Peter Allen David, often abbreviated PAD, was an American writer of comic books, novels, television, films, and video games. His Star Trek work included comic books and novels such as the New Frontier book series. His other novels included film adaptations, media tie-ins, and original works, such as the Apropos of Nothing and Knight Life series. His television work includes series such as Babylon 5, Young Justice, Ben 10: Alien Force and Nickelodeon's Space Cases, which he co-created with Bill Mumy.
David often jokingly described his occupation as "Writer of Stuff", and he was noted for his prolific writing, characterized by its mingling of real-world issues with humor and references to popular culture, as well as elements of metafiction and self-reference.
David earned multiple awards for his work, including a 1992 Eisner Award, a 1993 Wizard Fan Award, a 1996 Haxtur Award, a 2007 Julie Award and a 2011 GLAAD Media Award.

It has some beautiful art and interesting back matter (and front matter) explaining the relevance and role of the Epic Mickey games, but ultimately the stories themselves are pretty forgettable - plus there's the added challenge of portraying a game's musical style songs on paper, which just doesn't work here. The relationship between Mickey and Oswald is the best thing about the stories, but some of its choices on what parts of the story to focus on mean that many of the most impressive environments of the games are completely missed here. I guess if the goal of the book is to make me want to play the games (again) it kind of succeeds. But on its own, it's more of a historical oddity than a story that stands on its own.

This book kind of sucks. I’m still glad I read it because I’ll eat up anything epic Mickey related, but the graphic novel portions of the book were terrible. The epic Mickey 2 graphic novel was better than the epic Mickey 1 one though.

The best part of this is the collection of comics at the beginning of the book, which are a prequel to the original game. I think this is a nice book to just have, as these comics were digital only up until now, but I can see why the original physical release for the graphic novel was cancelled. There’s just not much to it.

I love everything involving Epic Mickey media, in fact I still own a 1st generation Wii, just so I can play the games when I feel like it. I bought the Rebrushed edition for my switch, I literally can NOT overstate my love for this game and the universe it's in. This is the cutest collection of comics I have seen in a while, abnd absolutely triggered my nostalgia for the game. I can't wait to start a new game. This also brought me out of my reading slump, so 10 stars.

Such a beautiful love letter to Disney, both past and present. The collection would already be amazing with just the two adaptations of the video games, but it also includes the prequel comics and background history on the games and the forgotten characters. As a kid who grew up with the games and loved Oswald the Lucky Rabbit — this was a nice treat!

A quick, fun, abridged retelling of the events in the awesome Epic Mickey video game. I do wish that it had been a bit longer and included more scenes, battles. and events from the game. But it was still a fun, quick read.
