Seize the tempest. I’ve spent my life doing just that—harnessing wind and lightning to protect the vulnerable. But I’ve never quite belonged. The son of an elven mother and human father, I straddle two realms: the elven lands where I’m shunned as an outsider, and the human world where I’m viewed as useful but suspect. Forbidden to take a wife or sire children, my service as a celibate knight has given me purpose.
But now, I’ve been summoned to dangerous territory.
When the lords of the Spring Court ask me to aid in their battle against the monsters that threaten both of our worlds, I answer the call—and step into a whirlwind of duty and desire. The politics of the Spring Court are as volatile as the storms that surround the kingdom. But my forbidden attraction to King Tanyl poses the most risk. As charming and gallant as I remember, he draws me like a parched man to water. And when I meet his alluring queen, I find myself entangled in a web of powerful magic I’m ill-prepared to resist.
Torn between piety and desire, I must fight a war on two fronts. As the monsters multiply and Tanyl’s crown is threatened by enemies from within, I’ll risk everything to help my friend and his wife. But as blood flows and betrayal comes from an unexpected source, I’m confronted with a bitter truth. I can keep my life, my vows, or my heart—but I can’t keep all three. And when the storm finally passes, I might end up losing everything.

4.7 Stars ⭐ A MMF fantasy romance with royalty, priests, faes, monsters, some humans too, second chances, secrets, betrayals, mystery & twists! I'd immediately started the book when I saw its trope graphic at Amy's instagram, like it's totally my type 😍. I fully devoured it in like 9-10hrs, even looped back to read the 1st 2 ch next day, which I'd previously skipped to get to the *meet* faster.
Tanyl is the Fae king, who's dominant, jaded (ugh, meany!) but loves hard & filthy. Sylvie is his Fae queen, she's pious, quietly observant but also fierce (which I loved!). Briar is a rule-following warrior-priest, a Fae-Human hybrid who's so good, sweet (& hurting 😩). I like that they all have their faults & quirks.
With the clashing personalities, it's always interesting. T' past with B & present with S collides! I loved those relationships, how they resolve truths, hurts, "missing you" 😭 & teases 🤣. The only relationship that needed to be grown on-page was B+S which started strong but ended up feeling insta to me, sadly. The chemistry between the 3 is great tho! I do think T can be too harsh & needed to apologize more 😤 (IYKYK). I liked dom/subs & it's heavy on humiliation kink 😅! So freaking hot 🥵.
Th plot with monsters was cool, with gosh darn that climax & it's twist 😳! Unexpectedly dramatic & emotional 🥺. I liked it was a full circle moment. I wished there were prequels that showed Tanyl falling for B then S, as this felt like the 3rd chapter in a saga (with 1st: T+B, 2nd: T+S). We do get some flashes, but I was craving a full blown flash-back atleast, T's got interesting meet-cutes with his "great loves" lol. I still hope for bonuses 👀.
I read this as a standalone & didn't see much connection with others in series, except being in same world. The ending's fast but satisfies the plot, the epilogue's hot & lovely!
Story ratings: Enjoyed—> Yes! POV: 1st person, Triple POV 1) The Characters & relationship: 4.7/5 2) The feels: 😗😋😌🥺😳🙁🥵😤🤨😉🥰😩😬😍🤕🤯🤗 3) Sexy/Steamy scenes: 4/5 4) Levels: Mild-Moderate Angst, Sorta Cute, Moderate Dark/Action 5) Build up & Style: 4.5/5
Amy continues to snore great characters that have a past together, and manages to evolve. I am loving the entire series with each new realm comes a new throuple (Tanyl, Briar, and Sylvia). I DEVOUR the books every time! A king, a priest, and their queen? YES PLEASE!!Because of Amy, I’m now obsessed with elves and I’m not the least bit sorry!! Anything Amy writes, I’m here for it. The adventure, love, betrayal, and vengeance make this story unputdownable!! Ready to contribute to adventure.

While The Shadowbound King is still my favorite Amy Pennza book because of how much it reminded me of Beauty and the Beast, this one has to come in as a second favorite.
As with all her books, and particular with the Realms of the Covenant series, Pennza delivers when it comes to spice. This is another solid MMF romance, and I appreciate that even though all the other books in this series are also MMF, she manages to make the relationships all unique, as well as the struggles the characters face in trying to work through the issues that they face with respect to their relationship.
This is easily the most action-packed of Pennza’s books, at least of the ones that I’ve read. While her heroines are by no means weak or meek in the other books, I really enjoyed seeing Sylvie being fully involved in the battles and being a badass warrior queen in a way that I don’t remember in her other books.
As far as the plot goes, I could see some of the conflict and twists coming, but there were definitely some of the big ones that I didn’t anticipate. I don’t want to say too much to avoid spoilers, but I always appreciate being taken by surprise with the direction of a book as happened here.
Many thanks to BookSirens for the chance to read a free advanced review copy and to voluntarily leave this review.
Should've DNF'd. The spice is good, but the fundamentals of each standalone in this series are not varied enough to convince me I didn't read the same book three times.
This was hard to get through. I really disliked all the main characters. I especially hated the cheating. And while I liked the female narrator, I really didn’t like the male narration. So this book was disappointing and I hope the last book in the series is better than this nightmare.
Oh, Amy Pennza—you glorious, devious sorceress of steam and swords. The Stormbound Knight (Book 3 in the Realms of the Covenant series) doesn’t just raise the stakes—it sets them on fire, fans the flames, and then tosses in an Elven King, a Warrior Priest, and a deceptively docile Queen who could command empires with a whisper.
Let’s get one thing straight: yes, you could read this book as a stand-alone. But why rob yourself of the full, intoxicating build-up that Books 1 and 2 offer? Don’t be that reader. Do the homework. Reap the rewards.
This installment delivers a delicious ménage of emotions and… other more physical endeavors. The relationship between Sylvie, Tanyl, and Briar is not for the faint of heart or those seeking “nice” romance. It’s raw, it’s wrenching, it’s five-alarm spicy—and somehow still deeply tender. One moment you’re clutching your pearls, the next you’re clutching your chest because of the sheer emotional gravity.
Sylvie, our quiet little queen with a spine of steel, steals the spotlight. I live for a strong female main character hiding behind wide eyes and whispered prayers, only to unsheathe her metaphorical (and literal) sword when all hell breaks loose. And break loose it does—demons, both internal and otherwise, abound.
Pennza has a gift for weaving lore, lust, and love into a fantasy landscape that feels lush and lived-in. She doesn’t just write books; she crafts obsessions. And The Stormbound Knight is proof that she's not slowing down.
Bottom line? If you like your fantasy scorching, your heroes scarred, and your queens quietly lethal—The Stormbound Knight is your next addiction. Bow down, babes. The Queen of MMF has spoken.
This is Book 3 in The Realms of the Covenant series and although you could read it as a stand-alone, I strongly suggest you read Books 1& 2 to get the full impact of the world building and history. You won’t be sorry you did. Ms Pennza has written a compelling story of the intertwined lives of an Elven King and Queen and a Warrior Priest. It is a tale of yearning, love, betrayal, redemption and acceptance and the personal demons they all must battle. Not to mention the actual demons they must fight to save the inhabitants on either side of the Covenant. I always love that Ms Pennza writes such strong FMCs often disguised as compliant and soft-spoken characters. Sylvie is a Warrior Queen beneath her quiet, pious demeanour and she is integral to the salvation of the men she loves as well as the land she rules. The relationship between Tanyl, Sylvie and Briar can only be described as intense. If you want sweet, vanilla spice then this is not the book for you. However, if you want complex emotions combined with explicit, sometimes disturbing, 5 chili pepper spice then this is a book you definitely want to read. As always, Ms Pennza conveys not only the heated desire but also the depth of the love the characters have for each other with amazing elegance. Ultimately, the love that Tanyl, Sylvie and Briar share will see them through to their happy ending. I received a free advanced review copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Amy Pennza delivers yet another steamy triumph in The Stormbound Knight! Known as the reigning queen of MMF romance, she doesn't disappoint with this bold, sultry installment. The story sizzles with an irresistible dynamic: a dominant elven king, his loyal submissive queen, and a stormy knight caught in their passionate web.
Following in the footsteps of the previous books in the series, The Stormbound Knight explores the intense, emotional, and physical bonds between elves and humans. Pennza masterfully blends fantasy world-building with deliciously spicy scenes that will leave fans breathless.
The chemistry is electric, the power dynamics are perfectly balanced, and the romance is as heartfelt as it is hot. Whether you’re new to the series or a longtime fan, this book is a must-read. Amy Pennza proves once again why she's the queen of MMF.
Ready for another wild ride through passion and power? You’ll want to clear your schedule for this one.

Very much looking forward to the next book in this series. While some might find the themes redundant I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find enough variety in each book to keep me coming back for more. I’ve discovered a liking for MMF love stories although the balance can be tricky. I don’t mind MM scenes but when they are the dominant spice or primary focus I tend to skim over and skip scenes. While this series is heavy on the spice sometimes there can be too much of a good thing. Author does a good job giving variety but when similar scenarios play out over and over it gets hard to keep engaged. There tends to be a theme of dominant and submissive roles in each book but always favoring the males as the dominant character…while the author gives her female characters plenty of power and influence it would be nice to see the MMF coupling but with the female as the dominant and the males as the submissive’s.
A great story. This third book of the Covenant is amazing. Tanyl is the King of the Spring Court and has been trying to get rid of the scarrok who is killing the people. When Priest Briar shows up to offer help with the scarroks, it forces Tanyl to reveal is secret that he kept from Sylvie. The attraction that Tanyl and Briar have gets complicated when Briar is attracted to Sylvie too. The connection between the three is super hot, with Briar questioning his devotion to the priesthood. When the danger moves in close to the castle, betrayal will test the trust and could tear them apart. I enjoyed reading this book.

'As always, Tanyl saw through me. The passage of fifty years was nothing. He saw everything, stripping me bare more thoroughly than Saltvale's unforgiving sun and wind.'
I loved this book. Great world being and I loved Briar, Tanyl, and Sylvie. Loved the dynamic and chemistry and connection between them. They story was fast-paced with action, suspense, danger, and some twists I didn't see coming. I was captivated with Briar's mental fight between his inner desires and what he deemed right. The heat between these three when they came together was delicious. Any Pennza's bedroom scenes are always hot!
A great continuation to this series. The ending made me emotional because they were. I can't wait until the next book. 5 stars.
This book pulled me in right from the start. I loved that it began with an established couple, which felt like a refreshing change. The FMC is fierce, strong, and easy to adore, and the dynamic between Tanyl and Briar added so much depth to the story. I really enjoyed seeing how the bond between the three of them developed over time; it felt natural and emotional, with just the right mix of tension and connection.
The story was gripping and full of passion and power, with Amy Pennza’s signature touch when it comes to writing steamy scenes. She really knows how to balance spice with emotion. While the first book is still my favorite, this one comes in as a very close second. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can’t wait for the next installment!
This was my least favourite of the series. The story wasn't as good as in the previous books, and the characters were a bit foolish.
The romance was the worst part of it. The king and queen of spring have been married for 45 years and barely knew each other. And there was cheating. The king cheated on his wife with his ex-lover. Then, he tried to hide it and accused her of being unfaithful. When she found out that her husband cheated on her, she was like, "Yay, let's have a threesome." It felt so wrong and ruined the book for me. The I-love-you-s after that felt quite shallow.
The writing was good, and there was still a decent story and spice, so I finished the book but did not enjoy it as much as the first 2 books in the series.

Amy Pennza is one of the few writers who I know to read immediately after a new release. This book was no exception. Her characters are always deliciously emotionally deep and complex, with back stories full of yearning and connection. I just love the way she creates her stories to have wonderful plots, but also incredible spicy love scenes that make you kick your feet and squeal with the longing and tension. It's so hard to find stories that can deliver on plot, emotional depth and spice, but she does it every single time. The Stormbound Knight is fabulous, probably only second to the Bitten and Bound trilogy in my opinion. Can't wait for the fourth book in a few months!!
★”Everything I wasn’t supposed to want stood before me.“★
“Everything.” Another riveting romantasy series comes to its thrilling ending. This forbidden triad finds the answers to their questions and have many challenging battles ahead as well as kept secrets which they have to overcome in order to reach their HEA. More than one enemy force is at play, most certainly. As always, very alluring characters and well-told stories for all three of the installments in this series! I had caught up on KU and dove right into this last book. Sylvie holds her own against all enemy forces, and love triumphs for her, Briar the warrior-priest, and the powerful King Tanyl of the Spring Court.
Amy yet again delivers another fabulous read in the realms of the covenant series.
The Stormbound Knight is book three and based in the spring realm. Amy sends us through an emotional rollercoaster full of monsters, blood, curses, magic, and betrayals.
An elvish King and his Queen end up in a throuple with a Knight from the Kings past and wow the chemistry is intense, the spice is scorching, the power dynamics are just perfect, you wont regret reading this captivating read, once you get your teeth in you wont stop.
This is the 3rd book in the series although it can be read as a standalone. This time
Set in the Spring court and centres around King Tanyl, Queen Sylvie and the warrior priest Briar.
The plot of this one is my favourite so far, I was immediately pulled in. A few twists and surprises especially further into the book. Warning the book is super spicy. This is the only author I’ve read MMF books by, the relationships are done very well. Looking forward to the 4th book.
I received an advanced review copy of this book and leave this review voluntarily.
Very good story. I just struggled with the betrayal/cheating …. That’s the biggest reason for 4 rating & a note of 4.5. It also seemed the mmc’s were always more into each other … no one seemed to “find” time to be with the FMC alone …that w the obvious cheating made it impossible for me to rate it a 5. Truthfully not even a 4.5
To each to their own BUT hey I guess some guys like boy puss more than girl puss or girl swirly type holes …. Poor mfc😢 situation was just so sad in my opinion….
Elf and Halfling and Love WOW, another complex and captivating book by Amy Pennza, I’ve loved them all and all have taking me on a thrilling and captivating road to a HEA. An Elven King and Queen, a Halfling Priest, Gods and Monsters, what else do you want? Oh, well, and lots of hot MMF scenes and also bad family members and unforeseen traitorous others. Highly recommended! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Briar, a Rivven priest, has had a history with King Tanyl of the Spring Court, while he also fights his attraction to the queen, Sylvie. Together they must fight the Scarrok that has cursing their land. Like all the books in the series so far, it involves MMF with some sword crossing. The plot was well done with a twist and the characters were well rounded. Love the book and the series.

The Stormbound knight is another great addition to the Realms of the Covenant series with so much turmoil and yearning as Briar, Tanyl and Sylvie try to reconcile their love with their duty amidst political unrest and devastating attacks by the Scarrok. A seriously hot MMF read with great chemistry between the characters, an unpredictable plot twist at the end and a satisfying HEA! Loved it!

The Spring Court is a kingdom under siege - monsters attack from the water and tensions grow from within. So when Sir Briar from Rivven comes to King Talyn and Queen Sylvie to offer help, secrets are uncovered and passions ignited, and a prophecy unravels. As always, this story engrossed me from page one; Amy Pennza crafts a rich and entrancing world, with intense characters and surprising storylines. A fantastic story.
This is probably my second favourite, if not the most favourite after shadowbound. But who am I kidding I just read these 2 only lol. It has everything religious zealots, innocent yet powerful queen albeit smut here and there, i didn’t feel bored at all. TW the cheating was not really a turn off because i headed into this book knowing they will all be together, if not that would’ve been the deal breaker. Amy Pennza is now added to small list of my fav writers.
The Stormbound Knight is the third book in the Realms of the Covenant series. I enjoyed it as much as the first two. The complex plot and characters are all well written. Lots of twists and turns, danger and of coursee, HEAT. Great series.

Amy’s books never fail to amaze me! The story telling, the smutty scenes , the characters are always so good and just when I think one book is my favorite her next one tops it! If you have a priest kink and love the idea of a husband and wife inviting him into their bed with major dom/sub energy then this is the book for you. 10 out of 10
Amy continues on her realms. Briar, Sylvia, and Tanyl will capture your interest from the beginning. Priests, Gods,Goddesses, monsters and Elves with some SPICE will have you wanting more. I didn’t want to put this book down! Their story tells the tale of timeless love that stands the test of time and treachery. Come and be a part of the Spring Court and let the adventure begin.
The spice is fantastic but the plot as i keep getting further into this series… meh. The description of the books has more structure and depth. We do read these books for one thing though right? I have mixed emotions about this series since i have a deep love for mythical creatures and strong magic systems maybe… maybe i am wanting it to be more than what it’s meant to be.
This was good, I love a proud bisexual king (literally and figuratively) and the execution of their relationship was unique. My main gripes were self-flagellation gives me the major ick and idk, the whole brother thing came a little out of left field for me.
3rd instalment in this series and my favourite so far. This book deals with shame and guilt and how hard we are on ourselves. The plot was really good, very engaging, and the love heartbreaking at times. I thought this was just a beautiful story, well worth a read. 👍
