A book addict from way back, I cut my teeth on fairy tales and C.S. Lewis, skipping class to hang out in the library. Later, I moved on to Tolkein and Twain. During graduate school, I only had time to read Anthropology books, so it wasn't until later I got hooked on Mysteries and Thrillers. Michael Conneally's Bosch, Sue Grafton's Kinsey Milhone, C.J. Box, J.A. Jance's Sheriff Brady, and Nevada Barr's Anna Pigeon. I don't know about you, but I burned through those books as fast as I could discover a new series. Still do!

But it wasn't until I had a serious back injury that I realized how important well-written stories were to me. I could get lost in a good book. They kept my mind off of things over which I had not control. And even though they were pure fiction, the ones with strong, female protagonists inspired me to overcome my own hurdles in life. I realized I not only enjoyed reading them, but I wanted to write books like that.

Somewhere during that time, the character of Logan McKenna began to take shape, eventually turning into my first book of the Logan series, SHATTERED. With 8 books and a novella prequel in the series so far, I am grateful readers have enjoyed getting to know Logan and friends and keep buying the books, allowing me to do what I love. I am rarely happier than when I am at my keyboard, headphones clamped on my head, listening to ocean waves crashing on rocks (my go-to white noise), allowing the story to flow out of my fingertips.

I also love to hear from readers. It may take a while due to my research and writing schedule, but I will answer!

My husband and I live in our dream forest cottage on the Oregon coast with our dog, Finn. We have six children and numerous grandchildren, grand dogs and a few grand cats. When I'm not at the computer, I'm usually out walking Finn or in the kitchen trying new recipes.

What do you do when one of your closest friends is implicated in a murder? This is the central question in LOOK AGAIN, the tenth instalment of the Logan McKenna Mystery series. I've been following this series from the beginning, and I can confidently say that each book surpasses the last. While not necessary, I highly recommend starting with the first book to fully understand Logan, the characters, and their backgrounds.
In this latest instalment, Logan is caught in a complex web of lies, deceit, and secrets. She is determined to prove her friend's innocence, even when everything she holds dear is at stake. Logan must navigate incredibly challenging circumstances and confront a notorious gangster boss from the underground. With so many potential threats surrounding her, solving this case to save her friend may prove an insurmountable task.
Filled with intrigue, drama, tension, and danger, this fast-paced crime tale will keep your heart racing and provide a truly suspenseful reading experience.

Valerie Davisson’s Look Again is a masterfully crafted mystery that combines the serene beauty off the Oregon coast with the dark undertones of murder, secrets, and danger. The fifth book in the Logan McKenna series, it delivers a gripping and emotionally charged story that will keep readers guessing until the very end.

The novel begins with an idyllic scene: Logan McKenna enjoying a morning run with her loyal rescue dog, Dixon. But this peaceful moment is quickly shattered when she stumbles upon a brutal murder at a local dog training camp. From that moment on, Davisson hooks the reader, propelling Logan—and us—into a labyrinth of lies, hidden connections, and escalating threats.

Logan is an immensely relatable and compelling protagonist. Her determination to clear her friend Oletta Hartley’s name showcases her fierce loyalty and sense of justice. Oletta, a skilled dog and horse trainer with secrets of her own, is a fascinating character, and Davisson builds her story with a delicate balance of suspicion and sympathy. The dynamic between Logan and Oletta is one of the book’s highlights, adding emotional depth to the high-stakes investigation.

The stakes rise dramatically as Logan uncovers the Hartley family’s ties to a dangerous mob boss from New Jersey. This unexpected thread adds a layer of suspense and a wider scope to the story, intertwining local drama with organized crime. Davisson skillfully manages this complexity, ensuring each twist feels both surprising and inevitable. The pacing is tight, and the action ramps up as Logan’s daughter and grandson are pulled into the killer’s sights, making the mystery feel deeply personal.

The setting plays a pivotal role in Look Again, with the rugged beauty of the Oregon coast juxtaposed against the story’s grim events. Davisson’s evocative descriptions transport readers to the windswept beaches and forested trails, making the environment feel like another character in the story—both sheltering and foreboding.

One of the novel’s greatest strengths is its exploration of human nature. Each character, from the suspects to the victim, is layered and complex, with motives that feel genuine and relatable. This attention to detail enhances the story’s realism and keeps readers invested in uncovering the truth.

Look Again is a thrilling addition to the Logan McKenna series that stands strongly on its own. Davisson’s ability to weave suspense, heartfelt relationships, and a rich sense of place results in a mystery that’s as engaging as it is emotionally resonant. Fans of character-driven mysteries and gripping whodunits will find this book impossible to put down.

In summary, Look Again is a tightly plotted, atmospheric mystery that delivers on every front: a strong heroine, a gripping story, and a resolution that feels both satisfying and earned. Highly recommended for fans of mysteries with heart and grit.

Look Again is the tenth book in the Logan McKenna Mystery series by Valerie Davisson. Here, we follow Logan McKenna on another intriguing murder mystery with crime and investigation, danger, dramatic developments, tension, tangled web of lies and deceit, a cunning & ruthless adversary, challenges, high stakes, time running out, tension, and intrigue,
Again, at the risk of sounding repetitive, because I say this with every new instalment, but this series really does get better and better with each new instalment.
We know that trouble seems to follow Logan wherever she goes, and her sleuthing skills often get a workout. So, it’s no surprise that in this tenth addition to the series, Logan McKenna stumbles on a body while at the local dog training camp- and subsequently finds herself on a mission to help her friend who has become the prime suspect in the murder. But when the investigation starts to unearth troubling details, Logan finds herself up against a cunning and ruthless adversary, not only earning a target on her back, but may have unwittingly put her loved ones in danger as well. With the clock ticking, she will need to use all her skills in order to uncover the truth before it's too late. Logan is about to find herself tested like never before.
Even though this is the tenth book in the series, it could be read as a standalone without feeling like you are ‘missing’ anything. But having said that, Logan has led us on a lot of intriguing investigations over the course of the series- where we discover a lot about her personality, background, family, motivations, relationships, and character. So, I recommend reading the previous books to get a fuller appreciation of Logan- as well as appreciating the other intriguing mysteries she has taken us on.
The series contains:
-Bella: An Appalachian Love Story (Book #0 – 0.5)
-Jagged Dawn (Book #0.5)
-Shattered (Book #1)
-Forrest Park (Book #2)
-Devil’s Claw (Book #3)
-Vanishing Day (Book #4)
-Safe Harbor (Book #5)
-Lies That Bind (Book #6)
-Whisper Creek (Book #7)
-In Plain Sight (Book #8)
-Lost and Found (Book #9)
-Look Again (Book #10)
Wonder what Logan will get up to next?
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Valerie Davisson!

This is book 10 in the series and it can be read as a stand alone. I absolutely love this author and would highly recommend reading the entire series because you can definitely see the evolution of the main character. That being said this book also shows the growth that everyone likes to see in the main character. They end the book in a better situation than they were when it started. This book starts with the character just wanting to have some down time from all the activity in the previous novels. That definitely doesn't happen at all. There is an event that happens that requires the main characters help. During trying to figure out the event, there are twists and turns that you as the reader don't expect or you really thought they were going to go in a different direction. I absolutely loved that. I felt like I had it all figured out but then WHAM something else happens and it was not on my bingo card for this book. The whole series is like this, so I should have figured that out by now but I still like trying to think I have like some sort of telepathy with the author and can figure out where they are going before they get there in the book. If anything this author has taught me that I am not as good at doing that as I thought. lol. If you like suspense, mystery, lots of action, wonderful characters, twists, turns, and character development, read this book. Read the whole series. It is amazing and you won't be disappointed.

I read this as a standalone, and didn’t feel confused. If anything, I was intrigued even more about the others to get more of the backstories. I enjoyed the way this book was written so much that it was easy to get sucked into the story line and really be able to picture what’s going on.
I was interested from the start and enjoyed all the twists and turns. The backstory is great, the characters are fun with lots of personality and you feel like you get to know each of them.
Logan has a great group of friends with Sam and Jean and is focusing on staying active with her dog, Dixon. However, her husband Ben’s dog, Max, is a puppy to his core. Getting him some training and time to run out some energy connects Logan to Oletta. Besides running a doggie daycare, Oletta also has horses and does search and rescue training with her dogs. Dixon appears to already have great training, he’s a rescue, and has a real knack for tracking. He’s also fiercely protective of Logan.
When Logan discovers a dead body on Oletta’s property, everyone is a suspect, yet she has a hard time thinking any of her new friends would kill someone. Determined to clear her friend’s name, Logan starts looking into everyone, not knowing that she herself is also being watched
A great storyline. I will be looking forward to reading others from this series.

Logan is currently chilling on the Oregon coast with Ben and his dog Dixon, although Dixon is a rescue dog but not very well behaved. So, Logan decides to remedy this and take him to dog training lessons where she meets Oletta, a highly regarded Dog and Horse trainer.

While Logan is running with Dixon she stumbles across a dead body and this escalates quickly to have Oletta as the prime suspect. Logan has to try and solve the murder to help her new friend but as the case goes on Logan is tangled in a web of mafia mobs and danger.

Can she solve the murder and not risk her family in the process?

This is the tenth book in the series and is just a drama filled and thrilling as the other books in this series. Each book can be read as a stand alone but for you to get a rounded knowledge of the other characters and how they have got to this point in the series.

This story is full of twists and turns with the story taking a thrilling conclusion will have you clambering to finish the book. I love the character of Logan and now that this is the tenth book the whole attraction to the series still has you excited with every detail.

I can't wait for the next book in this great series and may it continue.

As always, Logan McKenna and the world she has been built in delivers in another gripping tale. A chilly spring day seems to make a perfect time for a run on the beach with her pup when Logan stumbles upon trouble in the form of a body. As usual, Logan must work quickly and dig deep in order to protect those she cares about!

Logan has built a beautiful life in Oregon and has made a lot of friends. She is a mother, a grandmother, a wife and a very loyal friend. When it is discovered that her friend Oletta, owner of the local dog training camp and a very dedicated animal trainer, is the prime suspect Logan knows she needs to help however she can. When Logan discovers ties to a mob organization in Oletta's past, she knows she has a difficult task ahead of her and is up against a lot more power than she is used to and who is more steps ahead than she has had to deal with before. Will she be able to keep her daughter and grandson safe, keep herself out of danger and help Oletta?

While this is book 10 in the series, they can all be read as standalone books with no trouble - but you're really doing yourself a disservice if you don't get to know Logan and her circle by starting at book 1 and learn about them along the way! Every book is the best book in the series, yet!

Look Again is an intriguing murder mystery different from many others I have read!!!!

Logan McKenna is on a run with her rescue dog, Dixon, when she becomes involved in a murder mystery involving her friend, Oletta Hartley. Oletta isn’t the victim but the prime suspect. She recently had an angry encounter with the murder victim, Gloria. Logan is determined to find the culprit, which leads to danger not just to herself but also to her family.

I am a fan of murder mysteries, but this one was different…in a very good way. Readers know the culprit, and it’s interesting and fun to see the clues that Logan picks up on. It’s cleverly done because it’s narrated from several characters’ points of view. This particular approach makes the story so engaging because you become involved with the characters whether you like them or not. There are some really evil characters in this book.

I am new to this series, and it could be read as a standalone easily, but I would like to go back and read the previous books to see how Logan has changed along the way. She is a fascinating character, and I am an animal lover myself. Therefore, I loved the inclusion of the horses, especially the dogs. If you, like myself, enjoy mysteries and animals, give this series a try!

Look Again is the kind of book that grabs you by the collar, hands you a cup of coffee, and says, “Sit down—we need to talk,” before dragging you straight into a twisty mystery you did not see coming. Valerie Davisson has once again proven she can craft a story that’s equal parts heart, suspense, and “oh no she didn’t!” moments.

Our heroine is wonderfully real—the kind of character you want to be friends with, or at least follow around with popcorn to see what happens next. She’s smart, relatable, sometimes stubborn in the most entertaining way, and her reactions to the chaos around her are exactly what the rest of us would think… just with better timing and slightly more bravery.

The plot moves with the energy of someone who’s late to an appointment but keeps finding clues by accident: fast, surprising, and full of delicious “hold up, rewind!” reveals. Davisson sprinkles in humor, heart, and sharp observations that make the story feel grounded even while the stakes keep climbing.

If you love mysteries that make you laugh, gasp, and sometimes wonder if you should start paying more attention to your own surroundings, Look Again is a wildly enjoyable ride. Grab a snack, settle in, and prepare to cancel your plans—because once you start this one, you’re not looking away.

Look Again is Book Ten in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series. I have read all the previous books in this entire series and have anxiously anticipated each new book as it came out. The writing is phenomenal, and each book is better than the last. If you have not yet read previous books in this series, I highly recommend that you do. Not only is the series brilliantly written but so that you can get a better understanding of all the characters and their backgrounds.

In this newest installment Logan finds herself part of a murder mystery that has her surrounded by potential threats from all directions. She must find the murderer but that could prove to be an impossible challenge. The story is full of drama, mystery, action, danger, deceit, secrets, and lies. The author has a way of drawing you into story through the characters and the story line. Logan is a character that is so relatable that you feel that you know her well or that you want to be just like her. The suspense and danger are palpable and will leave your heart pounding as you follow Logan in her quest to find a murderer. A great read!

So this in boom 19 in this series and like good red wine it ages well 😉

Love the dedication !!!! So it already got a five star from me before I even started reading 🥰📕🤣

So Logan and Ben are settling down with their 2 dogs , Dixon and Max , one is a little unruly so they take Max for training and daycare ❣️🐾and that’s how they befriend Oletta with her dogs and horses , a real animal person and they respond well to her which says a lot I know I sound judge but animals are a good judge of character 😉 she even has a little bus that fetches them ❣️🐾

Oletta has a run in with an old for Gloria and man she’s mean but when she’s in the wrong place at the wrong time Gloria pays with her life and on Oletta’s property ( she was up to no good) and knowing there was beef between them Oletta is naturally is suspect and Logan is in a mission to prove her innocence.

Throw in a little Jersey mob family for a twist and Logan is literally fighting for her life and her loved ones and they always seem to be a step ahead ! She’s a tough cookie but these jersey boys gave her a run for her money 🙈

A brilliant weekend read 🥰📕

This is the 10th book in A Logan McKenna Mystery series. These books are great. They can be read as standalone books however I think if you read them from the start it gives you a complete picture of Logan, her life and everything she has been through up to this point.
This is a a crime and investigation story which a murder mystery that needs to be solved before a innocent person is convicted of the crime. This has an added element of the danger of crossing a crime boss so Logan has really placed herself in a dangerous situation.
When Logan finds a body she is shocked when her new friend is seen as the prime suspect.
As Logan tries to find the truth she also starts to uncover lies and secrets which leads her into dangerous territory with dangerous people.
Can Logan use her skills once again to solve this case and save another friend from injustice?

I love Logan's character. She is very determined and is prepared to put herself in danger to protect the people she cares for. Trouble always seems to find her no matter where she goes but she always figures out what is going on no matter how complicated the web of lies is or how hard the real culprit tries to hide.

Valerie Davisson has done it once again; Look Again is another amazing Logan McKenna mystery book that kept me on my toes the entire time I read it. From bringing back some of our favorite characters to introducing some new friends, and enemies, this book was filled with suspense, thrills, and excitement as we follow along. In this newest book in the series, Logan tries to solve the mysterious crimes and animal cruelty that go on around her, while trying to protect her new friends that she's making. The author does an excellent job of building up the intensity of the story while not giving away too many hints or having the mastermind criminal appear to be too obvious, allowing the reader to continually second guess who the real instigator of the story is. You won't want to miss out on reading this newest book in the Logan McKenna series, where the action gets better and better, and the plot continues to surprise you. This book will have you looking over your shoulder wherever you go. Happy reading my friends, and don't forget to keep the lights on while you read this book.

Is Logan going figure out the killer or is she going to end up in more trouble? Will have to read the book to find out. This is another gripping mystery, crime thriller in the exciting ‘Logan McKenna Mystery series’. I’ve enjoyed the previous nine books featuring our heroine, Logan McKenna. Logan stumbles upon a shocking murder at the local dog training camp whilst on a run with her rescue dog Dixon. When her friend, the camps owner Oletta Hartley becomes the prime suspect Logan is determined to clear her name. Logan discovers a connection between the Hartley’s and a dangerous Jersey mob boss, putting both her and her family in danger. Logan must uncover the ruthless killer’s identity before anyone else is murdered, but they seem to be experts at hiding. Once again I was hooked throughout by the intriguing storyline and plot twists. The setting on the Oregon coast once again came to life through the detailed descriptions. Logan is such a strong female protagonist, who I feel engaged with. The suspense built with each chapter, making it difficult to put the book down!

Look Again: A Logan McKenna Mystery by Valerie Davisson is a suspenseful and emotionally charged addition to the Logan McKenna series. Set against the evocative backdrop of the Oregon coast, the novel follows Logan as she becomes entangled in a chilling murder mystery that strikes close to home. With the life of her friend Oletta at stake, Logan uncovers a labyrinth of secrets, mob connections, and hidden motives that put her own family in grave danger. Davisson masterfully weaves an intricate plot filled with twists and high stakes, while Logan’s determination and vulnerability make her a relatable and compelling protagonist. As a newcomer myself, I can safely say that fans of the series and newcomers alike will find this gripping installment hard to put down, as it delivers both a thrilling mystery and a heartfelt exploration of loyalty, family, and resilience. This was my first book to read in this series, and I am excited to dive into this series!

I did it again- started a gosh darn series without realizing it was a series!
That being said, while it would have been nice to have had some of Logan's backstory filled in, it wasn't necessary to the plot, and stood alone as an independent mystery without issue.
I really like the writing style of Davisson, and felt as though the characters and their dialogue were natural. Coming from the PNW myself, there were also references made along the Oregon coast that easily painted a picture in my mind based off of the descriptions, which were strikingly close to areas I've frequented.
From the very beginning, I was hooked (and indignant) with the first plot line circling around a pretty nasty teenage rodeo competitor, and I definitely was hoping she'd meet her match at some point. Suffice to say, bad things happen, good people almost go down for it, and overlapping plot lines were well done and kept the book as a page turner.
Now to go back to the first of this ten book series!

Look Again grabbed me from the very first scene, when a simple, peaceful run with Dixon on the Oregon coast suddenly turns into a murder discovery that flips Logan’s world upside down. I felt especially invested because Oletta, the warm and capable dog-training camp owner, is such an easy character to care about, making it frustrating—and compelling—when she’s quickly labeled the prime suspect. As Logan pushes deeper into the investigation, the layers of secrets, family history, and the Hartleys’ unsettling mob connections made the story feel bigger and more dangerous than the usual small-town mystery. I loved how the tension kept tightening, especially once Logan’s own daughter and grandson are pulled into the crosshairs—it added a personal, emotional punch. The villain in this installment is particularly chilling, and I found myself genuinely worried because it truly feels like the killer is always one step ahead.

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. I also enjoy this author’s writing style that brings her story and that of the characters to life on every page. Logan is back in another mystery that is entertaining and easy to read. If you have not met Logan, you will want to. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series as well as they just keep getting better and better with each book. Logan finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery that keeps her looking again and again. Will she find the murderer or will she lose everything? She is a great character that just makes the story for me. She is relatable and connectable. I enjoyed watching the growth of this story throughout which made the story hard to put down. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book and this series.

A can't put down thriller. Valerie Davisson outdid herself with this one. This is book 10 of the Logan McKenna series. While it can be read alone it does help to read some of the books prior as the characters build upon one another. I promise once you start you will read the entire series. Logan McKenna is trying to relax after the last murder she helped solve, relaxing at her home in Oregon, she's trying to get back to what she loves and playing her violin again. Logan along with Ben are enjoying their newly fixed up home with their now 2 dogs. Ben's puppy is a tad destructive which has Logan reaching out to a Horse farm/ dog training facility. It's there that chaos ensues and once again Logan is in the middle of it, and by chaos I mean murder, kidnapping and deception which is just the tip of the iceberg.

Put on your thinking cap as this story will keep you thinking. Yes this story is very intense, but so worth another night of no sleep. But, before you start this one I suggest you start at the beginning of the series. Logan is out to protect the innocent and find the murderer before she loses even more. This story is so very intriguing that I could not put it down. Logan is smart, independent and strong willed. She does not back down for anybody. That is what makes this story so good. This author writes like she is the main character. She relives their story like she was there. I love this author as well as her writing skills. She writes great stories so worth reading. Get comfortable as you too will not be able to put it down. Enjoy the rollercoaster of emotions. I know I did. Looking forward to see where Logan goes next.

Look Again (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 10) by Valerie Davisson . This is one of my very favorite mystery series and while they can be read as stand alone's I highly recommend reading them all to get a better handle on the story and characters. In this book we Logan trying to relax in her home on the Oregon coast with Ben and his dog. Dixon, the dog, is a rescue and highly in need of a trainer and that brings Logan into Oletta's orbit. Oletta runs the local dog training camp and when Logan is out for a run with Dixon they stumble upon a dead body. Oletta ends up being the prime suspect and Logan is determined to clear her name. Oletta's past comes back to haunt all of them including Logan and her family. Will she be able to find out who the killer is before Oletta or worse Logan gets hurt? Read this fast paced thriller, you won't be disappointed.

Logan McKenna is back in Look Again, Book 10 in the series. I really enjoy this series and I do highly recommend reading the stories in order. Valerie Davisson brings a weave of murder, danger, drama, intrigue and trying to solve the next murder....with twists and turns along the way.

Logan is living a great life off the Oregon Coast....but there is a murder that Logan must help solve so her new friend, Oletta, does not take the fall. Coming upon a body is not what you anticipate when at a local dog training....but Logan is giving it her all to find out who is truly responsible. Wrapping up in deceit and lies.....will Logan be able to solve this or will her new friend, Oletta, end up the guilty party. Logan must also watch her back so she is not a target nor her loved ones.......

This is a great story....and always looking forward to see more Logan McKenna.....

This series has been one of my favorites since I started reading it back in 2022. I was super excited to pick this installment up and dove in immediately. This can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the entire series (even if you do it out of order) because it is incredible! From the very beginning, the author expertly draws you into Logan’s world with ease. Before you know it, you’re halfway through and can’t put it down. It is fast-paced and the story flows well with everything unfolding naturally. One thing I can always count on from this author is the fact that there will be several twists and turns throughout the book that I never see coming. At more than one point my mouth was hanging open in surprise. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series for anyone who is a fan of suspenseful mysteries with loads of action!

Look Again is the 10th and final book in the Logan McKenna Series. While this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the others in the series to get more of the character's backstories and history. As always, Logan finds herself right back in the midst of crime and trouble. While visiting a new friend, she finds a dead body and it so happens to be someone her friend was not fond of. Logan is set to prove her friend is innocent, but at what stakes? While investigating the murder, Logan finds herself in several dangerous situations that could not only affect herself, but her family as well. I am quite used to the twists and turns that come with this series but I was still caught offguard at some of the unexpected directions the book took. This is a great series for anyone that loves amateur detective style stories, with danger, suspense and great characters.

Look Again is book 10 of the Logan McKenna Mystery Book series by Valerie Davisson. I've read all of these books, so of course I had to hop into the newest book in the series. As always, this book is full of excitement and tension, pulling you in and not letting you go until the end. Although I've read all of the books in the series, I do believe this can be read as a standalone, although if you read the full series, you get the whole picture on Logan McKenna's life. I thoroughly enjoy all of Ms. Davisson's books and highly recommend them all. As always, Logan finds herself wrapped up in the middle of a murder mystery. This time she takes on the task of proving that her new friend is not responsible for the death of this newly discovered body, as the new friend was not fond of this person. It's always a rollercoaster ride, so hold on tight and enjoy the journey!

This murder mystery is one in a series of books about Logan McKenna but can totally be read by itself. There is enough given about the characters that you don’t need to have read them all up to this point to enjoy the storyline, but I definitely know I will have to read more of them! Logan has met and befriended Oletta who is helping to train her rescue dog, Dixon. While on a trip with Oletta, she falls into the drama that has been unfolding surrounding around Oletta’s world and is now drawn into the danger herself. The other players in the story all have parts that are told from their perspective which help to build up the whole scene for you and help you to see how Logan can piece together how to help keep herself and her friend safe. There are twists that keep the story at a quick pace for reading and it had a good storyline.

This is one of my favorite mystery series. Logan is one of those people that somehow finds a mystery and ends up in the middle of it. Somehow, she finds the killer and gets out safely. This story is wonderful. There is suspense, drama mixed among the story and even some romantic time with her husband. She is probably one my idols. However, I will live vicariously solving mysteries through her. This author has a wonderful way of writing that makes you feel you are within the middle of the story. The characters could be your friends and neighbors. I always love the details that she puts in. She never gives too much. It's always just the right amount. This is a wonderful story with a really great flow. Definitely a series you must read.

Another Logan story that follows along the same pattern as the last few. This one takes place with horses, cowgirls and trail rides. We see her friend showing her dog how to learn search and rescue which is a bit interesting and I LOVED the school bus for dogs! Parts of the story were slow for me as she meticulously works through the story from multiple angles. At times it was tedious seeing the same or the next step time after time. Following Logan and her friends as they work on figuring out what happened at the home of Oletta. It does have a good mystery and some wonderful characters that have been built over time as well as a few new ones. I loved the cover and grabbed this because of that. The octopus isn’t what the story is about but a small part about things blending.
