Sadly these Times Guides to the House of Commons aren't as definitive as they used to be up to and including the edition for the 2005 general election. Gone are the election manifestos of the major parties; gone is the very useful fold-out map of the UK illustrating the election results (retain the election supplement from The Times newspaper for that) and gone from this edition is a comprehensive listing of the results of all by-elections in the previous parliament. Maybe this is a result of "shrinkflation" in the publishing industry but difficult to accept for a volume costing, nominally, £75.00 in the UK.
Thankfully retained is the complete election results by constituency, candidate biographies and various statistical analyses, all enough to keep the most studious of UK politics followers occupied for hours over the next five years.
