Unleashed by Crystal Jordan 5 stars 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Oooo steamy this book was hot. You get two wonderfully written books in one. I didn't read the first book in this duology so I'm not sure if there is any connection between the two. You don't need to read the first book in this series to understand it, they have enough story building. Both these stories intertwined enough and didn't leave you confused at all. The books are about how the world is after the Third great war, people can now shift into animals some are foxes, snakes, wolves it's great. The first mini-book is Hunting Temptation and has a sexy trio. Gea, Quill, and Kienan. Gea knows she has found her mate Quill but won't tell him, Kienan finds out that Gea and Quill are his mates, and he will do anything to have them he doesn't ever want to lose them. He just needs to convince Gea to admit to Quill their mates. Gea also works as a PI and is trying to track someone down which leads into the second mini book but in this first one damn lots of sex, passion, and mm. The characters have a lot of building and growing too it's a lot in a few short chapters but worth it. The second one is Reclaiming Temptation it continues and ties it in from Hunting temptation, you have Tam who is in trouble and trying to find a way to save her sister from an evil man and her mate breck that will do anything to help her and keep her safe from any harm. Still a lot of sex in this one but also a lot more action. I loved the fighting scenes in this. I have read so many rom-com books lately this was so wonderful still had a little romance but was so refreshing. They are such great characters; the world is amazing. They all had rough parts to get to their happy ending, but it was put together beautifully. I will be adding more of Crystal's books to my shelf once I knock more off my tbr.
Loved this duology so much. Crystal Jordan writes fabulous hot shifter books with really solid world building and excellent sex scenes. The menage is great, but I especially enjoyed Tam and Breck's story after becoming intrigued by their enemies with benefits gig in the Untamed collection. (The elevator sex. WHEW.)

Each of these stories was fantastic. They both contained mutual characters, entwining them but not the story lines, so it wasn't confusing. I haven’t read the book that came before this, but the characters from it are present. I was able to read and enjoy this book without that prior knowledge. Though I am sure it would have been enhanced had I read the first book before reading this one, it is by no means necessary. The characters came to life in my mind and I got myself in trouble by neglecting house hold duties while I was engrossed in this book. Each installment was a wonderfully suspenseful love story with a HEA. Stories like that are what I love.
Let’s move onto the world. The world was detailed enough that I really felt like I was living in New Chicago. All the intricacies of the species are revealed without overwhelming us with information. The world building was the same. I got a sense of the world without too much information, but just the right amount. The basis of the world is an interesting take on what happens with gene mutation. The idea of every single person having an animal to shift into along with their characteristics was so enthralling. I am rapidly becoming a huge shape shifter fan thanks to Ms. Jordan’s interesting stories. And I definitely need to go back and read the first book, Untamed!
Another 2 for 1 in this book and we get to finally hear the stories from some previous characters. Hunting Temptation is another threesome and the boys touch too so the heat level is ramped up a notch. This time Gea has recognized her mate but refuses to claim him she will only allow herself sex. After seeing what her mother went through she decided long ago she would never take a mate. Then she sees her mate with Kienan and the sparks fly (or explode) between them. Turns out he is her mate too and in turn Kienan recognizes the two as his mates as well. Talk about adding more complication into the mix. Eventually Quill discovers what his mates have been hiding and turns away from them both. He is beyond hurt that they would hide something so important from him and can't bear to be near them. Gea finds herself in serious trouble and her men come to rescue her. They all realise that in their line of work you can't take chances and have to embrace love when you find it.
Reclaiming Temptation is next and I'm not going to lie this is the book I've been waiting for! I've been wanting Tam's story since she popped up in the first two books. I'm not going to say too much about this one because I don't want to give anything away. There is a big reason she has been fighting to get away from Breck after stealing something from him. She let herself get too close to him but she has her reasons for staying away. There is plenty of action and twists in this story to keep you on the edge of your seat. I had tears in my eyes at some points of this one. You will find yourself routing the whole time for these two to make it through. We also get to see a few characters from previous books which I always enjoy. Their story is definitely worth waiting for!
I love, love, loved this book. Crystal is an amazing writer. I always lose myself in the world she has created when I read her books. Anytime I want a romance with great sex and lots of action and passion I go to her.
Unleashed is comprised of two stories that take place in a future after the Third Great War. Humanity has changed people can now shift into various animals, many are predators. This post apocalyptic world is dark, gritty, and often violent. Untamed takes place in the same world. Readers are treated to page time with the characters from that book. They each work as stand alones.
The first story Hunting Temptation is a sexy menage a trois where the men are just as into each other as they are their foxy female mate. Kienan has come to New Chicago after leaving a job that he had lost himself in. He is hoping to find something to connect him to reality. He finds everything he needs in Quill and Gea. They are the mates he never knew he wanted. Quill is much like Kienan, he never knew he was missing a mate. Gea has seen how horrible a mating can go and vows to stay away from that mess.
Reclaiming Temptation continues a storyline that was picked up in Hunting Temptation but it moves on to a new couple. Tam is a cheetah, a natural runner and she uses her speed and agility for personal gains. The tables have been turned and now someone is exploiting her abilities for their gain. Breck is tired of his mate running from him, but he chases. He has the means and resources to chase Tam to the end of the earth and he does.
I have to admit that as soon as I catch up on books that I have to review for the blog I am going to read as many Crystal Jordan books as I can get my hands on. This lady writes some sexy characters. It is so rare that I jump into a book and at least one characters grates on my nerves over some immaterial thing. I loved the characters. I loved the world. I loved the stories. I loved the rough roads that these amazing characters had to travel to get to their happily ever afters.
The first one is about Gea, Quilliam and Kienan. At the beginning of the story they find out all three of them are true mates to each other. And that's why I think I just couldn't get trough the story. It was the first time I read about a menage-à-trois and it turns out it isn't my thing, at all. But for the people who like to read about this, the story is hot and well-written.
The second story is about Felicia and Constantine. They're a lovely couple with a lot of problems. And I really wanted them to overcome those troubles and get their happy ending. This story was more to my liking. And still... It didn't catch me as other books can. I didn't come home from work desperate to read the rest of the book. So I also put those story away before getting to the happy ending. Once again, I think it's the genre that makes me put the books away and not the books themselves. I think I just want more story and less erotica...
Sequel to Untamed, this featured two more linked stories set in the world where everyone has a predator soul. We did get to see the characters from the earlier stories again too.
Hunting Temptation - Gea already knows Quill is her mate, but he doesn't know and she doesn't want to be tied down though she can't stay away from him. It's mostly working ok, until Kienan arrives in town, and discovers both are his mates too, and he wants his HEA.
Reclaiming Temptation - Breck knows Tam is his mate, and though she's run he's still looking for her. This was a hard story, with a very bad guy, and Tam having to realize some truths.
i found this book ex(xxx)tremely hot. i loved the charecters and their interwoven plots between the 2 stories, yes there are 2 stories/one hot read. it is the future and we are all shifters of a sort. what would you be?quill andkienan in the first story would be any girls dream let alone both for 1 lucky girl.i really was routing for breck/felicia in the 2nd story also.keep them coming crys we love your well written stories. lsl#1
Good author I just don't like short stories, I mean I was glad that they went together as in, the characters ended in one book, and you got small tastes of them in the second story but it doesn't give you enough time to develop the characters, it feels more like a tease, but it was action packed, shape shifting, fighting, crazy sex, finding love, adventure, theft and so much more. If you haven't read her try her!
Ok, this book was hot, sexy and a wild ride. But, there's too much going on. I think it could have been toned down a little, maybe focused a little more on the shifting/mating storyline. All in all, it's pretty hot and tempting and that was the only thing saving it from less stars. I just couldn't get into the rest.
Hunting Temptation - pretty good. Found the futuristc world-building a little annoying, with the word “synth” or “nano” thrown in front of many words so that we know that it’s not an ordinary tattoo but a nano-tat, or a synth brew or a nano-bandage, etc. Reclaiming Temptations - I had little patience for the angst of the hero and heroine. I didn’t really enjoy this one.
