I will admit it was the cover with the Orc that grabbed my attention and took a chance of this. We meet Madelyn, who is making do in a changed world. she's living a world where the said 'veil' has opened and all manner of beings are now in her world. The Orc is Grimm and this is their journey in the first book of this new series.

The main fcm is an hard working waitress and she never has any fun because she’s always working. Her best friend convinces her to go to a party with her one night. On that night she sees an handsome tall orc security guard at the party . She feels an attraction right away a can’t stop thinking about him . He seems very protective of her and keeps watching her all night. She decides to leave the party a gets knocked down by the party goers . He heard her yelling for help and saves her from getting trampled by the large crowd . Then he gives her a ride home. The next day he comes back to her home to make sure it is safe . He becomes overly protective of her and he falls in love with her. He decides that she is his mate . This was very spicy and some parts . Had adventure. He’s a dominant in the bedroom and he is so sweet to her on a daily basis. I really enjoyed this . I love this author’s books so much.

Hard to rate because I did have to collect myself after rereading a section to make sure it said what I thought I read. I get the gist of it but obviously things are extremely questionable and we know we are in a toxic environment. NGL I was irritated AF at the FMC behavior and childish thrill of making situations dangerous and aggravating everything just for shits and giggles. Also don't wanna poke holes but bff never contacted the parents even when she would say that she would and that they would keep FMC on lock. But then they never show up at all?
