I was so excited when I opened a package from HarperCollins and found, The 10th Anniversary edition of the Patterson Girls, by Rachael Johns as I have loved her other titles that I have read so far (and am incredibly happy that there are a number on her back catalogue for me to read!)
The Patterson Girls is a great, warm read set in country South Australia. Four sisters head back home to spend Christmas with their father. The first Christmas since their mother passed away. While they are there, they are given the task of going through their mother’s things and come across some old wedding cards, where one mentions, "The Patterson Curse". Is it real? And if so, will it impact their own lives?
This book follows the stories of all four sisters, stretching from London to Baltimore, Melbourne to rural South Australia. THis book actually heads in a totally different direction then what I initially thought it would, but I was hooked to see what happened to each sister next. The dynamics between the sisters and their loved ones were at times heartbreaking but also heartwarming.
Also, I do have to mention that the brand new epilogue that Rachael Johns has written for the 10 Year Anniversary Edition is just absolute perfection.
If you are looking for a cosy read to curl up with during the Winter, I would highly recommend this book.
Thank you so much to @harpercollins and @rachaeljohns for the gifted copy.
