Vance Anthony can write tf out of anything. His atmospheric descriptions capture you and set the scene for what's to come. And then you just have to tag along to witness those sexy erotic encounters between men. And you can tell this book is written by a queer man, which I deeply appreciate.
In this 3 short stories we enjoy very HOOOT encounters between men: first, during a heat wave, two strangers cross on the street and then end up having a drink together; second, a dog walker is found by his employer sniffing said employer's jockstrap which evolves into sexy fun times and maybe a date; third, our horny little MC gets more that what he expected after his boyfriend returns from a work trip (this one is MMM goodness).
There's a lot of olfactophilia in this book, so if it's not your thing, YOU ARE MISSING OUT!

I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect when I picked up From the Bottom by Vance Anthony. Now that I’ve finished reading these three erotic novellas, I have two key pieces of advice: first, brace yourself—these stories are seriously hot. And second, read them in private, because you might find yourself blushing (or worse) in public!
These novellas are unapologetically steamy, with the focus squarely on the erotic elements. Each story is unique, yet they complement one another beautifully, creating a collection that feels cohesive while still offering variety. As someone who loves smutty short stories, these were absolutely fabulous!
One of the standout aspects of this collection is the diversity of the scenarios. There’s something for everyone: a chance meeting between strangers that leads to shared drinks and much more, a spicy dynamic between a dog walker and his employer, and even a sizzling MMM story. Each tale brings its own flavour, ensuring that no two feel alike while still maintaining that unrelenting heat.
The writing is solid, the spice levels are off the charts, and there’s just enough of a hint of a Happily Ever After (HEA) in each story to make my romance-loving heart happy. I’m a sucker for a little hope and connection amidst all the heat, and Vance Anthony delivers.
I haven’t yet read any of this author’s full-length novels, but after this, I’m eager to dive into more of his work. I also sincerely hope he writes more smutty shorts—these were the perfect bite-sized, spicy treats for reading in between longer books. If you’re in the mood for quick, sexy, and unapologetically fun stories, From the Bottom is an absolute must-read!

This is a collection of 3 sexy short stories. The first story focuses on Joey and Louis. Manhattan is suffering through a heatwave, a blackout, and a water shortage. Escaping from his hot apartment Joey decides to go on a walk and meets Louis. You can imagine, where the story goes from there 😏
Story two is about Stevie and Enzo. Stevie is Enzo’s dog walker and when bringing Enzo’s dog back he finds some of Enzo’s underwear and is ehm.. let’s say pleasantly surprised. Enzo - who isn’t at work like Stevie believed - finds him like that and you can imagine again, where this is going.
Story three is about an already established couple. Frankie has been on a work trip for three weeks and they have the agreement that Marco isn’t allowed to take matters into his own hands during this time. So this story is pretty much the scene when Frankie comes home. Though for anyone wary: they are an exclusive couple but this story is a threesome.
Overall I got what I expected from those stories. The writing was quite good which was a pleasant surprise since I hadn’t ever read anything by this author before. For me, the sex scenes lacked a bit of emotional depth but maybe that’s just the case for me. Also, be prepared for a lot of mentioning of hairy bodies and manly smells. This is basically the red line that goes through all of the stories.

Word to the wise, have a shower or cool washcloth available when you open this book on your Kindle. And if you aren't prepared to tell the rando next to you what you are reading then find a private nook and enjoy! This is a 4.5 rounded up to a 5 for me, Chapters 2 and 3 were perfect, chapter 1 was hot but didn't really do it for me. But this series of novellas are 🥵🔥💦😉😏🤤. They are so very different from one another and the vibes vary from a chase to a misjudgement and a setup. While these were 3 completely different novellas, I could not put it down, the way they were each kept you enthralled. While yes it's about the 🍆🍑, the connection between characters that were formed regardless of the initial relationship made the encounters even hotter. You could feel every ounce of the chemistry with each set of MMCs. Each chapter seemed to build and chapter 3 is a pinnacle that never ends. Grab this and add it to your TBR now. Trust me a day you need a pick me up and you don't have a ton of time, one of all of these chapters will do the trick. This is my first book by this author and I am excited to explore his previous work and await future endeavors.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun bundle of steamy short stores.
The last one- Waiting- was my favorite. I loved the anticipation Marco felt- the buildup to when Frankie arrived and how heated things quickly became. And I loved Trent's involvement- as well as his dynamic to their relationship.
But there were aspects of the other two stories I really liked, too. In A Piece of You, I loved our- and Joey's- first sight of Luis walking down the street on that unbearably hot day. It was a siren-call moment and I loved how it was written. I thought this story had too much monologue and took to long to get these guys their alone time.
In Your Secret, I liked that Enzo was a bit shy but hid it in trying to explore a moment with Stevie after he catches him doing something he shouldn't. The ending almost made me sad until Enzo worked up his nerves to ask Stevie out. It was cute.
The encounters were hot, though some things I personally was not attracted to. This was the first book I've read by this author and I would read more. 4 stars.

Phew, y'all, this one made me sweat as much as some of the characters in this series of HOT short stories! I read Vance Anthony's debut novel a few months ago, and I jumped at the chance to read his latest release, View From the Bottom. The entire bundle is novella length, and each of the 3 spicy shorts is *chef's kiss*. The first story is about a strangers to lovers hookup during a summer blackout. Then we get a dog walker (literally) digging through his client's dirty laundry - and getting caught red-handed. The last story is about an established couple - one guy is waiting for his boyfriend to come back from a LONG trip, and when he finally shows up - he brings a friend. Vance is an incredible writer, and if you want some really well-written smut, THIS IS IT. And while each story is definitely more spice, less plot, you could see each one as part of a longer piece (and I'd be here for ANY of them). And, beyond the focus on spice, they all have at least the possibility of an HEA. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you want a shorter read to finish out the year.

I was not sure what to expect when I obtained these book. Now that I have finished reading these three erotic novellas I am two words of advice—it really is erotic (more so than plot that drives these novellas) and read in private or you might experience an embarrassing moment. These stores are hot and each three are different but complement one another. I love that the erotic focus is olpactophilia— look it up —as that focus is different than anything I have read. While all three are good, my favorite was novella two where client is caught sniffing his employer’s jockstrap and the story from that. Again do not read in public as it is that good. I did receive ARC and leave this honest review.

I love smutty shorts and these were fab! I haven't yet read this author's full length novel, but I definitely want to do so now. Also, I hope he will write more smutty shorts because I loved these!! The writing itself is solid, the spicy is spicy, and best of all, there's at least a hint of HEA, which I love because I'm a sap. There's something for everyone in these selection....one story has strangers who end up getting a drink together after crossing paths, another has a dog walker and his employer, and the third is MMM! I love to read stories like these in between longer works and these were just perfect, bite-szied spicy goodness.

This was a fun, spicy read from a new to me author. I did like the writing style overall, it moves quickly and has good pacing. I’d say, for me, it was a pretty light read as I wasn’t really too invested in any of the characters. I enjoyed the first story the most as the author perfectly captured the oppressiveness of a heat wave in NYC, plus I love a good bar hook up. A fun idea, I loved a good collection of short stories and this was a perfect escapist kind of read!

Three short stories and all of them excellent. The second one is definitely my favourite. What was unexpected was the romance aspect, even if it only appeared at the end of a story (if the characters had only just met). Most erotic shorts are just that and the romance is non-existent, but Vance sprinkles it in amongst descriptive prose and absolutely nails it within the theme of the story.

Full disclosure: sweat is not sexy to me, so this collection of shorts was not to my taste from the start. Add in that every aspect of every scene was described to death, I was only able to read most of one story. There were many instances of an entire 3-4 line paragraph being only one long, overly descriptive run-on sentence. Some nouns had three, even four adjectives! I just did not jive with this writer’s style. Will avoid in the future!

Three erotic short works in which the author is wonderfully able to set scene and mood. The first two take place during heatwaves and you can feel how the temperatures put the characters on edge and make them willing to take some risks to work off their nervous energy. The last concerns a couple who have an arrangement when one travels for work. We get to witness how one particular return plays out.

There was a lot of smelling going on in all three stories. Smelling of armpits after a city wide power outage 🫢, smelling a used jockstrap, smelling armpits and crotch areas after a day of traveling. These stories weren’t bad they had good steamy scenes. There’s not alot of dialogue. A lot of description which was ok but not my favorite.

Well that was a nice surprise! I was expecting a low quality smutty read but instead I got three great stories that were well written and had underlying plots! Yes I still got plenty of smut and steam but an enjoyable collection.

There is plenty of heat in this group of three short stories. For how short each one was, the author managed not to make things seem rushed or unfinished. Each story is different and appeals in a different way for each one. I thought they were well written and the characters displayed plenty of heat between the sheets.
