I LOVE TAMOTSU SO MUCH WAAAGH I LOVE GOOD GUYS LIKE HIM!! I want him to start hanging out with Aki and Kanade!!! I feel like all three of them will get along really well <:) <3 I love how Aki and Kanade are still getting along and hanging out. I think it's sweet Kanade took Aki to the new cafe they were eyeing in the first volume. I do love that they had some more time together in their "On" outfits too, and that having a good friend (possible crush!?) motivated Amata to do even better at work. I just find everything about this so sweet. And that cliffhanger! I can't believe I'm going to have to wait till March 2026 to see what happens!! Time to preorder!! 🫡
In which a cat does its best to cause mischief and is pretty successful.
The choppy nature of these chapters is my biggest knock here. Pretty sure that’s a result of how it was presented, but that doesn’t change that it feels like it moves in little spurts rather than smooth narrative.
Still, this is a fun little near-romance that also wants to make a point about people embracing their identity and the roles that society buttonholes them into. It’s interesting and has a bit more to chew on than similar stories.
I’m interested to see if the next volume will do anything to address the titular imbalance, as the final chapter dispenses with something that I figured would take a longer time to get around to.
Until that time, Aki and Kanade continue to hang out and get along despite being such very different people. Plus they start to bump into one another more in their civilian guises, although they don’t realize it.
Honestly, this is a lot less of the best parts of the first volume. The artistic detail is, honestly, insane and people reading this for fashion stuff will be in absolute heaven. It’s got a crisp, clean style that it uses well.
About half the volume, however, is devoted to details about Aki’s friend Tamotsu and his dual personas. He doesn’t appear to be having a major role in the story, and this isn’t a collection of vignettes, so I wasn’t terribly engaged with his sections. It goes with what it does best towards the end, but I wanted a better split.
3.5 stars - less a fan of the first half, but the back parts are good and the art’s okay. Not as good as the first volume.
I LOVED this volume! The Tomatsu side story was a very bittersweet few chapters about growing up liking alternative fashion or anything that’s seen to be out of the ordinary. You grow up and embrace the things that you like and you try to encourage the next generation to be kinder about other people’s interests.
And of course, the two main characters are really cool. I particularly like Kanede and think he’s very cute in both On and Off modes.
Another character appears, and we’re left at an intense cliffhanger! Will these two still be able to be friends once they know each other’s identities? Given the low stakes and high fluff content thus far, it’s not actually that hard to predict! Still love these characters, though.
Yes, nothing much happens in this volume either, but hey, sometimes you just feel like munching on some popcorn, and this fills the bill perfectly.
This is such a fun, sweet, comforting snack of a manga. It’s a quick read with excellent characters. This volume even has a cat! Seriously, what more could you ask for? This volume does end on a bit of a cliffhanger though, so be warned. I can’t wait for the next one!
Omg omg omg!!! ❤️🔥
In this volume we get introduced to Tamotsu, Hankus's friend from high school, who is also someone who wears punk fashion. We learn he had an interest in it, but his mother did not allow him to dress that way. When he bought a shirt, she ripped it, but he told Hanku since she encouraged him to buy it. She sewed it up in a stylish way, and they became friends after that. I notice Hanku is an observant and attentive person. We also learn his on job is being an elementary school teacher, which humored me. We also had conversations with both Hanku and Tamotsu. I’m not sure entirely what the author is planning to do with Tamotsu if he really is a supportive friend or if he's going to be a little jealous of Amata.
We had more interactions with both Hanku and Amata, both outside of work and at work. We had an interaction with them with a cat in their work clothes, which Hanku calls Little Mitsu. When they go out on the weekend, in their fashion, they run into the cat, and Hanku calls the cat Little Mitsu, which she says she only calls the cat. Amata then realizes they’re probably the same person, and the volume ends on him calling Hanku Aki, which is the name he’s been calling her when they’re in their fashion.
I liked it but not as much as volume one. I wasn’t getting in my feels as much. I ALSO wasn’t expecting the identity reveal to happen only in volume two! That shocked me honestly. Although something I like a lot about this series so far is the appreciation of others' interests by our main cast. And the messages and conversations of it’s okay to like things others don’t and it’s okay to be different and have the desire to do so. I like the art style and details of fashion and character design. And yes, of course I love the whole fact that a cat has made them realize their double identities. The cat brings them together lol. It’s fun.

In the second volume, Kanade, who loves dressing as lolita in his off time, meets his new punk friend Aki’s friend who is obviously a guy. Kanade wonders if Aki is a guy too, and that Aki likely thinks he’s a woman. As his work self, Amata, he runs into his cold coworker, Hanku, and realises they’re neighbours. But it leads to a chain of events that makes him come to a realisation: Hanku is Aki. Ending is a small cliffhanger.
This was a lovely volume. Chapters are very short though, so it’s fairly light and over too fast, but I really like the characters and want to see where this is going. Art is still really beautiful.
This volume definitely has gotten more into the swing of things with a more solid plotline than the first volume (which was mostly just introducing the concept with some nice art). I really like how they go about addressing knowing each other; I like that they actually communicated instead of beating around the bush despite it being an awkward conversation. Their way of accepting each other is so comforting.
Devoured this in less than a day! So good!!! The art is FANTASTIC! The bond between characters is so sweet. This is one of the many manga I have to keep buying volumes for. It's actually become a priority! hahaha Highly, highly recommended!
The artworks nice and it’s interesting to see how a punk girl and a Lolita fashion boy in the bunk girls friend Heather friendship develops throughout this it’s definitely worth a read if you’re looking for something not they conventional manga Though I don’t think this is gonna be for everybody
I really wish these volumes were longer. Great cliffhanger though with the identity reveal. I’m curious if they’ll try and drag it out longer or just have them be honest. I’m hoping for the second.
Art continues to be great, the outfits are really cool. I can’t wait to read more.

needs an actual plot and better writing. It’s too slow and not enough dialogue on each page. There’s no real flow I swear I’m reading each chapter so fast which is a shame because the art is so nice but that’s just really no substance to it other than the premise
Love love love! Super cute and a quick read. The art is beautiful and the character designs are incredibly unique. I hope this gets animated someday. And I'm very curious of Tamotsu. Hopefully we get to see him more.
I love the concept. Vol 3 can’t come soon enough! I need to know how these characters develop! I work at a library and can’t wait to buy the next volume for patrons to enjoy!
Personaje nuevo en escena!! Y por el momento que todes estabamos esperando, como deparará la relación entre ellos a partir de ahora? Deseando leer el siguiente tomo!!
