A superb follow-up to a great thriller!

As Ryan and Vienna fight to get to a Rhode Island to rescue Max, Max falls in with a group of youths who helped him after his injury at the end of Book 1. Ryan and Vienna make an ally who aids them in acquiring gas to get to Max, but have to risk engaging the psychopaths who are raiding and murdering innocent people and avoid both law enforcement and terrorists. As with book 1, the plot is well constructed, as are Ryan, Sienna, Max and even Dutch are multi-dimensional and believable. The dialog is tense, but it fits perfectly with the overall ominous feel of the series. 4/5 stars, highly recommended for fans of apocalyptic fiction, post-EMP/CME survival thrillers and just well constructed thrillers in general. I can't wait for book 3/
