Official back cover

The Vault Guardian has failed, and the Grand Vault is no more.

Despite her uncle’s devastating victory over the Penteric Alliance, Sam wades through a fog of grief toward a crossroads of vengeance and destiny. Will Sam seek out her lover’s killer, or will she find peace with what he has left behind?

Ben, too, toils with inner conflict, questioning if the world needs a savior or a killer. Forging alliances and spilling blood across the world may be his final hope after the fall of humanity’s greatest bastion.

Winter and plague reach their deathly hands into Ænæria and the Penteric Alliance, yet Rose perseveres, pushing deeper into enemy territory. For if she falters, she will lose herself and the war.

Enter Void and Shadow, where the final plans of war take shape. Allegiances shift, and secrets long since buried are uncovered. A rogue force offers a way toward victory once thought closed. But dare the heroes trust the word of a being whose race plots their extinction?

Humanity is treading water in the rising tide of desolation, and the storm is coming.

The countdown to the Enochian endgame has begun.

My name is Thom. I'm the author of The Vault Guardian Series. Book 4, Void and Shadow is set to release November 18, 2024.

I started writing it during my final year of undergraduate studies and continued to write and edit throughout my first year of graduate school. I was inspired to write by the death of my mother, which I presume would have been a significantly more traumatic experience had I not found writing. I plan to continue writing because I enjoy telling stories and sharing my imagination with others. The Vault Guardian series is meant to be a story that teaches, as well as entertains. Topics of morality and personal growth are of particular interest to me, and I only hope that readers will take something away from the experience.

Mythology and fantasy are of particular interest to me, though I suppose my work is more of a science fiction (I think it works well, as my education has been science-based). There are many allusions to various mythologies within my story because I find that it ties quite deeply into the human experience; moreover, I believe it is for good reason that humans have developed such rich beliefs, and the diverse cultures we see today would not be the same without them. Regardless of what is true or not, humanity has grown alongside these belief systems, and my characters grow as a result of them, too. I like to think I grew as a person during the writing process, and I can only hope my readers do as well.

Very excited to release my most recent work which has been 3 years in the making. The longest book yet, VaS marks the turning point of the series and sets the rate for the final arc of the story. It has been a wonderful journey to grow as an author and a pleasure to share it with friends, family, and fans alike.
