Meet cutes and roses aren’t my jam. Give me a hot Beta, no promises, and an orgasm any day.
Unfortunately for me, I’ve been assigned a new project at work—a daily romance column where I’ll be forced to give advice to eager readers searching for their one true love. This Omega has two options: take the job and impress my boss or kiss my transfer to Arizona goodbye.
When my besties convince me to use my upcoming vacay to explore my romantic side on an island known for its no commitment, safe-to-mingle approach for all designations, I’m sure it’ll be a waste of time. The Love Nest isn’t going to magically transform me into some romance guru.
But then I find myself in a situation straight out of a nineties rom-com: one bed, an all-too-tempting best friend, a rooming mix-up, and a dangerous pack of Alphas that push all my Omega buttons…not that I acknowledge that. Ever.
They say they want to help me with my research. Want to prove that they’re more than just dumb hockey players because what they really want is… me.
I’m honest enough with myself that I know they deserve better. I come with a heap of baggage and overflowing insecurities hidden behind sarcasm and innuendo. Even if I wanted to give in, what do I really have to offer them?
Except maybe my heart.

do you know the rage it takes to dnf a book at 90%? i didn't, but now i sure as hell do
i'm so mad i'm literally shaking bc WHAT THE FUCK???
elle is a fmc with a lot of issues, she is a bucketload of trauma and i totally get why she acts the way she does but when we are almost at the end of the book and she is still hesitating and overall being fucking annoying it felt like someone not only dragged their nails down a chalkboard inside my head and my body was on fire, it also felt like i was stubbing my toe over and over again
don't even get me started on how we MISSED OUT on a heat....i'm not even going to put a spoiler here bc that shit pissed me off so bad i want EVERYONE to know that this was a motherfucking waste if you want to read an omegaverse with a heat in it
i can't believe i've wasted HOURS on this atrocity of a book, i want them all back and i will NEVER forgive myself for giving this fucking book series another chance, i have learned my lesson and now i look like a damn clown
sy was absolutely gorgeous and perfect but the alphas??? yawn, like damn y'all couldn't even have one thing that would distinguish you from each other? also what the fuck is up with all the disgusting pet names??? "honey bear" "romeo" "cupcake" yk what....don't fucking piss me off anymore than you've already done
this book is my worst enemy, i don't even want it in my reads pile but i got a book challenge to complete so this will have to be included in there, with every bit of shame there is bc it deserves all of it
DNF at 51%. This plot isn't doing it for me. The negative motivation combined with other stupid crap (including the guys having sex without her and with other people after meeting her) is just making me irritated.
She's Got Male, book 3 of the Knot Pucking Mine Omegaverse series, by Sinclair Kelly @sinclairkellyauthor. Sinclair is a newer author for me.
I loved this book about Elliott, Sy, Nixon, Rafferty & Flint so much! Tropes: Contemporary Omegaverse, Hockey, an Omega that doesn't believe in romance, workplace romance/friends to lovers, scent compatibility, forced proximity, MM/Bi-Awakening, Age Gap, Found Family & Love is Love.
2.5⭐️ it was ok, the epilogue was a nice wrap up for the series. I didn’t connect with any of the alphas. Sy and Elliot were the only characters that felt fleshed out. Sexy times were pretty spicy. I’m sad we didn’t get a “satisfying” heat. I think the trauma center was a bit of an easy fast way to heal very damaged character and move the story. The epilogue still manages to make it all about babies. 🫤
Thank you so much to Sinclair Kelley for sending me an eARC copy of She’s Got Male! Here is my honest review!
WHAT A RIDE! I absolutely LOVE the Knot Pucking Mine series and this one was NO EXCEPTION!
Elliott Mitchell is our omega who has been dealt some pretty crappy cards over her lifetime. This one though, takes the cake. As a journalist in Chicago she’s been given a romance column to work on. Which would be great since she’s trying to transfer back home to Arizona to be with her best friends West and Cadence.
There’s only one problem. She isn’t the “love” type of omega.
Her coworker Sy would like to change that. As would Nixon, Raff and Flint, a pack of handsome alpha hockey players.
Her friends convince Elle to take a week on an island dedicated to no strings romance. She brings along Sy as her beta chaperone and what she doesn’t know is that her friends have let slip the pack that she’ll be there.
I absolutely love prickly Elliott, but what I love more is that Cadence and West had her back. When she needed help they made that help happen for her.
Definitely check the authors content notes about things that may be triggering but I thought Ellle’s trauma was what made her amazing and the fact that the guys waited for her and allowed her to get healthy on her own terms was the icing on the cake.
Here’s another fascinating tale about the alpha, beta, and omega world. Elliott is an omega who doesn’t want a pack. Her childhood was tough because she was raised in foster homes after her parents abandoned her. This made her have trust issues. The only male she lets get close is Sy (beta), her executive assistant at the newspaper. Nixon, Flint, and Rafferty (alphas) have been wanting Elliott since she came out, but she kept them at a distance. I must commend the author for her exceptional efforts in developing each character, allowing me to gain a deep understanding of their motivations and emotions. Elliott’s journey resonated deeply with me, particularly when her childhood traumas were revealed, prompting her to seek professional help. Fortunately, her two closest friends, West and Candace, as well as Nixon, Raff, Flint, and Sy, provided unwavering support and encouragement. The chemistry between these five individuals was simply electrifying - it was truly a remarkable story.
I liked this, but it definitely isn’t my favorite of the series??? Our omega was a little difficult to crack but you know what, I kind of absolutely love an unlikeable heroine when I realize it’s because she’s far too relatable and that it’s a personal attack.
But yes!! I enjoyed this, and the pack, and our saucy AF beta bestie, and I just had fun! It was cozy and quick and steamy and full of soft moments and lighthearted jokes. I just got overwhelmed by having to remember all the other packs and pack members that it started to hurt my head (thus the docked star.)
Sinclair Kelly has a reader in me for life, tbh. ILYSM bestie keep writing these forever.
I just love love Sinclair Kelly and this series, so I would not wait to dive in and read Elliott's story. I love Elliott she is sarcastic, takes so sh*t from anyone, and is happy with her life overall. she is so independent and brave. She is my kind of woman. If she was real, we would so be best friends. Lol She has been through so much in her life, so this will be hard for her. The guys are going to have a hard time getting her to let her guard down and let them in. I could feel all the emotions right alone with them. Sinclair Kelly, you definitely outdid yourself this time.
Absolutely loved the conclusion to the Knot Yours Omegaverse. Elliot is your complete package of sassy, strong and independent Omega. With a bucket full of trauma from her past, her 3 sexy Alphas and sexy assistant Beta love her right through everything that has previously happened and as she works through learning to love herself as she is they are right there to support her when she is ready to reach out. An epic conclusion to an amazing series!
This was probably my least favorite of the series. Told from all POV, I just didn’t connect with any of the characters. At times I was even confused about the storyline and the FMC’s past traumas. I didn’t really understand what was going on and I don’t think it was well explained. I felt like the book was entirely about Elliot, even when it was told by the alpha’s POV.
⭐️4. I love an omegaverse romance. There is just so much passion, angst, emotion, (good) men! I love how Sinclair Kelly posed this book. It's a take on a non-traditional omega, fighting her feelings, dealing with family trauma, and trying to figure out what being an omega means for her. Love. Love. Love. Also omegaverse always has the best spicy scenes. I said what I said.
I feel like other than elliott and sy other characters kinda lacked depth i didn't know much about them even at the end unlike the first two books, but I loved elliott.
I like Cadence’s the best, then West’s, then Elliott’s.
Elliott Mitchell had all the rights to be a terrible FMC, and she lived up to it. We hit our stride at 50% when she finally gave the guys a chance. Then about 70% everything goes wrong. Her trauma flared up, and being I didn’t like her all that much, I can’t be all that charitable to her plight.
Sy and Flint were the best part of the whole book. Loved seeing them interact and take care of everyone. Raff and Nixon were fun to see again from the other books.
Not that therapy isn’t what Elliott desperately needs. Intensive therapy. But it’s annoying that it’s happening at 75% of the book, there’s no enough time left without a crazy time jump for her to actually address her problems and get to AZ to be with the pack. “Elle’s plan to check herself into a therapy center and the fact that it could be months before we hear from her. Apparently, she more than likely won’t be allowed verbal contact with us as she goes through treatment. She needs to disconnect with everything in order to truly reconnect with herself.” There’s not enough for this to be done well and for the book to finish!
I wanna know more about Ez and JJ… like even they’re more interesting than Elliott.
“One thing I haven’t been brave enough to look too closely at is my relationship with the four men who refuse to let me forget them. The lingering question is if, when the time comes, I’ll finally be able to accept their feelings for me without thought or hesitation. There’s a real possibility that a piece of me deep down inside is so broken I’ll never be able to open myself up to the possibility of it. If that’s the case, then I really should let them go. They deserve that much.” With thirty days of her sixty left, she’s still thinking like this?! BOOOOOOOOOO
“I’ve come to accept that what I experienced as a young child is not normal Omega or pack behavior.” DUH!!! She’s literally seen other omegas and packs and ONLY JUST NOW THOUGHT THIS.
83% and it made me cry.
In the face of being honest, the FMC has the name of two of my nemeses, but I think I would dislike her this much even if she had a different name. She seemed good in the other two books, and getting her own book made her worse. Reminding me she’s only 23, is a saving grace moment too.
Why talk about Raff’s mom so much and we don’t meet her?
“Love doesn’t have to be a scary thing, and romance isn’t just for fools. Take the big risks, love hard and deep, and trust in yourself enough to let life in. It’ll be there, patiently waiting for you to grab on and hold it with both hands. Don’t let go. You deserve it.” Could’ve done without this soap box at the end.
“I’ve never been more thankful than I am right now that a romantic advice column brought us all together. The day she got male will go down in history as the single best moment of my life because it eventually made her mine.” It’s the wrong form of male.
In the extended epilogue, only nine months later … we get more JJ and Ez, and again - I want to know more about them!!

This is a no for me. I’m a pretty bummed out because I really enjoyed the first two books in the series. I think I had an idea how this was going to go and it was not that at all, so that was disappointing. Based on the little glimpses of Elliot in the previous books I thought she would be a wild child. Like a free love, body positivity, sexually adventurous type of character. Then the pack was going to have to tame her wild nature. So I was thinking fun, upbeat, and spicy. But no…this was totally depressing. Elliot pretends like she’s fun and sexually adventurous but really she’s a traumatized omega that’s afraid of all the things that come with being an omega like packs, Alpha’s, heats, and babies. She’s a total bitch to everyone in an attempt to keep everyone at a distance. The pack that wants her is patient and kind. They have been waiting for her for years. Her Beta best friend is also in love with her but has never made his feelings known because he sees how skiddish she is. Basically these dudes are all great and she’s a hot mess. It’s just a total downer. I came for a good time but I got a train wreck. It’s just not what I was in the mood for. I think the bits where Elliot opens up and lets the pack in were great. I loved them all getting to know each other and the spice was great. The Beta Sy is 10/10! But then she flips and goes into panic mode and I don’t enjoy any of that.
Unfortunately this one was a miss for me. There were some good bits, but it wasn’t ideal when I got to the end of the book and realised that I still don’t quite understand what the heroine’s real issue was? I’m glad she got therapy, but it’s still a miss for me. Also I don’t understand why the heroes were so hung up on her for years when they’ve apparently barely interacted, and when they did, she was unpleasant to them. Another miss imo. It felt like us readers were just being told what to believe without evidence to back it up.
**spoiler** Her trauma was something about her mother’s infertility struggles and her mates tying her up during her heat (how would a child be exposed to this when they’re not allowed near the nest, I have no idea). Then her parents abandoned her? I don’t quite understand how that lead to an extreme fear of pregnancy - especially when tying up seems a little tame compared to some of the other activities they get up to during a heat 😅 A clear explanation would have been appreciated.
⭐️/5 🌶/4 I have been waiting for Elliot’s story and it didn’t disappoint. Elliot, the omega, is sarcastic, takes no BS taking, and isn’t looking for a pack. Past childhood trauma has made sure she only gets involved with betas and only for one night. Sy is her beta assistant who has been in love with Elle since the day he met her. Flint, Nixon, and Raff are the Alphas that Elle has been avoiding. The pack knows Elliot is the omega for them, they just have to find a way around and through the walls she has built. Everyone finds themselves at a love resort in the same villa. Life finds a way for the guys to start breaking down those walls and show how much they care. After a surprise heat that Elliot spends by herself, she admits she needs help. West and Cadence are there to help her find the right program and support Elle in her journey. I loved the way she apologized to the pack and let them know she was ready to move forward. I wanted more of Sy and Flint’s relationship building but the book was great without it. Focusing on mental health and overcoming the things that hold you back was a big part of this book. And I was here for it.
I loved the conclusion of the Knot Pucking Mine series and hope the characters that were introduced in She’s Got Male have books of their own coming.

I probably say this at the end of each of the books in this connected world, but this was my favorite one yet! I adored Elliot's character and how much more there was to her than what she allowed people to see. She kept her heart closed, her walls high, and her expectations low. I think out of all the omegas in this series, Elle was the most relatable to me. She had so many insecurities and past trauma that she never denied, but they definitely affected how she portrayed herself to others and how far she trusted people to see her whole self. What was great about Elle is that even though she had all these hangups that she went almost her whole life with, she tried to test her boundaries and get out of her comfort zone for a chance to create something better in her life with the guys she always denied and when her trauma got the best of her, she took it one step further and actually went to therapy to fully address her issues and try to heal. Even though her guys would have fully walked her through her issues and trauma, being such an independent omega, I can understand why Elle wouldn't feel comfortable putting that much of a “burden” on other people, not when she hid how deep her trauma was for years and didn't let anyone else in. Not many people are willing to even address their issues, but Elle was so brave to take things into her own hands to get to a point where she no longer thought of herself as undeserving and unlovable but instead worthy of everything life has to offer.
Sy, Nixon, Flint, and Raff were such the perfect beta and alphas for our independent ball buster of an omega. They all were beyond patient with Elle, waiting for her to open up enough to let them in, they cherished every moment with her, even the ones in the past where she'd deliberately do everything possible to push them away, and they also knew when she needed a little nudge to get the courage to do something she normally wouldn't. For an omega so skittish around real feelings and relationships, they handled her so well and allowed her to slowly feel comfortable in situations she would typically avoid at all costs. Loved them for her!
“She’s locked down tighter than a military bunker, so when that door cracks open, you’ve gotta be willing to stick your foot in and risk certain death, but damn, is the risk worth it.”
Man, I really wanted to love this book. The first two in the series were so good, and I thought I had an idea of where this was going—but nope. Elliot is a walking trauma bomb, and while I totally get why she acts the way she does, after a while, it just got so frustrating. By the time we were nearing the end and she was still hesitating and pushing everyone away, I felt like I was physically in pain. Like, nails on a chalkboard and stubbing my toe over and over again.
And the biggest letdown? No heat. Like, are you kidding me? If you’re writing an Omegaverse and there’s no heat scene, what are we even doing here? That was honestly brutal.
Then there’s the pet names. Honey bear? Romeo? Cupcake? Why? And don’t even get me started on how everyone calls each other bro. Elle literally said "dayum bro" to Sy after sex. I almost threw my Kindle.
Now, let’s talk romance. This was entirely Elliot’s story, which would’ve been fine if the MMCs actually got some development, but they didn’t. We barely got any of their backstories or growth, which was so disappointing because Sy and Flint had so much potential. Their relationship felt like an afterthought, and the fact that they just paused it when Elliot ran off? What was even the point? They deserved way more.
And then there’s Elle. I love a messy, complicated FMC, but she was just so stuck in her self-sabotage that I stopped rooting for her. The pregnancy fear storyline was handled so weirdly—like, she was adopted and two of the guys were adopted, but she somehow never considered that adoption was an option for her until a therapist pointed it out? Make it make sense. Then, after all of that, she chooses a job she hates instead of following her passion? Girl. Please.
The first half had potential, but the last 40% just fell apart. No heat, barely any group moments, an MM relationship that went nowhere, and an FMC who refused happiness at every turn. The spice we did get was good, but then it just disappeared. I get what the author was trying to do, but this one left me feeling drained and annoyed.
Final thoughts? If you’re here for an Omegaverse with a heat—skip this one. If you’re here for a well-developed MM dynamic—skip this one. If you want to read about an FMC running in circles and refusing to be happy, then sure, go for it. But for me? Big letdown.
She’s Got Male is the 3rd and final book of Sinclair Kelly’s ‘Knot Pucking Mine’ Omegaverse series. While, no, you do not need to read books 1 or 2 to read this one, I highly encourage you to do so, as I found this Omegaverse to be quite enjoyable.
In this book we get to know Elliot more, who is extraordinarily independent, and has built her life that way for good reason. Hesitant to trust her own instincts, Elle is at war with herself. She wants to be happy but she refuses to succumb to the needs of being a basic omega. As such, she avoids alphas, sticking solely to Betas to fulfill her needs, and has hidden her struggles from her closest friends. She’s trying to relocate to be closer to her best friends and their packs, and finds herself in charge of a romance advice column despite her lack of expertise in this field. Her friends suggest she go on a vacation to a resort that allows romantic experiences without the commitment to learn more about how to respond to submissions and sign her up. Unbeknownst to Elliot, the pack after her affections are sent there by the same friends and they all, including Elliot’s Beta assistant Sy, end up sharing a suite together.
Can we first of all give Betas the love they deserve? Sy was probably my favorite character in this; this man got himself an Alpha AND Omega lmao I was cheering for him the whole time. I loved seeing him get the acknowledgment of Betas being the glue that hold packs together. His banter was so funny, I just ate him up.
More importantly, I love me a book that doesn’t slap the self awareness bandaid over trauma and calls it a day. I loved that Elliot figured out that her experience was atypical and got herself the help she needed. It was so in character for her to do something this big for herself without the pack’s help, and I loved that about her.
This probably wasn’t my favorite of the series, but I still really enjoyed this read. Sinclair Kelly writes great Omegaverse and this was an entertaining read. I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I absolutely loved this final entry in the Knot Pucking Mine Omegaverse - it beautifully wrapped up the series, as well as giving such an amazing story for Elliott and her men.
This was definitely an emotional read, and I know I felt like I saw myself in Elliott at points through her story. She's strong and sassy, and takes no sh!t from no-one, but her past traumas haunt her. These traumas have made her build walls around her heart and forced her to create layers to her personality, and I loved that it was the presence of hockey hot-shot Alphas Nixon, Raff and Flint, as well as her beta co-worker Sy, who slowly managed to peel back those layers and break down those walls.
I enjoyed the advice column side to Elliott's job, and how that evolved throughout the course of the book. The plot of taking the trip (and getting stuck with the Alpha trio) was amazing - I love me some forced proximity goodness.
Each of our leading men lend something to the pack, and are so beautifully unique. As with all OV books, I love how the Alpha's dote on their omega, even if Elliott isn't willing to accept it for a while. I also really loved with bi-awakening aspect of this; it was so beautifully written and I loved how the two navigated their relationship during the second half of the book (I'm trying my best not to give spoilers, to which I feel I'm failing haha).
This is such an emotionally turbulent, yet incredibly written book filled with everything you could want in an OV - banter and romance, spice (holy hell the first menage scene? *dead*) and laughter, hurt and comfort and the most perfect ending for the pack.
Thank you to the author and @peachykeenas for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.
She’s Got Male was exactly what I needed. The emotions, the heat, and the pack just held me captive. One minute I was sitting on the edge of my seat hoping Elliott would give in. The next minute I was swooning over the spice and chemistry. AND then I was crying and upset because of the emotions that ran through Elliott. Honestly, this story was so good and entertaining.
Elliott has been tasked with a new job that she has no interest in nor any experience in. However, she has to take the new romance column or her way back to Arizona will no longer exist. Before starting her new job, her best friends set her up on a vacation to explore her romantic side which will surely give her all the experience she needs. Except Elliot doesn’t expect three attractive alphas that she already knows to be there. AND she has to bring her beta best friend to stay as well. Even worse, these three alphas and the beta want nothing but her. After living life avoiding omega tendencies, what could happen?
Elliott has been through a lot. Her character is so strong but also so broken. I loved her so much. I loved seeing her grow over the pages and while it broke my heart to see her break, it had to happen and I think it was for the best. Sy is my babyyyy. The strength this man had to hold on for so long. The chemistry between him and Flint. Alphas wish they could be this beta. Flint, Raff, and Nixon were so perfect. The l never gave up and made sure it was known. All of the characters were great.
This book was so much fun. The story kept me entertained. The characters were a blast. The spice and knots were top-tier. I just loved this book so much. I highly recommend giving it a shot!
Not going to lie I wasn’t the most excited for this one like I was for previous ones in this series. Plus, this one kind of just came out of the blue but I loved that I picked it up when I did because the book was so good! I love it when books end up being so good like this one. This one is really emotional though because Elliot, our FMC, has a lot og baggage that she’s been carrying since she was a child. I love how determined the guys are and they are so patient with her. I mean the pack has been in love with her for over 10 years. Meanwhile Sy was like the best friend to lover and took his time and waited for the right moment to make his move. It was just so good. Even though I think this one might end up being my favorite in the series I do wish that we had a little bit more follow through here and there, especially when it comes to like their families. We know that 3 of them are adopted but they ended up with pretty solid families. But Nix and Raff had families and came up quite a bit but we never actually met them. There are little things like that I wish had a little bit more follow-through. However, this one had a very solid HEA, so I feel like it’s the last book in the series and I really hope we get a book for both JJ and Ez. I mean we know how their stories end thanks to the HEA for this book, but I need to know how they got to that point! One’s a rodeo girl who’s pregnant when we first meet her and she doesn’t remember the guy because it was a one night stand and then the other is a pop star who has very strict/controlling parents. Both books sound so dang interesting!
She's Got Male was such a cute and spicy Omegaverse Hockey Romance that touches on pack life, alphas, omegas, betas and Knotting! While I haven't read any of the other books in the series, this was a pretty great read. I read it in about a day! The writing was just great, the way that the characters were described had you being able to see them in your mind, it made you close to them.
Elliot is such snarky, but strong women, but she has alot of trauma which causes her to shut her self off from the world and focus on work and one night stands. In She's got Male, you'll see her shut her self out from life, hiding, burying herself in her work and friends, but you'll also see her fight like hell to overcome her fears and take a leap of faith and try to over come her fears. Her best friends Candance & West are just as strong headed and stubborn as she is, they are Omegas too, but you will get to see them fight for their friend( even if it means talking her into a "work vacation" , but then secretly planning a surprise for her that will turn her life upside down and make her question everything she has ever wanted/though she has wanted. Will she give 3 very sweet, but possessive alphas, and one equally possessive beta a chance? The guys want nothing but for her to be happy and for her to be THEIRS in body and soul. They want to claim her, bite her, and knot her. Grab She's Got Male and find out if Elliot will find happiness with a pack or if she will be a lonely Omega the rest of her life?
This ties in with the Knot Yours Omegaverse series, and we do get character crossover. I don’t think you’re missing much if you haven’t read them, it’s more fanservice than anything else. There’s very little in the way of sports romance in this one. (I think they went to practice once and a game once) as it’s set on a resort island. Elliott has a bunch of trauma she’s dragging around and taking out on everyone around her. She’s pretty annoying actually with her refusal to deal with anything. And honestly, how freaking stupid do you want her to be? Honestly, I never connected with her at all, and I feel like we still know nothing about any of the guys beyond Sy. There was a weird sex scene, but I think it handled the kink it was exploring pretty well and not as creepy as it could have been. There is always consent in here. The rest of the spice was on point.
This can’t be the end! I call foul! 😭 I have loved this series since the beginning and I don’t want it to end. But I must say Sinclair does a wonderful job as always. Elliott isn’t the hearts and flowers type. In fact she doesn’t have a romantic bone in her body and doesn’t want anything to do with love. Which is really unfortunate for her seeing as how her boss just foisted the romance column for the paper she works for on her. She’s loathe to do it but it’s her ticket to getting a transfer to the paper back home where she can be closer to her besties West and Cadence. West and Cadence convince Elliott to take a week long trip on an island where she can get some no strings attached lovin’. She asks her co-worker Sy to come with her and he is all for it because he has been pining for her for a long time. There are also our pack of alpha hockey players Nixon, Raff, and Flint. And little does Elliott know but two little birdies let them know where she would be for the week. This is where things get dicey and why it’s strongly encouraged to read the TW. Elliott has been through some traumatic sh*t and her PTSD comes to the forefront during her trip. The guys are the sweetest and give her everything she needs in order to heal. Their love and patience are everything.
Thank you so much Sinclair for allowing me to ARC read for you. I loved these books.
