I don't write heroes or heroines, I write people with baggage, history and problems. My characters are flawed, they're messy, they make disastrous mistakes that are hard to come back from. My stories are not sweet or kind, they are dark and, at times, cruel. They deal with uncomfortable subjects and I do not apologise for it.


If you like plot twists, characters you don't think you'll ever grow to love but eventually do, sarcasm, dark paths and messy relationships, then come on in. The water may be deep and shark-infested, but I know the way out ...I promise.

“Life doesn’t always end with death.”

This review is one I’m writing in tears because I binged all books in this series in four days. My heart and soul still reside in these stories. I can’t stop feeling Eli, Arabella, Kellan, Miles, and Zoey too. These characters felt real and I’m still not ready to let them go.

Dear Churchill Bradley Academy series fanatics. By fanatics, I also mean me. I won’t say much about Ravensong because it’s best if you go into it blindly like I did with this whole series. But …. If you craved more from two favorite secondary characters in this saga and dare to return to Churchill Bradley once more, then this book is for you.

Oh Ravensong, this little gem was the rest of the Churchill Bradshaw Academy series and closure I didn’t know I needed. I read this novella smiling through my tears, my emotions still on edge … my heart still shattering yet soaring … and my mind still feeling and dreaming this romance … this journey.

Well done, Authors and Master Storytellers, L. Ann and Claire, for writing an epic, emotional, and unforgettable dark romance series that stays in the heart long after the last page.

What can I say that won't be a spoiler? Love lasts beyond the grave and I cannot wait to properly meet the little monsters. Possibly one of THE best "epilogues" for a favourite character ever!! Love you K.

How can I review that story without spoiling it ?
I could say that it needs to be read after the four books of the Churchill Bradley Academy, and it's true, that story makes no sense without the previous books.
I could also say that this reading took my already broken heart and crushed it into smaller pieces. But these crazy talented authors took special care of those small pieces of my heart and mend it, little by little.
That story was not the one I anticipated, but it was the one I needed. I'm not sure I got full closure, but I am now on the right path.

Oh my God ...... they've done it again. An amazing short story from these crazy talented duo of authors.

I think I read the entire book with both a big smile on my face and tears in my eyes ...... I dont know how they continue to do it to me.

If you have read and loved the Churchill Bradley Academy series then you have to read this. If you haven't read CBA yet.... why not? Go and read it then come back and read Ravensong..... you'll need to, to fix what they broke in the series.

Highly recommended.

He was definitely one of the characters from Churchill that i loved so much & i am so thankful for this novella.

Mind you E&A will always be the main spotlight

I finally found the courage to read this book! I loved it! I truly did, who knew Eli wasn't actually imagining stuff!!!

Ah I hated to have relived that moment ah so frustrating. The emotions of what Kel went through was so well explained in 90 pages! And I am so thankful to Bene to have made the authors write it

I missed him and the ending was perfect! 💜💜

I absolutely love this series and cannot wait for the kids stories. This was a book i didn't know i needed.

Go read the previous books, then read this novella. That's all i can really say. even if your not a fan of paranormal, i think you will love this as much as i did.

What I Needed

First of all, if you haven't read the entire Churchill Bradley Academy Series by these two authors, STOP! Do not read this book. It is meant to be read after completing the full series. Otherwise, you will have a MAJOR spoiler and most likely be lost with the characters and happenings in this novella.

If you have read the Churchill Bradley Academy series, then this is what you wanted after getting to the end of Dare to Fall. It needs to be read AFTER Dare to Live, though.

We all know what happened.
We couldn't believe it.
We wouldn't accept it.
The authors sat back and basked in the misery as readers questioned them repeatedly with, "What did you do?" and "Why? Just WHY?"

The authors answered the need for more with this novella. It might not be what I wanted, but it is what I needed. All it took was the name at the start of Chapter 1 and I immediately said aloud, "Nope! I can't go back there." Of course, I did return to the book, but it took about 30 minutes of pulling myself together.

I didn't stop reading until the last page. I had quite a few pauses along the way to get myself together. Reliving CBA through this "side" was an interesting experience. It's amazing how characters can become part of a reader with the turn of the pages in a book. This was no different and I enjoyed getting to know another character that was mentioned in the CBA series, but who I never got to "officially" read about firsthand.

Once again, these authors have woven words to create an experience that won't let me go. I'm looking forward to the next generation at CBA. They are going to get into so much trouble! How can they not with the legacy from their parents along with their namesakes?

If you do not, there are massive spoilers in this novella. So please, read that first!

This book. The opening lines had me crying. I'm not even going to lie. I'm an emotional reader, so of course it got me in my feels. But this series quite literally took so much out of me. So to get this one written in the way it was just gutted me. It was both cathartic and heartbreaking. How can these two write a novella that takes you on a myriad of emotions so quickly? So deeply and effectively? It has to be sorcery. PURE SORCERY!

This is a beautifully written book. Brilliant, needed, heartbreaking, puts you back together, and makes you want more read.

Grab a tissue, and an emotional support blanket, and be prepared to just call your day off early. I won't stop thinking about this one for a while.

Sorry for yelling but there will be many spoilers if you read this before the actual series.
Now, if you don't cry when reading a book, is it even written by L. Ann & Claire Marta? My short answer is no. L. Ann & Claire Marta are the mistresses of writing stories that will make you scream, yell, cry, get angry, feel the heat, and so much more.

This short read offers so much I never knew I needed. It made my heart ache, but it brought me some happiness (if that's possible, all things considered.) All I can say is if you have read the other CBA books you must read this one! Be prepared for everything you don't expect. Keep tissues handy.

Those fantastic authors have done it again and brought us a novella that i would have begged and begged for if they hadnt written it already LOL
Please do not read unless you have read the full Churchill Bradley Academy series as this will give you major spoilers.
I actually don't want to give any spoilers away with this review but i am so happy to have words from my main man Kellan.
I smiled, laughed, sobbed and willed with him to keep being him and never to change through every word that was in this story.
Honestly cant thanks LAnn and Claire Marta enough for this read.

This was a much needed story from the Churchill Bradley Academy world. If you have read all of the CBA series you will know what I’m talking about if you haven’t go read it…IMMEDIATELY!! Yeah you won’t regret it or maybe you will. Either way you need to read it before even considering reading Ravensong.
The play on our emotions for this character is so damn sneaky. The first part of the book you get that same feeling of dread and disbelief. By the end you are just going to have to come to your own conclusions. This is the genius story telling of Lee Ann and Claire Marta. The wicked pair.
A fantastic treat or trick for all those that loved CBA and cried, yelled and had their hearts broken.

I didn't know how much I needed this story and the closure it provided. I’ll be honest, I put this book on hold for a couple of days because I was afraid to open up wounds that had just begun to heal. After all, this was a person I had grown to love and shed many tears over. From the very first page, I was aware that my tears were not yet finished, even that beautiful cover brought tears to my eyes. I won't lie, there were parts of this book that I found difficult to read, but I'm so glad I did. Thank you L Ann and Claire Marta for writing this story. I look forward to the next book in the series, I can't wait to meet the children!

When the duo of Lee and Ava kite come together to write a spectral filled novella set at Churchill Bradley academy, you better believe that the masses will devour it. Make sure you have read the other books in the series before reading this one as it will spoil the other books if you have not.

With ghosts, heartbreak and friendships that can transcend spectral planes, this novella will give you all the emotions. If you are looking for a spooky setting and maybe a little closure, Ravensong delivers.

This is the story I didn't know I needed. I cried so much for these characters and didn't think I had any tears left. I was wrong, these two clever ladies have woven this short story around a moment in time from the CBA series and in doing so have not only shredded what was left of my heart and soul they may also have fixed them a little. A great story but please if it sounds like something you would like, go back and read CBA first or it won't make sense and will spoil the series for you as it has spoilers.

This book should be read AFTER the Churchill Bradley Academy series. Please don't read this before you read the series as scenes in it refer back to actual scenes in the other books.

What happens after death? Do you "go to the light"? Tragedy strikes Churchill Bradley Academy. But what's the story behind the events? What happened to Zoey? How do events fit together?

I can't say too much without giving away pieces of the series but this book had me crying. It's the perfect addition to the series.

Awesome novella

This was one of the best follow up novellas I’ve read for any series. It was different in the sense that we get a perspective from the one we don’t talk about. IYKYK…it was everything that I didn’t know I needed. I was so happy to see that there was finally some closure on these characters and it was perfection!!! Loved, loved, loved it! Definitely read CBA before you read this one…as there will a major spoiler if you do.

I'm not crying; you're crying

Fine. I'm crying. You're probably crying. We're all crying. But Kell- he's laughing. Zoey is smiling shyly. Ari is beaming with tears in her eyes. Eli, poor Eli, has his hands full and a hurting heart but he is alive and well.

What a wonderful addition to the Churchill Bradley Academy series. It really brings us full circle with an extra touching warmth.

I know this was just a little novella to provide some closure and allow us to hear from Kellan once again but I felt this one and I know it will stick with me for a while! I cried and laughed and my heart went out to every single character. 100000/10 so so good! L. Ann and Claire Marta has done it again!

Ok, this was a good novella… this is a short, but impactful read that revisits beloved characters - This was the perfect follow up to the Churchill Bradley academy series… emotional, heartfelt and gave me a bit of closure I didn’t realize I needed… it is a short read, it is packed with feeling and adds so much depth to the characters. A must-read for the fans of the series

A must read!!

Omg, I loved going back to Churchill Bradley Academy!!! This novella is truly heartbreaking and I cried at the characters interactions. I loved the different points of view throughout. The story is original and captivating. If you have read the CBA series then you have got to read this too!! 5 stars is not enough!

Short and spooky Halloween story where we catch up with Zoey and Kellan as ghosts.
Loved the “Churchill Bradley” series and this is a great spin off, really enjoyed seeing all my favourite characters again.
This story had such a spooky feeling, so good for Halloween.
That ending, it was so fitting although Evan still didn’t pay for his crimes.
