Secondhand Princess

Rate this book
Sydney lives on the wrong side of the tracks. But she’s still a princess—in Daddy’s eyes, anyway. Who cares what the trailer park kids think? Or even her sister. Life’s good. She’s got nothing to complain about.

Until Daddy dies. Then Sydney is torn away from home, school, and friends—her whole world. She’s stuck with a new family—complete strangers—and told to be happy about it.

No way. Sydney's never been good at taking orders, and she's not going to start now. Running away is her answer. But she’s about to find out that life on the street is way more dangerous than anything she could imagine.

Has Sydney dug a hole so deep she can’t climb out? Or, by some miracle, will this tossed-out princess luck up on a second chance?

I really don’t like giving below 3 stars, but the main character is obnoxious! Bill Baker and his wife are such forgiving souls. In the beginning, I expected Marley would be the obnoxious one, but instead it is Sidney.

I struggled with the plot as well. Too many plot holes and the ending started out okay but then it just stopped no flushing out.

A very disappointed reader/ listener!
