This feels like a completely different story from the last few books in the series which already felt like a completely different story than the first books in the series. It switched from fantasy, to sci-fi, back to pseudo fantasy. The same sentences are repeated and the same adjectives and nouns are used in the same ways multiple times. Whole paragraphs are copied in other places. Same metaphors and similes used to describe everything. I’m pretty sure one of the main characters died a few books back, but then she suddenly showed up again like nothing happened. The main character also seems like a completely different person and he thinks himself much more intelligent than he actually is. There’s really not any good strategies used against the aliens. Way too much friendly fire in the last couple of books too. I think I’m gonna a have to bow out of this one.
Read all 10 and that is the highlight. Lot’s of potential but the spelling, grammar, and duplicate paragraphs just ruin it. I think the author also picks a new word in each book and tries to see how many times they can use it in that book.
