Loved this story. I was immediately pulled into Shelby's world. This story was very well written and had me wanting to do nothing but listen to the story. I was shocked with the twists and turns the story took. Very happy with this story. The narrator did a wonderful job. I really enjoyed the different voices of all the characters, but my favorite was a female barista. Such a minor character, didn't even have a name, but the narrator was so committed she made that female sound exactly how I imagine all women think another woman seductively hitting on their true love sounds. Amazing job all around!

This was a great second chance romance with lots of twists and turns. Shelby and Wade were close in school until he found out who she was and through a misunderstanding she ran. Now they are brought back together for work and on an island. So many lies and second guessing but a really great ending.

I love second chance romances, and Donna K Weaver gave me one with all the elements of a story that peak my interest. We have Shelby and Wade, broken up because once Wade found out Shelby's lineage, he could not deal with it. Shelby wants to break away from her billionaire father. With this upcoming deal, it could be her chance. Shelby and Wade find themselves pushed together again to work on this project. With so many twists and turns, love, deception, friendship and suspense, I was completely sucked into the story. Several outcomes were complete surprises to me and made the story that much better. And the love of Shelby and Wade was incredibly sweet.

Tiffany Williams narrates this book to perfection. I am a fan of her work, listening to a couple of others she has performed and she always delivers a story to remember. Her emotions are felt right to your heart and her separation of characters is easy to determine. Loved it!

This was a great second chance romance that was well written with a strong story line and captivating characters. Lots of twists and turns will keep you page turning and wanting more. Lots of deceit in this book. Shelby was deceived by her mother, her mother deceived her father and her father deceived her. When Wade found out Shelby's lineage he couldn't handle it so they broke up. Later they were drawn together on a project after she had parted ways with her father and they begin to rekindle their romance. A great story that was fun to read. I received a complimentary copy of the book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Shelby wants nothing more than to break free of her controlling father. When her ex ends up being the lead architect on her last project, she finds herself protecting her heart as well. Wade wants Shelby back. But can he earn her trust after what happened in the past? And can they figure out where the threats are coming from? This book has many twists and turns to keep you guessing. I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it. The narrator, Tiffany Williams, was really enjoyable to listen to as well.

I read an advanced digital format copy of this book and have voluntarily submitted this review.
It is a complex story, one which I do not want to disclose too much here, as to give away a very good plot.
Needless to say, when you grow up with a mother who is anobsessive liar, you have no idea who your father is and appear to be let down by the young man you planned one day to marry, in my opinion, you would have the right to be angry with all and sundry.

This was an interesting story but the MFC was rather annoying for much of the story. She was so focused on what others were doing to her that she didn't stop to give them a chance. Not until near the end anyway. The reasons for the breakup was not explained clearly and then it was a moot point. I didn't really understand the job thing at the end, but other reconciliations were very sweet. The whole thing with Philip and his son turned out quite sad. So yes, it was interesting enough to keep me engaged but a number of things were either unclear or glossed over.

Holy cow what an amazing book! Snappy, fast paced with a fiery female lead. I love how the author gets right to the heart of the matter with a show not tell descriptions. The action scenes are believable and the characters and world is very lived in. Wonderful book! I was not expecting it to be THIS good!

Tropes: enemies to more, second chance, sassy lead character, broken family

This story is heart-wrenching as we see Shelby go through every emotion as she comes to terms with having Wade back in her life. It's a story of second chances, forgiveness and the truth breaks free to reveal some very dangerous truths but also truths that will free the heart. This story is action-packed from the beginning and Shelby and Wade take us on a dangerous journey of love renewed.

Good story. It was a second chance romance. Shelby and Wade were close until a misunderstanding occurred. Four years later they find themselves face to face. However, they have bigger things to deal with when others around them are betraying them.

Unbeknownst to her, Shelby is to work with someone from her past on a project that is being mishandled by her father’s crew. Mind you, this is a father with a past.
Will the past catch up with her? Can she work through it?
Nice little mystery going here. Quick read! Well done.

This was my first book by this author. This second chance, forced proximity romance with suspense was enjoyable to follow. There was a familial rift and thread coming from an unknown source. It was fun to try to piece things together while enjoying this clean romance.

Storyline was good…. Some mystery, some action and some unlikely romance are the highlights of this novella, but it does feel like it’s geared towards a younger, high school audience.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Twenty-six-year-old Shelby Nash wants to break free of her controlling, billionaire father. With the completion of one more project for his company, she can branch out on her own. However, her ex-boyfriend’s been appointed as the new lead architect. She has to find a way to protect her heart from him while avoiding whoever’s making anonymous threats.

Wade Masters did a poor job handling the news about the identity of his girlfriend’s father. Shelby walked out of his life without another word. Finally, four years later, Wade has a chance to win her back. As long as whoever’s targeted her doesn’t get her first.

MY TAKE
I'm reviewing the audiobook. It's a no-brainer that I loved the story, but I'm biased.

Tiffany Williams does a fabulous job the narration. She makes the characters sound different and handles accents really well. It give a great flavor to story, like you're watching a movie--but in your head.
