Get ready for some sassy demon humor paired with a forbidden slow burn romance and mystery.
There’s a lot that Morgana wants to do in her new, sleepy home in Maine: read a ton of books, make some new friends, and get to know the town’s local bookstore. But witnessing a man getting murdered right in front of her eyes is definitely not part of her plans. Neither is that the killer turns out to be her classmate. Heath and Morgana are stuck together for better or for worse. And Morgana is sure it’s the latter. Especially when there’s no proof that the murder actually happened.
Morgana knows that there is something truly wrong with Heath. But as much as she tries to find his secrets out, the more she seems to run into walls. It doesn’t help that her classmate is absolutely swoon-worthy and has a sense of humor and an infuriating smirk that is to die for. She needs to find out what’s going on with Heath and his reasons for appearing anywhere she goes. Before it’s too late.

— thank you so much to marie lau for sending me an arc <3
i was immediately invested in this from the start; this book was fun and very easily to read/understand! overall a lighthearted and humorous romance with some fantasy elements splashed in!
i loved how the fmc, morgana (beautiful name by the way) was a fellow book lover!! she was very relatable and it honestly felt like i was talking to a book bestie! i did feel as if all the bookish talk got a bit repetitive after a while tho.
i was instantly intrigued by the mmc, heath, from the very first introduction! he brought in the sass and i liked the banter between him and morgana!
the concept on demons was quite intriguing! i’ve never read a fantasy with them before so it was definitely fun! eric was definitely my favorite and would’ve loved more of that man!!
now the ending… i did NOT see that coming and i honestly did love the twist but WHATTTTTTT?! i literally blanked stared at the wall i was NOT PREPARED!!! i was waiting for the next page to say sike hahaha right? WRONG oh that kinda broke me a little
now while i did like this book i just felt like i wasn’t the target audience for this if that makes sense, it read quite younger and i don’t usually gravitate towards young adult anymore BUT I WILL SAY i would’ve ate this up if i’d read it as a teenager!! overall i just found some moments a little cringey + a lot of modern references which im usually not a fan of in books! none of this took away from my enjoyment and i would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a humorous romance with some twists!

Also, as the author i feel absolutely okay with rating it to my liking 😂
Wow! I cannot express how much fun I had reading this!!! Definitely one of my new favorite romantasy reads.
First and foremost.. the MMC of this book was *chefs kiss* 🔥 Heath easily climbed my book boyfriend latter. The banter, flirting, and HUMOR of this man was top tier. I feel like every time he was speaking I was highlighting.
For me, I absolutely love reading about a FMC that I can relate to. Morgana had so much growth throughout this book and I loved it. From a shy bookworm to really understanding her potential and the confidence that comes with it.
I also enjoyed how the author threw in pop culture references without making it “too much” or “cringy”… I feel like it was subtle enough to be the perfect amount of relevant references that I really liked.
Without saying too much.. THE PLOT TWIST INDEED TWISTED… I was shook… I also don’t know if i’ll ever emotionally recover.. but hey, that’s what makes a great book 😅
This was a lot of fun and gave similar vibes to TVD which I love that show! The characters are young, like in TVD so they do reference contemporary things(social media, shows, etc.). I enjoyed myself while reading this paranormal fantasy romance, and it was exactly what I needed! Coming off a lot of heavier books I really appreciated something that was fun and flirty while still having a good storyline!
