I have to admit that I was seriously considering not reading any further stories in this series, although I had really enjoyed reading the majority of the books. It was mostly due to the changes in the story line for a few books, where it got a bit too sci-fi for my tastes, but I decided to try a couple of more to see if it continued in that direction. The good news is that it backed off quite a bit from that line, but the bad news is that this story broke my heart! I had to stop several times to absorb everything that was happening, as well as convince myself that it really said what I had previously read, which still blew my mind. I mean, I guess that I knew something major was going to be happening soon, especially after the previous books, but I never expected this! I'm glad that I waited to read this book until the next one was released, so I can at least start reading it now. I'm just not sure if I'm ready for any more of what happened in this book! By the way, I really enjoy reading about Wally's new toys. I'm amazed at how advanced most of it has been, and I'm intrigued to see what he comes up with next. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
I enjoyed this, but at the same time was really disappointed. I've followed David Archer for years and have read all of his books including the Noah Wolf series from the beginning as well as the Peter Black series. I was VERY disappointed to see the character of "mother" as the Russian assassin trainer. Does he not remember that "mother" was in the Peter Black series as the Russian assassin trainer? I don't appreciate borrowing the same ideas from his other novels. That really spoiled this for me and it was on my mind the entire time I was reading. As this series continues, the plots and gadgets become more & more unbelievable. I've never quite understood why a talented & proven author needed to bring in a co-author. This is nothing against Vince Vogel, who also co-authors the Peter Black series. They should both have remembered "mother" and gone for a different name or type of trainer, in my opinion. It was kind of an insult to me as a loyal reader having read every book in every David Archer series. This is the first somewhat negative review I've written, which should let the authors know just how disturbing this was and it totally distracted me from the plot.
Noah and the team are faced with a virtually impossible situation where they don't know who is friend or foe and ultimately everything that they try to achieve is being undermined and controlled by the very people they are after. The one person they thought they could trust (Allison) is the actual enemy and ultimately responsible for the attacks and destruction of E&E bases in America and England, but she has made a major mistake by kidnapping Sarah and Norah and totally underestimating Noah and the team who have vowed to stick together and fight the evil doers to get justice for their dead friends.
Much better than the last few in the series. A major step up from I felt had become almost formulaic. Was expecting something completely different from Alison, so that was a surprise and the last few chapters threw a a few more surprises, I really did not see coming Noah is becoming more what he was in the earlier books, ruthless and driven. The ending of this book is likely to make him more so The rest of the team are still just as involved, but Noah is most definitely the driving force A new member to the team too, should make for some interesting storylines
At first I wasn't certain that I would enjoy the "peek" into the future of "weapons of war" ! But, I soon found myself being drawn to this "advanced technology" !!
Sometimes authors make those "scenes" too long and blure the lines between fantasy and reality !! I think Archer & Vogel however, were "spot-on" !! I was drawn-in to each fight scene and certainly couldn't put the book aside until I was finished !!!
Allison has finally shown her true colors and is a part of ending E&E in America and Europe. A lot of deaths, Marco, Renee, Doc, Catherine and Sarah along with hundreds of others. Allison has kidnapped Norah and put her in the assassin's program. Noah finds he was genetically engineered and created in a lab by the Council. Now Noah, Sally Neil, Jenny and Katya are forming Camelot and the Knights of the Roundtable to rescue Norah and destroy the Council. What a great story, can't wait for the next.
This book was pack with a lot of surprises, I can't believe you killed Sarah and the others. What happened to the robot Esmeralda, can't he rebuild her? This book was exciting and especially full of action and suspense. Please let Noah get Norah back. We are sick of Dragon Lady,
Noah and crew are up against what might be their most brutal adversary, the Council. It's a matter of wits and who can think faster. For a reader that's followed the series, it gets pretty rough!
The authors provide each chapter with a continuous riveting reading delight! The Reader will find it difficult to pause, eager to explore the next series of surprises!
A bit out there honestly. Sad to see the wife leave. The kid is a whinner and could never be an assassin. Losing too many important people in my opinion.
