s confrontation with Yalnos. Her failed attempt to use her Shadow Manos powers to manipulate him not only reveals her vulnerability but also adds layers to her character. It’s these emotionally charged interactions that anchor the story.

Heroes of the Empire: Book 3 is a powerful addition to the series, blending rich character development with thrilling action and intricate political intrigue. Fans of epic fantasy will find much to love here, especially those who enjoy stories about flawed heroes striving against impossible odds. Loyal readers of the series will be rewarded with an unforgettable journey.

Well howdy there! I just done finished readin' this here... uh... Book? It's called "The Emperor," and it's Book 3 of "Heros of the Empires." And let me tell ya, my brain feels like a possum that done got run over by a tractor, tryin' to keep up with all this fancy talk.

Now, this fella Honzio, the crown prince? He's in a heap o' trouble, stuck in his own house. Sounds like my cousin Bob when he got grounded. These "Uluzar" folks done took over, and there's these "Tariqin" fellas too, always causin' a ruckus. Honzio, bless his heart, he teams up with some "Savorian warrior" and even "darkness itself." Now, I ain't sure what "darkness itself" looks like, but I reckon it ain't somethin' you wanna meet in a dark alley. But they say he gotta believe in himself, which I s'pose is true for all of us, even when you're tryin' to fix a busted fence.

Then there's Velamir. He's got a real pickle, gotta choose between his "great love" and his "best friend." Lord, that's a tough one. And he's chasin' after some folks who done took Natassa. He ends up in this "icy kingdom" and these folks there, they call him a hero! Can you imagine? And he finds out about his daddy, who he barely knew, and turns out his daddy's past is gonna tell Velamir what to do in the future. Sounds like my grandpappy's old war stories, 'cept grandpappy's just ramblin' on usually. And this knowledge, it can "end the war and bind the lands forevermore." That's a mighty tall order for one fella.

And poor Natassa, she gets herself abducted! But she's a tough cookie, she gets away and finds these "Elders." Now, she's got these "shadows" she's fightin', but then she's gotta use 'em? And these shadows, they want somethin' from her. The Elders, they call her "The Golden Phoenix," and tell her 'bout some "prophecy." Now, I don't know much 'bout prophecies, but they always sound like trouble. She's gotta choose between two things: either "destroy evil for good" (which sounds like a good idea) or "open the portal to a realm of spirits and burn the world to ashes." Lord have mercy, that second one sounds like a real bad time.

They keep sayin' "Your destiny is to fight" and "Because this is your destiny." Sounds like a lot of fightin' and a whole lot of destiny goin' on. All in all, this book sounds like a real wild ride, full of folks in trouble, folks tryin' to save the world, and a whole mess of destiny. If you like fancy words and folks doin' big things, you might like it. Me? I'm gonna go back to my sittin' porch and watch the fireflies. This here book done wore me out!

I give it 3 catfish outta 5
