There are times when being a legendary shifter is a plain pain in the butt, and this is one of those times...
Farness Duncan, more commonly known as Ness or Nessie, had lived his life quite happily for more than three thousand years. An extremely rare kind of shifter, he lives simply, helping others through his funding foundation and traveling the world whenever he needed too. But at his heart, he called Arrowtown home. However in recent months Ness had been getting increasingly restless and even Doc couldn't help, although it was him who suggested Ness's beastie was getting ready to mate. The problem was, to who?
This has to be the most ridiculous version of winging it I’ve ever done.
Cyrus Marinus, gangster and great white shark shifter knew who Ness was to him the moment he saw him striding through the airport in Las Vegas. Fueled by his shark, he hunts the man down in Scotland, witnessing the most amazing transformation he'd ever seen. But while the claiming part was easy, once Ness got over his shock, settling down and building a life together wasn't without it's problems, especially when Ness learns early on the type of life Cyrus was used to living.
Everyone can change if they have the right incentive.
While Cyrus and Ness are happy with each other, other family members are not as pleased with their mating. There was also the little issue that Ness's beastie was aching for something more, but if Ness and Cryus gave into their instincts, then one of them was going to end up pregnant. For two accomplished businessmen with world wide interests, was that really the best idea?
Silly question, lol. Cyrus and Ness's story involves some unusual stains on the carpet, more than a few references to killing someone, family drama, mpreg, and an HEA because with a Lisa Oliver story, that's guaranteed.
Lisa Oliver had been writing non-fiction books for years when visions of half dressed, buff men started invading her dreams. Unable to resist the lure of her stories, Lisa decided to switch to fiction books, and now stories about her men clamor to get out from under her fingertips. When Lisa is not writing, she is usually reading with a cup of tea always at hand. Her grown children and grandchildren sometimes try and pry her away from the computer and have found that the best way to do it, is to promise her chocolate. Lisa will do anything for chocolate. Another awesome book from Lisa Oliver! Such a great series and this book just added to it! Loved these characters and their journey to their HEA. Can't wait for the next book in this series. Totally recommend!
well ..... Lisa is an author who always delivers a HEA and a sweet romance. What I did not expect was the lack of physical description for the main characters. Yes, Nessy is described as a big man and I know what color of hair he has, but I was left to flounder between big and heavy or well built solid muscle - same with the other main character (who comes across as a sweet but bumbling idiot, not a mafia boss). I was unable to connect as I kept getting side tracked by trying to visualize them and being unable to do that.
The wait for this book to come out was well worth it. It has a great plot, delightful character and a sweet but hot romance. Ness’s business advice to Cyrus while spot on was highly amusing. I especially liked how he had Cy on the carpet about the stain on the carpet. Now the wait starts for Rocky and Mal’s story begins.
A watered down version of all the other arrowtown books. This one feels like the ideal of what all shifters should expect when meeting their fated mates; there wasn't any untoward drama or bad information leading to a bad start to their mating. All drama was in their work lives. A nice change of pace.
Ness and Cy - beastie and shark— family issues and business issues, but I love that gradually built from respect. Both super businessman that blended their skills together to make both of their businesses better it was the birth of their daughter. The question is freshwater saltwater or both.
I really enjoyed Ness and Cyrus's story. I liked the way Ness supported Cy but at the same time steered him in the direction he wanted him to go. Overall, a really good book.
Great addition to the Arrowtown series. Loved the way Nessie and Cyrus got their HEA. I'm curious to see what Sofia shifts into. Hopefully she'll be able to follow both her daddys into the water. Now I can't wait to see what happens with Mal and Rocky. Highly recommended
I admit that I didn’t see Cyrus for Nessie but they definitely work together. They balance each other out in a way that only fated mates can. I enjoyed this one, just like all the rest!
Such a beautiful romance! I didn't see this match coming! A little surprised by how accepting Ness is of the super grey parts of Cyrus's life but I guess he's lived long enough to not be that judgmental. I enjoyed their journey to happily ever after.
I love the water beasts!! The loch ness legend family secret is a hilarious twist on that lore!!! I am still trying to reconcile our Blade and Cy as Jaws…poor sharks are so misunderstood.
