All of the reviews for this book made it sound like the two stories were completely unrelated to each other and said the second one wasn't nearly as good. I respectfully disagree.

The first story was about Gina and Caleb and towards the end, it introduced Angelo and Drake and they came needing Gina's help. This story was very good, I enjoyed it a lot.

The second story picks up almost exactly where the first one leaves off, only now its being mostly told by Angelo. This story was also very good, although the focus was slightly different as it wasn't soley a romance, it was more of a mystery or thriller.

The version of the book that I got from my libray also had a "bonus" story that fleshed out a scene from the first story - told by Mac, the detective who came to Gina for help. It was cute, not much to it, but creative to take a small scene and write a short story about it.

I will admit, I first picked up this book because the title caught my eye and then I saw the cover image and well, really, how could I not read it after seeing that... I did get some strange looks on the train though...

People are quick to criticize an author when their books are all the same storyline just with different names, but then when an author shows some variety, they criticize because its not what they were expecting to read.

My first foray into reading Sasha Whites work and I already know I will be reading more. I enjoyed every second of this book and I am looking forward to reading more on the rest of the crew.

Sexy Devil is 2 books(novellas) in one with a free short story to follow(which I didn't realize was there until I thought I was done with the book).

First up was The Devil Inside which feature Gina Devlin and Caleb Mann. Gina is a psychic and she just wants someone who loves her for who she really is(who doesn't). Anyway, she meets Caleb, who mistakes her for someone else and they have a glorious time and the rest is a wonderful erotic ride. I love the added benefit of watching Caleb struggle with his new reality.

Then there is Devil's Jewel which features Gina's brother Angelo Devlin(Angel to Gina, Devil to all others who know him) and Jewel Kattalis. Angelo is telepathic and Jewel is a gypsy who know is already immersed in the supernatural world. We still get to see Caleb struggle with more supernatural elements, which I think is hilarious, and also the continuation of his and Gina's relationship along with this new relationship of Angelo and Jewel. These two chemistry is volatile, but the manage to keep it under control as much as possible with this threat that they are dealing with.

Devil's Jewel is full of the sexy chemistry and amazing sex, but is also has that element of suspense and is a little more infused with the supernatural element.

I have to say that bonus story Mountain Retreat is just the icing on the cake. Mac(whom we met in The Devil Inside) is searching for a friend that is need of help. He finds her and a little bit more than he bargained for.

Every aspect of this book was really well written and a great treat.

This is part of Sasha White's Hunter Protection group of books, all of which I enjoyed. Sasha writes erotic stories with romance, action and good strong characters. Her women don't sit around and wait for things to happen to them. All her books are very enjoyable reads.

In the first story you will learn if a free spirit like Gina can help a straight laced guy like Caleb. This is story is filled with sexual attraction, love and smokin sex!!

The second story is just as SMOKIN and EROTIC!! Sasha creates such amazing storylines...she never disappoints!!

I liked the storyline. The romance was tastefully assembled. But I found it SUPER weird to write about a sister and a brother's respective raunchy sexual encounters within the same book. That's really creepy. Why would anyone want to see that? That's just my opinion though.

Crítica: Sendo curta e grossa: não gostei. É daquelas histórias que não é carne nem é peixe, tentam-se misturar demasiados elementos e sai dali uma salganhada medonha que não cativa ninguém. Mas, começando pelo início... Este é um livro que está a ser comercializado como erótico. Sim, as cenas de sexo são descritas ao pormenor mas são desinteressantes e pobres... e toda a preparação até ao primeiro acto sexual é banal, limitando-se à simples atracção e "ele/ela é aquele" ou "uau, ele/ela é especial", o que por si só não diz nada ao leitor. E, após umas rodadas de sexo fenomenal, sai pedido de casamento, nos três contos. Então? É erótico ou é romântico? Também é comercializado como um livro com "bad boys". Confesso, que sendo o meu estilo de espécime masculino favorito, foi o que me cativou mais para começar a lê-lo. Outra desilusão, porque os rapazes desta história são todos homens certinhos, dentro dos possíveis, e são elas na verdade as "bad girls". Publicidade enganosa!! Para piorar uma história já de si fraca são acrescentados elementos sobrenaturais que nos são explicados como se tivéssemos 5 anos: ele é telepata, logo lê pensamentos. Ela tem premonições logo tem visões do futuro... Por fim, não sei até que ponto os ciganos dos EUA e Canadá são diferentes, mas sempre soube que cigana que se preze só perde a virgindade no casamento, não anda com este e outro como se fosse algo banal. Claramente que a escritora partiu de uma ideia pré-concebida que tem dos ciganos e escreveu a partir daí. Enfim...

Expectativa e estado de espírito: Sem expectativas, desejava apenas ter uma leitura relaxante à noite, antes de adormecer.

Pontos positivos: A capa.

Pontos negativos: Tudo o resto.

Fez-me reflectir sobre: que há demasiadas pessoas a escrever paranormal só para terem um público, quando nem sabem o que estão a fazer.

This book left me with mixed feelings. Let me get the good stuff out of the way first. Ms White is an excellent writer. Her language is good, her grammar is good, and I only found 1 typo that I remember.

Now, as it comes to her story-telling skills. This is where I get mixed up. This is a 3 part book. Part 1 and 2 tie into each other, but I have no idea where part 3 fits into the whole thing. Other than being marked as a "free bonus read" it didn't make much sense.

Part 1 of the book is about a girl who is psychic. Easy enough. She hooks up with a guy, and there is some back and forth before they end up together. I would have given this part of the book a 4/5 star review. I enjoyed this one.

Part 2 is what kinda what dragged the whole thing down into the mud for me. Considering how short the story is, adding witches, demons, shape-shifters, mind-readers, empaths and a whole underworld was overkill. And in no way did it tie in with the first part of the book. Even if the same characters reappeared in part 2 of the book.

This felt a little like reading fanfiction, where you take the same characters and give them new lives/stories. I want to dub this book "fanfiction gone wrong". It was part 2 that gave me grief and took finish reading the book absolutely forever.

Had the author added the supernatural aspects into part 1 of the book, I would have labeled it "paranormal" instead of "romance". This book sure as hell isn't erotica, and there is just a little bit of romance in the first part of the book.

And that leads me to the last thing that annoys me with this book. The cover and title is completely misleading. You expect an erotic romance book, but get just about anything but. So yeah, a 2/5 star rating for this one. Big disappointment.

The Devil Inside

I liked this story, there wasn't really that much drama or mystery but it was nice in its own way.
Gina is Psychic and has been dreaming of a faceless man telling her she loved her. She's never really any long lasting relationships except for her brother Angelo who's also psychic in his own way.

Caleb is down after his ex-gf told him he was a poor lover and struggles to keep away from his job to have a shot at a love life. His brother Gabriel sets him up with a friend of his— Christina— the name doesn't really matter btw. Anyway, instead he runs into Gina and sparks fly....

You didn't really think I'd give you all the spoilers didja? *hehehehe*

Devil's Jewel

This one was a bit different. It was basically giving us more of Angel's (Devil) life. ( what he does for a living etc..) and how he helps the world- well, more like the people safe from evil.
He's on a mission to destroy a demon who captured Nadya, who is Jewels sister.

This one had less intimacy, and I didn't really feel the connection between the h/H as much as I did for Gina and Caleb.

I loved that Gina and Caleb got to be in this story too. I love them together.

Anyway, yes. This one was still a good read as well, but the two don't really seem to relate at all. ( Except for the characters)

Oh, my. Sasha White has a winner with this anthology. There are two stories plus a third short story for which the characters are introduced in the first story.

First is The Devil Inside. Take one hunky but repressed hero who doesn't believe in anything he can't discern with his 5 senses. Add one free-spirited psychic who rips his willing body out of his mind's comfort zone. And watch the sparks fly.

Second is Devil's Jewel. Of course, our psychic heroine has an equally impressive brother - a telepath. When he and his empathic demon-hunting partner come to town, they're hot on the trail of a demon who kidnapped a shape-shifting girl. But our telepathic hero only has eyes for her sexy older sister... a gypsy with some magic of her own.

Lastly, Mountain Retreat is a short story about the cop who befriended the psychic in the first story, but his desire is all for the girl he'd loved as a teenager. After 15 years, she's returned needing his protection, but at the same time tries to protect him from herself.

Sounds crazy? Did we miss any paranormal phenomena? Okay, so there are no vampires in these stories. And plot? Well, as plot elements go, it's a little on the light side. But all in all, Sexy Devil is a fun, erotic romp and even readers who don't add every paranormal tale to their TBR list will want to put Sexy Devil on their list.

I really liked the first story - it was great and full of HOT sex, plus lots of it. The paranormal aspect of the first story was more about visions and premonitions than some of the other paranormal erotica. Still hot and I loved the characters. I would give that story a 5 star.

However the second one made me change this overall book to 4 stars. It was more normal paranormal (HA) with shape shifter, evil vs. good, demon, etc. It also focused a lot more on plot development as opposed to character/relationship development. Which I am not against, I promise. However, it threw me for a loop after reading the first story. Plus the two stories are related with the same characters, so it also seemed an odd shift when it was such a related story. I didn't feel as involved in the characters and there was less sex....I just felt generally less vested in general. So not as enjoyable. But what sex was there was hot!

The first story was just a bunch of sex scenes without much in the 'feels' department. Caleb just decides that he's in love with Gina within a break in chapters. There's no 'coming to terms with it', no struggle to make us associate with the struggle.

The second was better. Angelo is sexier. There is some genuine reason for them liking each other at the end. Though the werewolves, gypsy, shape-shifters, witches, demons, etc added into it sort of disconnected both the stories.

The bonus story was ok.

I have only read The Devil Inside in this book. I have yet to read Devil's Jewel which sounds like a sequel of some kind. I liked the main character Gina. I loved how she seemed to constantly keep Caleb (the leading male character) on his toes and throwing him for a loop. It was a short story (about 115 pages) but I still liked it. Thought the cover was hot, saw in one of the threads someone else was reading it, read the review and decided to give it a go. Glad I did. I wanted something that wasn't a series that'd be a quick and pleasant read. I did get it as an e-book as it was cheaper. Won't be buying it in paperback though. Didn't like it enough to have it in both a book and e-book form. Have never read any of Shasha White's books before but this one was a pleasant quick read.

There are two very hot stories in this book by Sasha White.

The Devil Inside is about the relationship of Gina Devlin (a psychic) and Caleb Mann (a builder) – they meet when Caleb thinks she is a blind date set up by his younger brother Gabe. This was the best story and I thought it was well told.

Devil’s Jewel is about the relationship of Jewel Kattalis (a gypsy) and Angelo Devlin (a psychic and Gina’s older brother). They are thrown together when they are both tracking the same man – Angelo with his job and Jewel because this guy has kidnapped her 15 year old sister. I don’t think this story was as well developed as the first one but still a good read.

Read the first story which was OK but a bit all over the place. It's not really good erotica because the sex was boring and the paranormal aspect was just too silly. I couldn't take the second story though - I don't know why authors like to write complicated paranormal stories as novellas - so I'm not finishing it. Life's too short.

This book gets a second star because of the cover, which is the best thing about the book.

The second story was ok, but it didn't have the heat that The Devil Inside had, so for me it was a bit of a let down. Had there been more passionate scenes like the first story did, I'd rate the entire book 4 stars, but Devil's Jewel only gets 3 stars.

There are two stories in this book! I liked the second one better than the first. There was more action involved. The Devil inside is about Gina, a psychic, who falls in love with a non believer. Devil's jewel is about Gina's brother who has psychic abilities and works for a group that hunts down rogue supernatural beings. In this particular story they are hunting a demon.

The Devil Inside

Caleb and Gina's story was engaging and with plenty of steamy sex. I really enjoyed how the reader gets to see things from both their perspectives over the course of the story. Additionally, I loved how strong Gina was. She's one to go after what she wants and not settle for less. She knows who she is and embraces it wholeheartedly.

Devil's Jewel

While the first book focused chiefly on Caleb and Gina and their perspectives, this book incorporated a lot more characters. Also, the story was told from not only Devil and Jewel's perspectives, but Gina's as well. This book featured less steamy scenes and more action and danger. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable read (both stories). They have definitely inspired me to continue with the series.

Mountain Retreat

I loved getting to follow up on Mac in this bonus story. The reader meets him briefly in the first book as he searches for Nikki. Gina is able to identify her location and this short story is what happens when he goes after her. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect as to why she was afraid and ran, but I definitely wouldn't have guessed the truth! This was a great way to wrap up the other two great stories in this book.
