Has a book ever made you so emotional and nostalgic that you cried? To me, it happened while reading this book.
The Hundred Acre Kingdom is a sequel to Winnie the Pooh, following the adventures of Christopher Robin’s daughter, Clover. On a dark and stormy night, Cristopher introduces his daughter to two friends that helped him when he was scared: a small pig and a bear. (Recognize them?) So clover creates a new world with her father’s toys, and transforms the Hundred Acre in a world with castles, knights and fantastical beasts where she can be a brave hunter. But then a terrible threat comes for the Kingdom…
The hardcover looks like a beautiful, magical storybook, complete with gorgeous illustrations on the inside. Reading the physical book rather than an ebook made the experience even more magical. Going back to the Hundred Acre after all these years, seeing the characters I loved as a child (and still do) and seeing them reimagined, the themes of growing up, the inevitability of change…it all hit me right in the feels. When I finished the book, I was in tears. I was ugly crying.
If you loved Winnie the Pooh too, and you also love stories with knights and adventure, you want to check out this little treasure of a book.
Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. Opinions are my own.
