Forging Mann

Rate this book
In the tranquil kingdom of Hallia, the winged Enjies enjoy harmony, prosperity, and magic. All is serene—so long as your eyes don’t linger on the distant mountains of Larrec. Home to the Enjies’ brutish cousins, the Tarcels, Larrec’s peaks are a constant reminder of the years of conflict between the races. Though a decade-long truce keeps them separated, it is a far cry from peace.

Yet when an evil force engulfs Hallia, old rivals must set aside their hatred to survive. The Tarcels join the Enjies in a desperate fight against a common enemy, but alliances splinter, and betrayal leaves the infant prince, Rolenvec, orphaned.

Half Tarcel and half Enjie, Rolenvec grows up shunned by his people. When the darkness re-emerges he flees the kingdom, cursed by an unknown magic that fuses his armor to his flesh. Whispers of ancient evil, and a mysterious weapon, weave their way through his journey, as Rolenvec searches for answers. This struggle is more than one of mere survival—it is a battle for control over life itself. Menn are forged in the heat of conflict, and Rolenvec must survive the flames if he is to defeat the darkness.

Very good. Catches your attention quickly. Sort of a mix between, Lord of the Rings, Eragon and Voldemort.
