Grumpy, muscular plumber Salvador meets sunshiny sci-fi author Eli.
Eli
My dreams of living in the big city are dashed by my grandmother’s declining health. My family volunteers me to live with her - without my agreement, I might add - and I find myself in rural hell. Thank goodness for the cutesy town of Port Cedar nearby, where I can be my proudly gay self. When I meet grouchy plumber Salvador, my heart goes bounce. Hello, handsome.
Salvador
Why won’t that cute author Eli leave me alone? I want a cup of coffee on the way to work, not conversation with a sparkling sweetheart of a man who draws me in like a magnet. Eli won’t give up, no matter how much I growl at him. A bundle of freckled sunshine like that shouldn’t spend a single second in the darkness of my memories from my time in the Army. Although maybe, just maybe, I can give Eli stability and discipline in exchange for a few rays of his sunshine.
A Protector for Eli is a first-person, alternating perspectives tale of grumpy/sunshine love, joy, strict roles, and domestic discipline, with plenty of heart and a guaranteed happily ever after. Each book in the Port Cedar Small Town MM Romance is a standalone gay romance.
This is the 2nd book in this series. You were introduced to Sal, the plumber, and Eli, the writer briefly in the last book, and this is their story. Sal is a veteran, with PTSD and nightmares. He has been avoiding any relationships, even those with his family. Eli is sci - fi writer, currently living with his grandmother out of town, on a farm, to help take care of her, in her old age. This was decided by his parents, and not what his plans were. Eli escapes to the coffee shop to write, and has made it his mission to make Sal notice him. This is definitely on the kink side but the characters are loveable, and I like the acceptance of their extended families.
