Perhaps Virgil should have said, “Love conquers most…”
Elizabeth Chadwick has now faced off against an army, furious dragons, a bubbling volcano, and even an ex-boyfriend and lived to tell the tale. She’s fought, cried, and even begged to make her relationship with Axel, prince of the earth blessed, work.
Since the time Jörð, mother earth, fell for Veralden Radian, god of the sky, opposites have attracted, but they couldn’t make things work. What hope is there for a mere mortal?
With enemies lining up—humans, vanir, and now Axel’s long-lost but not much-loved brother, it feels like there’s no way for this to end happily. Can Liz somehow do the impossible and save her siblings, the world, and her own heart? Or will something have to give?
This is my favorite romantic fantasy series. And I just binge reread the first three books in the series leading up to this release. The amount of excitement and anticipation I had coming into this book was at an all time high. The additional world building in this book was incredible. Whereas we were scratching the surface of the iceberg in the other books, this one took us on a deep dive and completely immersed us in the Nordic and Slaavic legends and mythologies. I could never have guessed where this book would end up and the history and trials it would take us through. This series brought us enemies to lovers in all its glory and we lived with the humans as the dragons invaded. We mourned, we screamed, we fought, we gasped, and more. I don't want to give away series spoilers in this review, so I am, admittedly, being a bit vague. Suffice it to say, I love this saga series and I highly recommend it. There is romance, mythology, fantasy, royalty, dragon shifters, an invasion, family, a UFC heroine, and more. One aspect I really loved of this book, specifically, is the inclusion of Christmas. While this series is not religious, I really loved that inclusion as this book takes place in December and around Christmas. I can't wait to see what Baker comes up with next. This is a fade to black romance with level 3 intimacy (there is mention of the FMC removing her shirt - undergarments stay on).
I received an eARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Complex, Change, Balance, Love A difficult task to capture this book in a few sentences. It’s not an easy, but definitely a very satisfying read. Liz is reliving earlier incarnations through dreams and their history is also given in separate chapters. Axel has to do without his memories before rising from death, but his feelings for Liz are still there. While fighting opposing humans and enemy dragons, facing benign and hostile entities, growing closer to each other and expanding their family, it makes for an incredible complex story. Some Norse and other mythologies thrown in, told in Ms Baker’s own interpretation, mixed with human traditions, I felt I was right in the middle of it all. Truly exceptional, magical series! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I truly love Bridget, she is a very inspiring and amazing author! I love her books and the struggles, triumphs, love, and grief that are in them! These books are always so powerful and inspiring. They make me cry, laugh, hurt, and rejoice. I can feel so much and escape in a way that some authors just don’t give me. I love dragons and this just makes me so happy to read these amazing books about them! You are truly an inspiration. For those who love dragons I highly recommend this series because it’s just such a moving and engaging read.
This was an epic conclusion to this dragon shifter series! We finally got all the answers we needed. I did shed some tears and there was one scene (you'll know what I mean when you read it) that ripped my heart out. I'm still recovering. Elizabeth Chadwick continues to be the strong warrior we know and love. I won't give any spoilers but this was everything I wanted it to be. The romance did not disappoint and even though it is closed door it was still fiery and I loved it.
What a great ending to this series, in a love conquers all theme. There are many ups and downs in this book. Moments that make you sad, happy, proud, etc. of the different characters. Layers are added to the characters, as you learn who they were in different lifetimes. Take a chance on this book, as you learn whether earth and sky children can co-exist. Bridget's books never disappoint.
Wow. Bridget knocked it out of the park with this finale to her Dragon Captured series! The emotions are all over the place with this book, and while it has several different viewpoints throughout the book, each one is needed to help you get to perfectly build to the crescendo of this book. This book is worth every single moment of the series.
The final book in the Dragon Captured series brings all the feels!!! Do questions get answered, yes!!! Do we meet more dragons, yes!!! Did it make me cry, yes!!! Does someone get a redemption arc, again yes!!! Needless to say I absolutely loved this book, and the whole series!! Definitely 5 stars and well worth the read!!
This ending was absolutely perfect. I loved the themes of family and redemption and love conquers all. The characters were relatable (even in all of their not-quite-human glory) and I couldn't put this book down. Five stars!!
This book was a thrilling end to a wonderful series! All the loose ends were tied up so well. I love the way Bridget weaves cultures and mythology into her stories.
The ending of the book was entirely unexpected, but super cute!
I did it. I completed the series. Liz and Axar❤️❤️ Coral, Sammie and Jade🥰Some of the hated ones die and some of the loved ones too😭😭. Overall it’s a HEA! The world building and character development was top tier. I will check out other books by this author.
I love being surprised by twists and turns in these books. There's always something I didn't see coming! Great continuation of the story, which had already become quite complex.
I really love this series. The story is engulfing, witty, and inspiring. However, the fourth book felt rushed. Lots of things glossed over. I was a little disappointed 😞
Surprisingly I loved this series. I will admit I was somewhat confused by the previous lives that play such a large part of this final book, but I loved it anyway.
