Okay so …
I don’t usually read novellas, so I need to keep that in mind as I review this. If this was a full length book, I’d have less gripes with this I think. I was considering rating it lower, but again, I have to remember that the pacing issues I have are because of the book style not because of the author herself. Any novella would feel like this, not just hers.
I thought Cleo was a great character! She was smart, passionate about her job, felt very human. Miles … I liked how much he loved her, and he felt very multidimensional too, but he also moved SO FAST. It felt very lovebomb to me, but again, it was a novella, so you’re fitting a whole book’s worth of content into 80 pages.
That being said, I thought their relationship was written very well! I saw their chemistry, the scenes between them were passionate and exciting to read, and he had lots of great romantic gestures! I thought the following her in the car scene was CRAZY, but I guess I get it? LMAO
This was my first football romance, but I thought it was cute! I love sports romance, so this was nice, simple, and comforting. Nothing crazy!
I thought it was crazy that there wasn’t a bigger time skip though. A marriage proposal??? Like…a few months into being with me???…erm
Whatever you say I guess!
But anyway, I really enjoyed this, I just think I would’ve enjoyed it more as a full book because I wouldn’t have been so concerned about how fast they were moving! It felt like love bombing and lots and lots of passion, but it was a cute romance over all and a very easy and quick read!
