Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Unfortunately, we live in a world that values personal feelings and desires more than objective truth. We’ve even changed our vernacular to accommodate our self-centeredness and ever-evolving relationship with the truth by calling it “my truth,” as though truth changes depending on the person claiming to know it.
But when it comes to following Jesus—the One who called Himself the Truth—we don’t get to curate our beliefs about who He is or what He taught based on what we’re comfortable with.
In The Chosen Book Five, you’ll be challenged to surrender to the harder teachings of Jesus. Together, may we endure His words with ears that hear. May we be soberminded. And may we hold fast to the Truth, no matter how unpopular His teachings have become.
Amanda Jenkins, before life as a homemaker and mother of four, worked in sales and marketing for a number of Christian retailers, as well as in visual communications and advertising. She spent ten years in L.A. alongside her film-making husband, surrounded by plastic surgery and high-falutin’ lifestyles, which is where she became convicted and inspired to write about her struggle with perfectionism. Amanda attended Northwestern Bible College and graduated with a degree in Biblical Studies and Communications. She has taught Bible studies for women of all ages for the past 14 years, and is passionate about communicating truth in a culturally relevant and humorous way. Today, she lives just outside of Chicago with her husband, Dallas, and their four young children, including their newly adopted son. She is also the daughter-in-law of Jerry B. Jenkins.

I’m really excited (and curious) about the contents of the 6th season, which will address the crucifixion and, ultimately, the resurrection of Christ.
I loved this devotional as I have loved the first four. I appreciated the authors insights and ideas that challenge me in my faith. I love the format (Scripture, reflection, prayer suggestion, questions). They are easy to read and short but can be life altering and challenging if the reader lets them. My friend with whom I read them said she's not sure if this is the best one yet or if she just thinks that as it is most current. I look forward to the next two ...
