A violent plane crash throws Phinya and Busaya—former PhD classmates turned fierce rivals—into a tense reunion on the remote forensic field. Tasked with identifying the deceased, they find themselves tangled in the secrets of a mysterious skull, discovered far from where it belongs. Amidst the perilous circumstances and the haunting duty they share, something shifts in their unyielding gazes. What was once resentment slowly stirs into a tender, unspoken connection, as if fate itself has set the stage for their reluctant bond to ignite against all odds.
came for the romance, stayed for the anthropology. i love how detailed and educational this was. i’ve learned so many new terminologies i feel smart and enlightened (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ*.゚
Phin was lowkey a red flag in the beginning but oh my god i love her?? I love her humor, her witty comebacks, and how she turns into an obedient little puppy whenever Bua asks her to do something ♡(˃͈ ˂͈ )
overall, it was better than expected!
it’s a pleasant read and i can’t wait to watch the series ♡
The entire story is at most only 50 pgs long. Barely a concept of a story. The rest is just unnecessary fluff and padding with so much repetition, I almost gave up multiple times. At first I thought it might be a translation error. But when the same fact was repeated for the 200th time, I realized it was the author's doing. The book does have some good lines on how human evolution has sadly resulted in a species driven by insatiable greed. The love story did not really bloom slowly. It started out of nowhere. And then it was the same dialogs and thoughts on repeat until the very end. Good concept. Terrible story telling.
3.5 - 4 Stars I pick up this book, because one of my favorite GL couple are gonna play as a character of this novel adaptation.
Overall, the whole story is okay with a hint of thriller and mysteries, with added condiment such as enemy to lover trope, gaining back each other trust, and reconciliation from past tragedies. I may picture this book as a light bite novel.
The things that I didn't feel satisfied about this book are how the story unfold and how the reconciliation between two MC were told.
The things is, I think there are certain parts of this novel that could be cut short and theres certain parts of it that maybe could be more elaborated. Like how, weird the phenomenon that happens to them, and certain facts and keys that maybe could give them the Idea of whos the puppeter. But fine, maybe the stories itself is more focus on the romance rather than in the mysteries and thriller part.
Sadly, even in the romance parts. I have certain issues with it, like the way two mc work with each other and straighten out their problem from the past. Even though it start with something impulsive, and one of them is being hard, I think the progression of their love stories should show more depth. But through the whole stories, it seems that one of them give mixed signal and the other are trying their hardest to just pay for old past sin. From my perspective, both of them are at false, but the whole journey is leaning toward making one of the MCs are bitchier than the other. And I dont feel the giddiness of the enemy to lover trope in this book.
With all of the reason above, I sadly cannot give score higher than between 3.5 - 4. I hope the series will fix the certain plot and making it into a better deliver story.
no sé si es el libro como tal o la traducción pero lo encontré muy confuso en ciertas partes, muchas veces me pasó que no sabía quien decía qué cosa, ojalá con la serie le suban el nivel
I think giving it 3 stars is even generous. I do believe the translation was not done correctly so I don’t want to be too hard on this. There were certain parts that I was confused by the dialogue and what was going on but I think it was due to the badly written translation.
Either way the story was not quite there. It did not dive too deep into anything. Not into the thriller, not the characters, and not on the romance. The pacing was weirdly flat. Like there was no sense of urgency at any point. I wish there was more character development or more communication. Everything was just impulsively done and moved on like whatever with no explanations…
I think the idea was an okay one but the execution was not the best. I honestly was feeling so whatever with the thriller parts because the technical words and facts were being repeated again and again. Too many words but nothing was said?
Me dieron expectativas altas.
