How to write many sexy scenes without seeming weird? Tie it into the plot somehow: check. How to make things weird anyway? Insert unnecessary sexual tension in all scenes where sex doesn't naturally tie in: check -_-
It doesn't have that stereotypical teenage angst so I can't even say it's written by a hormonal teen. Considering the cover... Jokes on me, I guess. Shame really, cuz the plot could've been promising.
An ex-army conscript gets his hands on a rare artifact and heads out to seek his fortune. He meets an elf and a human girl who aremresidents of a town near to a known but picked over dungeon. He meets a number of amorous dungeon goddesses who all have their own reasons to work with him. The world building is scant and the MC doesnt have many plans beyond get rich and live like a noble. By the end of the book he's got a small fortune, but the rules have changed to put many obstacles in his way. He's also got an inkling that greater challenges and rewards are ahead of him.
MC is well thought out and developed. His back story gives his character a good basis for why he's adventuring. The female characters he encounters are interesting and also well fleshed out. Some of the monsters are familiar, while others are unique and disturbing. As a longtime AD&D gamer, both player and dungeon master, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I look forward to reading the next book in the series!
This went right into the , story so bad I had to drop it”, pile. World building and story just did not gel. Frankly I was uncertain about the book based on the teaser description. My suspicions proved true, the dungeon goddesses methos was weak and the MCs motivations and interactions with secondary characters was stilted and lame.
A book full of action, adventure, dungeon delving and magic. With mysterious goddesses, ancient evil lurking in the depths and grander adventures hinted on the horizon, this book is a brilliant start to what I hope is going to be an amazing series!
Looking forward to more, especially with the twists thrown in at the end!
This story is just as good or even better than your earlier works!!! I for one am glad to see your stories back!!!! A great adventure with a growing legend about the dungeons and what they are!!! I can't wait see what you come up with next in this series!!!!
