First and foremost… f^ck Azimar

This book was incredible from start to finish. I’d like to say that you didn’t have to make me cry Rae but HERE WE GO.

Those short stories were beautiful additions to the main story and I loved being able to read them in the tandem read edition. Each one was so great and I especially loved ones about Tira and Talla… but I still won’t forgive you for Burning Up pt 2.

Now, the main story. I really really loved it. Point blank. No questions asked. Carro’s development was wonderful. The way the characters connected with each other made me love it even more… even though I was terrified that someone may die in the next page. Welp - my fault for reading a book about war 😂 I think my favourite part about this was Asenna. She wasn’t magically gifted nor a good fighter - and she doesn’t magically become one either. She’s an incredible character with a full personality and character development and importance without being the fiercest warrior. Despite this though, she was still a pure and utter badass and it was just so amazing seeing the difference of her versus many FMC’s I read (don’t get me wrong - I love them too)

This story was beautiful and sad and wonderful and so so unique. Please do yourself a favour and add this series to your tbr!

I’m so excited to read The Oracle King!

This book was amazing! While I would call it more fantasy than romantasy, it definitely delivers. The characters are relatable and incredible with wonderful journeys that make you laugh and cry as they also break your heart. To see an unlikely family hy choice come together to love and support one another is beyond beautiful. I loved the tandem read experience with short stories from Scars and Sketches peppered throughout to get more information on the in-between times as well as flashbacks to before rhe wvents of The Midwinter Queen. I can't wait for the next book!

I loved the tandem read experience almost as much as I loved the characters! The worldbuilding, including the Ulvvori language and creation stories, was so fantastic! The characters, including more minor ones, had a depth to them that made them feel more real. I can't wait for the next book!!

4.5 starts.
Would have liked to see Azhimar suffer a lot more at the end. Really liked how the tandem read showed me inside of the other characters and their story. It tied it all up very nicely and it was such a great read. Didn’t want to put the books down !!!

This book was magic. I regret that I didn't finish it sooner but I also don't because now I don't have to wait as long for book 3. If you're looking for a decent length book to keep you entertained that also is an amazing story line AND has short stories mixed in?! This is it for you I promise
