Deep in the closet, former soldier Jackson Bird has spent his life running from the truth. Leave it to fate to drag him from a war zone into a mythical world of alphas and omegas, where every man is gay, and he’s somehow mystery-pregnant with a phoenix baby. It’s one hell of a way to start a day.
As one of three "Chosen" meant to save this realm, Jackson needs to accept his new reality fast. Enemies are closing in, his pregnancy is drawing deadly attention, and worst of all, the devastatingly gorgeous mercenary monk who rescued him is making Jackson's carefully constructed walls crumble with every smoldering look.
Good thing Airos has taken a sacred vow never to claim a mate. And Jackson's not about to beg.
But when shadow threatens to consume everything, their reluctant partnership might be the only thing standing between salvation and destruction. If they can stop wanting to murder each other—or rip each other's clothes off—long enough to save the world.

I'm enjoying this series way more than I thought I would! I like both couples so far, but I think I liked Jackson and Airos a bit more. Kalistratos and Tyler were a better fit for introducing the world, but I think this second couple has a bit more depth. Both of them have lived through shit and are haunted by it. We still don't really know exactly what that is (at least not for Airos), but I'm looking forward to finding out. I also loved Jackson's journey to accepting himself. Sometimes, humans are just awful, aren't they? Making other human beings feel ashamed of and angry with and hateful towards themselves because teach them that who they are is "wrong". Shame on them, and good for Jackson and all the Jackson's out there for seeing through that shit! Looking forward for what's to come!
I usually avoid series where the story is divided into multiple books, but I have enjoyed this one a lot.
The world-building is fascinating, and in this book, we find another group of people and their culture, which was entertaining to read and learned about.
Jackson, tho, he was such a stubborn character most of the time, but I do enjoy his character development from the start to the ending of the book. I really like Airos, and I'm invested in his past story.
Overall, it was fun to read. The action is good and the pace was also realistic, so I didn't feel rushed even tho a lot of things were happening. Looking forward to the other books!
Book 1 to 3 was a fun ride, where I couldn’t stop laughing at Kal and Tyler. I don’t think I was prepared for how intense book four would be, because I was used to that lightheartedness in Kal and Tyler’s story.
Airos and Jackson’s story was a slow burn so intense, with a hint of pain and pleasure that had you hooked and made you keep going. I couldn’t pause for a minute, I was hooked and I needed to get to the bottom of this.
I know there is more to their story, but it was nice to see how much they were both hiding underneath their protective layers of grumpiness. These two were definitely made for each other and both their backstories were heartbreaking.
You have a Phoenix shifter that sworn off the idea of ever being mated and a human omega who was bullied so much he shoved himself all the way back in this closet of denial where he swore up and down he wasn’t gay and wasn’t the tiniest bit interested in men. Yet, somehow finds himself thrown into this bizarre world of magic and shifters and he’s pregnant.
Watching both of them fight side by side, their personal conflicts, their disagreements and arguments and then slowly reaching into the depths within each other, seeing their bond slowly grow over time and them finally reaching the point were they had to acknowledge the undeniable truth was something so beautiful. I’ll forever have them ingrained in my heart.
I was really looking forward to diving back into this world and finally getting Jackson and Airos’s story, but this ended up being my least favorite book in the series so far. The pacing felt much slower compared to the first three, and since I’m not a big fan of slow burns, this one was especially tough for me to stay engaged with. It dragged in parts, and I found myself waiting a long time for things to really start moving between the characters.
That said, I loved getting Jackson’s backstory and understanding Airos better. Their journey was unique, and as it progressed, the chemistry between them started to grow.
Keep in mind, this series isn’t complete yet, so this book does end on a cliffhanger. But overall, I’m still completely invested in the series and can’t wait to see what happens next!
🖤MM 🖤Fantasy 🖤MPREG 🖤Slow Burn- Very 🖤Ends on a cliffhanger
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐ Steamy:🌶️ POV: Dual Warning⚠️: Check the TWs. Type📣: Book 4 of a series and must be read in order.
Thank god this book was released because I was in the worst reading slump I have ever been in. I'm talking started and DNFd like 8 books. But it was so nice to return to this series. I definitely think this couple and their story are not as strong as my beloved Tyler and Kalistratos, but it was still so fun. Definitely deals with heavier themes and focuses heavily on the traumas of each of the MMCs. I kind of was expecting a bit more from Airos since he's so funny and loveable as a side character in the first 3 books and was just so serious and subdued in this. But I was still able to overlook some of the more ridiculous things and small plot points to just enjoy the story and the tension and buildup between these two.
One adventure after the other, never a quiet moment! Jackson, is a former soldie whose spent his life deep in the closet. He is transported from earth to a mysterious new world where he steals to survive while trying to figure out the what, the where and the why. Airos, had vowed to never take a mate and travels with his friends Tyler and Kali to find out who is terrorizing the villagers. When they find Jackson, so do the bad guys. Delightful story of surprises, challenges, tests, battling inner demons, questions, growth, acceptance and surrender. Good show! Fine adventure, great story, nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
THE PHOENIX GUARDIANS Book 4. This Book was so worth the wait!! Jackson is an Omega who is still trying to wrap his head around this new reality. Airos is roped in to helping him manage everything. This Book is absolutely AMAZING. ASHE MOON has created a fast paced full speed ahead universe. Maneuvering in this landscape takes these men to new possibilities and unexplored paths. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THE PHOENIX GUARDIANS SERIES!!!!!
Where do I even start ... I have been waiting for this book for so long and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! There was so much action, meaning and freedom ... Complete freedom ... Jackson and Airos are like live wire, always charged and ready for battle. But they need each other, not just to survive, but to truly live.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A bit of a slow burn but we’ve still got another book for Jackson and Airos. The side quest they went on was actually quite entertaining but I’d definitely enjoy this more had I waited for all the books to be released!
I voluntarily read and ARC for this book. It is another amazing story from Ashe, I love how we get to go back and see some old faces and also get to be involved with some new ones. Personally, I love strong omegas and this is exactly what Jackson is. However that he is able to lean on Airos when he needs to, while also making him follow his lead is just brilliant! I can't wait for the next part of the story.
Airos and Jackson's relationship was a study in fate choosing the one thing they didn't want or refused to acknowledge to drop in their path. I really enjoyed watching them deal with the curve ball life threw at them. They were wonderful characters, their unexpected journey is another great addition to the series.
