Runaway groom. Snowed in escape. Unexpected romance.
Michael had always opted for safety over desire, until the day of his wedding sent him spiraling into a blizzard of doubt and runaway emotions. On what was supposed to be the happiest day of his life, he dashed outside, seeking solace in a stranger's flower delivery van, where he met Vincent—a quirky florist with an infectious smile and a knack for warmth that ignited something long buried within Michael.
As a snowstorm traps them in Vincent's cozy cabin, the two men find themselves sharing more than just a roof—Michael not only discovers a side of love he never knew existed but also comes face-to-face with the reality of who he truly is.
But as the snow clears and reality beckons, Michael must confront his past, the expectations of a life he was ready to lead, and the courageous choice to pursue something wonderfully untamed and altogether different. Will Michael be brave enough to embrace the love that was meant for him all along?
Firelight is a fairly absorbing hardcore-holiday forced proximity story. A run away groom seeks refuge and understanding from the florist was hired for his wedding. The christmas obsessed florist spoils and lends a shoulder to the magazine CEO who sprints away from his closeted life and future closeted marriage. Over the course of a couple snow storms and some trips to the small town holiday festivities, the pair become closer. There’s no detail to the one instance of smut, so come for the holiday romance, if anything.
I made it to chapter 12, 51%. Nothing of note has happened. The guy ran out on his wedding and hitched a ride with the florist. That’s the most exciting thing that’s happened. I had higher hopes for this but it’s dullsville, I can’t take any more.
A great wrap to the year, this sweet love story was an easy read and full of holiday cheer. There were some noticeably repetitive phrases, but they didn't really take a way from the narrative enough to matter.
What an amazing sweet holiday romance book. If we don’t get a movie this Christmas I will be very upset. This was just so sweet and not in the overly sickly way. This is a cozy wonderfully loving story
