Kragglepus is an imaginative, creative, daring, action-packed, and delightful story! This book is incredibly unique only including one sentence. This almost wordless story includes vibrant illustrations which transport the reader to a land of fantasy. All kinds of mystical creatures and monsters are seen down below. Each capture the readers attention. Kragglepus flies around this magical world happily until a gust of wind sends him tumbling into a new world. This new world is strange and could be dangerous. After many lows, Kragglepus finally finds a friend.
Such a unique and enchanting book! The illustrations do all the storytelling, and it’s amazing how much emotion and adventure they convey without words. Such a great read for kids or anyone who loves to let the pictures tell the tale!
Kragglepus is a charming, wordless picture book that proves stories don’t always need text to be powerful, emotional, or memorable. Carolyn Watson Dubisch brings readers into the enchanting world of a small, curious dragon whose expressive face and whimsical adventures guide readers through a beautifully crafted visual journey. With every page turn, this silent tale speaks volumes.
The protagonist, Kragglepus, is irresistibly endearing. His big eyes, playful energy, and gentle curiosity immediately capture the reader’s attention, allowing even the youngest audience to emotionally connect without needing written words. This makes the book wonderfully accessible for early readers, multilingual households, and children who rely on visual storytelling. Adults, too, will appreciate the artistic detail and the nostalgic reminder of how imagination can build entire worlds from a single image.
The illustrations are truly the heart of the book. Each page is rich with color, movement, and character. Dubisch has a talent for creating scenes that feel alive—whether Kragglepus is exploring, discovering something surprising, or reacting with delight or confusion, the emotions are clear and engaging. The artwork flows smoothly from one image to the next, inviting young readers to “read” the story using their own imagination. No two readers will interpret the exact same narrative, making the book a uniquely personal experience every time.
One of the greatest strengths of Kragglepus is how it encourages creativity. Children can narrate the dragon’s adventures in their own words, and the possibilities are endless. It’s a book that stimulates storytelling skills, emotional expression, and visual literacy all at once. Teachers, parents, and caregivers will find it a delightful resource for encouraging kids to create their own stories aloud or in writing.
Kragglepus is not just a storybook—it’s an experience. It inspires wonder, sparks imagination, and reminds us of the magic that can be found in art alone. Whether you’re looking for a bedtime favorite, a classroom conversation starter, or a unique addition to a child’s fantasy collection, this book is a treasure.
A sweet, visually enchanting adventure with a lovable dragon at its heart, Kragglepus is a joy for readers of all ages.
I've never read a book with so few words or phrases, so I found it really unique! The story is open to your imagination, and you can make up your own dialogue for each scenario. The illustrations are gorgeous and super easy to understand. I could tell that the dragon had been transported into the modern world, where there were airplanes, trains, bustling buildings and of course, humans! I think this book is perfect for reading with kids, and parents or teachers can encourage them to create their own version of the story. It’s a great way to bond and have fun together!
Kragglepus is an imaginative illustration story about a dragon happily flying around his seemingly Medieval world, when he is suddenly whisked into a more modern time period. The sky is encumbered with skyscrapers and an airplane, which causes him to fall to the ground. There, he meets a child who kindly offers him a treat and makes him feel safe in his new world. I enjoyed the story. I believe the choice to use illustrations, with little text, to tell the story gives young readers the opportunity to add their own creative narration.
An almost wordless picture book that invites the young reader to use imagination to interpret the story.
The protagonist is a dragon who gets lost and finds himself in a strange world inhabited by humans. Dragglepus introduces the reader to foreign creatures as well as familiar everyday objects. The author invites the reader to combine them and create an original tale.
Whimsical and colorful illustrations enhance the book. This book will be enjoyed over and over by readers ages three and older.
Kragglepus is a beautiful and colorful aerial trip, alongside a dragon covered in polka dots and stripes! It is a visual journey with only one bit of dialogue, bringing you deeper into the pages. Littles are encouraged to use their imaginations to understand what the dragon is feeling. Spend time and watch children point out the trees and sea monsters in delight! Carolyn Watson Dubisch does a great job of creating the story and illustrating it as well!
Loved this book about a spotted dragon and his adventures. The story is told through the pictures so it’s fantastic for little ones who can’t read or with children who are just learning English. The art is excellent and I loved Kragglepus the dragon!
A story about dragons that needs no words. Colorful, creative, a distinctive sight! Kids will enjoy the spirited images. Perfect to spark children’s imagination and conversations about being different, traveling and landing in a strange place and making friends. Brava, Carolyn Watson-Dubisch!
