Just a little finger wave from Zoe, and Alpha Damon is ready to give it all.
Everyone knows Zoe, the genius doctor who brokered peace between humans and werewolves. Sure, she’s not shy about her skills that led her to dive into the werewolf world, but deep down, she knows there’s no secret sauce.
She’s been hot on the trail of that silver-haired werewolf, determined to expose the mastermind behind a string of unnatural events.
When the silver-haired werewolf finally turns, they see the same wild desire burning in each other's eyes.
“Call me. You know you want to,” Alpha whispers, sounding more desperate than ever.
I wanted to like this but it was all over the place. HORRIBLE editing. One paragraph your in a private meeting with 3 people and the next it’s a large pack meeting. And then Zoe had to be protected at all times, only for her to be toddling around on her own I. The next chapter. Timing changed constantly too. It’s like the author wrote segments and then just cut and pasted them together without reviewing it to see if they made sense together. I kept trying to keep going (I read 60%) as I liked the premise, but I just couldn’t take it anymore.
E allora perché Zoe continua a ricordare tutto?
Vogliamo parlare dello spicy?
Humans have no idea that shifters actually exist and the FMC Dr zoe Blackwood gets wind of something "unusual" during her ER shift. her research and questions eventually leads her to the Alpha Damon.
Turns out there are alot of shifts happening and there shouldn't be and Rogues causing problems. Zoe finds out she has abilities that might help the shifters during their shifts that her grandpa has kept from her. She embraces that information with Damon by her side and two if them do a lot to help the packs and unpack a lot of her new powers and knowledge.
Zoe was a strong FMC. She didn't sit back while things just happened around her. She fought alongside the pack, she wanted to learn, she sought out knowledge and understanding and making sure she was seen as a valuable member and not a liability.
I wish this was more connected to the first story that I read in this. i thought it was a series but seems like its more of just a standalone set but that's my fault for not looking too far into this.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
So the story started off well, but major plot points became confusing. Because later (spoiler alert), when Marcus betrayed the pack, he and Damen battled in the conference hall, and Damen wins. He then directs his guards to detain Marcus. Later, Marcus and Damen battled on the balcony, and Damen still won, but this time, he let Marcus escape by exiling him to become feral. Also, Zoe was attacked by some feral but was saved by Damen. But when she is confronted by pack leadership, she said she had no experience with any feral wolves. Somehow, after the betrayal, Zoe somehow ended up running Michigan Ave, looking for ferals to save. She and Lyra eventually cross paths, and Lyra takes Zoe to a safe house where she basically passes out on a bed. But when Damen gets to Zoe, she's on a cot. Then, after everything settles, there is mention of Zoe and Lyra getting into a fight previously, but there was no mention of it in the story. I could go on, but I won't. Maybe the editorial team can go back and make the corrections?
This book had nothing to do with the previous book in the series. There was no continuity at all, not in the series and not from one chapter to the next. At one point, we find out the FMC parents were killed by werewolves, and then later, it is that they died protecting werewolves. The MMC is fighting in wolf form with police surrounding them, and the FMC loses consciousness. Then suddenly, the MMC is arguing on a rooftop, and the FMC is running around assisting people. I hate to give up in the middle of a book, but I feel like maybe the author did. I don't normally give reviews, but I do read them. I was disappointed that there were no reviews warning me of the craziness of this book.
Writing is great. Characters are cool. The story is compelling. However, there are issues with this book. It feels like it was written in a rush and then over edited to compensate instead of writing more to the story. The exact same paragraphs duplicated in different spots. It seems like complete chapters are missing. People are in one place and then suddenly in another. Fights aren't complete and then are restarted somewhere else. Training is constantly mentioned but never explained. I loved the first one. This STORY lives up to the complexity of the first book- but something went wrong here, and it's heartbreaking for an amazing story to be ruined by (seemingly) poor editing.
I’m so frustrated with this book. It has a great plot and the writing is good but the editing and the inconsistencies is so frustrating. I can’t even finish the book. This author has so much potential but desperately needs an editor who knows what they’re doing. You can’t go from Zoe disappearing on the street in one sentence to saying that she’s in a compound the next and then they’re searching for her again. This is literally all within eight sentences😳 That’s just 1 example in chapter 12. Then there are the times they didn’t edit out the same word typed twice (of of) and so much more. Did nobody sit and read this before they hit publish?
I really enjoyed this book. Just towards the end there is paragraph where its doubled and one phrasing that isn't really explained or looked back on that I'm not really sure why that was included as it does leave you wondering what happened.. but over all I liked and enjoyed reading it!
As the second book in the series I thought this book was linked to the first one. However, I was a good read. Not quite as exciting as the first but still good. I wish it explained how Zoe was now able to transform into a wolf. Did they use a modified form of the drug his father made to create a safer more effective serum?
Started off slow and somewhat rambling. Once I got to the meat of the story I couldn’t put it down. Was glad I finished it. An amazing story as to how love can conquer all.
This book confused me I read to the end but really didn’t understand what was going on for the most of it sorry krista I enjoyed previous books I’ve read of hers just not this one
Good book and plot to boot… keeps you guessing initially. Really pleased with the author…. Good to read a different plot and it not be about cheating etc Or denying a bond..thank you
I'm not sure if this was the book for me. I will admit this series is all over the place and not connected at all. I can say it's not a series that I would read again.
It could have been a good book, started out strong, but there is too much disconnect. The story jumps to situations that don't have the context yet to be happening.
