This is my first time reading one of Konstanz's books, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. From the synopsis and the beautiful cover, I knew it was going to be something that I would like. What can I say? I'm a sucker for princesses, castles, different worlds, swords, and dragons.

It is a fantastic book and kept me entranced from the beginning. I wanted to keep reading, to find out what happened, hoping that everything would work out in the end. It reminded me of the Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. And I absolutely loved those books!

I cannot wait for more of this series, and just from Konstanz in general.

This is the first book and first time I have heard of Konstanz Silverbow. I really enjoyed this book and I do look forward to reading more books from her. The cover is beautiful. I was interested in the story from the very beginning. Not ever hearing or reading any of Konstanz books I didn't know what to expect. But I was able to be drawn into the story and did not want to put the book down.

Missing Royal started off so awesome! You immediately make a connection to Shanice as she struggles with her life at school. Shanice doesn't belong there. The other students know it, and she knows it. From the beginning you see that Shanice is brave. I enjoyed her interactions with Valentino and thought they were super adorable together. I liked how this story began in the real world and later became a fantasy, filled with magic, sword fights, charming princes, evil witches, and dragons. The middle of the story was a little more challenging for me to get through since there were a few things that didn't quite make sense to me. The ending was very epic and ended with quite a surprise I didn't see coming.

What I didn't like about the book: There were several grammatical typos that were a little distracting. There are elements that are contradicting such as settings, distance, and characters. I felt as if the story could have had more world building. Shanice is thrown into a world she does not know, and we are left with little description about the world at first. It slowly comes later, but in order to set the stage it would have been helpful to see what the world was like. There were also moments I felt that could have been bigger, more epic, but instead happened quickly. I think all of these things are relatively minor and to the average reader they may not catch them since the story is enjoyable.

What I did like about the book: Shanice was a great character, though she did cry a lot. She was bold and brave and rose to a challenge without complaint. I loved her interactions with Valentino and Javiar. Valentino reminds me of a prince charming that runs a little hot and cold. Javiar reminds me of someone that is true to their word and dedicated to be a great friend. The story was filled with magic, love, and bravery, all of which I just love! Fuentes, the dragon, was honorable and adorable and such a cute addition to the story. How great would it be to have the King of Dragon's on your side? None the less get to fly on his back! The overall plot was very complex and deeply personal. I loved the beginning of the story, how it all begins is very interesting and moving. The ending is pretty awesome and epic as well! The very, very last chapter (a little preview for a future read) was awesome! I can't wait to see how Javiar's story continues!

Though this book was a little difficult for me to get through (mainly the middle of the story), I do think it has great potential to be a wonderful series. One great thing about reading a work from an author is that we get a little glimpse of them in their stories. I think Konstanz Silverbow is on her way to becoming a great story teller.

Who would I recommend this book to: Readers whom enjoy fantasy with modern world elements, enjoys a cutesy love story, and looking for something light and entertaining.

I really enjoyed this story. I am looking forward to the next. I am rating this a 4 star read and it is great for readers of all ages. Dive into the world of dragons, princes, pixies, and more as you travel with Shanice into a world she never knew was there.
Shanice is bullied on a regular basis by her classmates. Teachers look on with sadness and pity however she stands tall and continues on. Her mother and father are her best of friends, and her
only friends until Valentino comes along. For her 16th birthday her gift was horse riding lessons. Valentino is the one who trains and teaches her. He is also the one she looks forward to seeing on a regular basis. Like I said he is her only friend. Too bad the rest do not realize what they are missing out on but perhaps it all happens for a reason.
On Shanice’s 17th birthday life changes dramatically. Finding out that her parents were not her true parents and she comes from another land about leaves her lost. Finding out she is a princess and has to save her other world finds her even more lost. Her only savior is Valentino who is also from this other world and gets to take her ‘home’. Stay with the story to find out what tasks she must complete in order to save her new world with the man she really loves.
This was a great story and I am now wanting to read Javier’s story. Thank you for letting me enjoy this.

I will start off by saying that if you haven’t read anything by Konstanz Silverbow you don’t know what you are missing. Missing Royals is the second book I have read by Konstanz and it blew me away. Shanice just wants to fit in but doesn’t feel like she belongs anywhere. On her birthday her parents tell her she is a princess from another world and must go back there. It’s a world filled with magic and she is more than royalty, she is the only chance at stopping Mendina. But she can’t do it alone; she must find the other missing royals to help her. This book is filled with mythological creatures and enough action to keep your interest. The main character has so many emotions going on and she just pulls you into the story. I can’t wait to read more of Konstanz work, she is so amazingly talented!!

Look at this cover!!! Enough said!!! lol I knew I was hooked as soon as I read the synopsis and seen the cover. I loved every minute of this story it didn't take me long to read at all, I found it really hard to stop. This is a really great adventure/romance YA novel that I'm excited to see if their will be another one!! This isn't my first book by this Author and I have to say this is my fav story out of the ones I have read!!! Konstanz really outdid herself with the writing in this one the terms, the clothes, heck even the settings were GREAT, she really made it feel as if I was standing right next to Shanice.

Missing Royal is a book that has a lot of heart in it and you can tell that in every detail of the story. The author has really taken the art storytelling to new heights with this story that captures your heart. I really enjoyed going on this adventure to find those who have hidden from evil, had their homes destroyed by someone who is just like them.

This story has adventure, magic, dragons, princes and princess all you want in a fairy tale adventure and it does not just end it leaves you wanting to know where is the adventure taking us next. I so glad i got the great honor of reading an advanced copy of this wonderful story.

Shanice is teased, bullied and treated badly by her fellow students. Shanice doesn’t fit in and she hears a voice in her mind calling her home. Shanice doesn’t seem to fit in at home either. She knows she is different but she doesn’t know why. On her 17th birthday, Shanice and Valentino travel to Avonathia. This is a really good book. The pacing, story and writing is good. There is a lot of adventure and excitement. The characters are interesting. I enjoyed reading it. 4 stars.

Okay

I enjoyed reading this book although it could be read as a standalone the story is left open to continue with Javier who is like sleeping beauty. Hidden away in a glass casket for two hundred years. It is a good storyline and the characters are written well although it was hard forming a deep connection with them. This is a light read for all ages. The end was a bit rushed for my liking.

Good idea

Thew plot of this is surprisingly different than many lost princess stories as the heroine has skills and isn't jus a damsel in distress. That being said the love triangle is cliché and almost unnecessary.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a strong female lead and lots of fantasy.

Really enjoyed the story line. Quick-paced with characters you love and hate rolled into a dynamic and entertaining read. The protagonist is relatable right along side the villain. I won't say much more for I hate to give out spoilers, but definitely a good read. I'm off to start book 2 now!

Missing Royal was not a very good read. Once I found out what was happening I mistakenly thought that this would be the first part of the story (since it was book 1). I didn't realize they would find all the missing royals and defeat the evil villain all in not very much time. It would have worked better had the story been developed more, was longer, took more time so you can really get into it.

Shanice has grown up in our world, but she never really seemed to fit in. She hears voices sometimes and her classmates think she is crazy. She only really has one friend and that is Valentino who works where she gets riding lessons. She has had a crush on him forever, and now, as it is getting closer to her birthday it seems like he might like her too. Only he never really does anything about it. Then on her birthday her world turns upside down. She finds out she is not from our world, but another. She is a princess and she must return to find the other missing royals and take down the evil princess set on destroying everything.

Up until this point I was excited to be reading this story. I couldn't wait to see what this other world was like and go on these fun adventures. Only that never really happens. What is her real world like? Not sure. I know a few place names, know of a few mythical/magical creatures that live there, but I don't feel like I know much about the world. Here she is placed in this world where she doesn't know the customs and ways and it felt like such a huge missed opportunity. I wanted to learn about this place. This story needed some world building so when Shanice is off trying to save the world I am more engaged. Instead it was like where are they going? Wait how did they get here so quickly? I thought this was farther away...I don't know. I don't really know where they are going half the time. It just didn't work for me.

The other issue I had? Well Shanice and Valentino are supposed to be in love, but I really did not like Valentino. He treated her terribly, ignoring her and being all hurt over nothing. Why was he hurt and lashing out? Because he told her that they were set to marry but he knows she will only marry for love. She says correct, I will only marry for love, and kisses him. She never says she won't marry him or she doesn't love him, she tries to show him but he takes that as she hates me and won't marry me. It was lame. So the whole rest of the book was just him being not very nice and Shanice and Javier, another character, going on adventures. Really Javier was a sweetheart and I thought maybe they would end up together, but no.

So there was not very much world building, I didn't like Valentino, what about the storyline? Well everything was way too rushed. All of the "hidden" royals were found in two seconds. Some of them got on board with helping to defeat the evil princess and then there was a big showdown that was two seconds long, the end. It really didn't work for me. Everything was too easy and too quickly resolved. Oh and not to mention that Shanice shows up and her real parents and everyone are all you must kill this other princess and she doesn't really question that. She is just like okay and goes off to fulfill this prophecy without question. What if the other princess really didn't do anything? What if it is your family who are the bad guys? Why are you just blindly doing what others tell you? It didn't make sense with her character, how she was supposed to think for herself and do what she felt was right. Really the whole story was kind of a mess for me. The high point for sure was Javier as he was so sweet and kind. I really liked him. Everything else? Not so much, but then again I don't feel like you really go to know the world or people very well.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review as part of a blog tour.
This was a fun story and a very cool idea, I thought there were a few holes and maybe it was my memory but I think two characters were interchanged, but this could also be due to the fact I got an ARC copy and I think these small things will be fixed in the reprint, but this is my reason for not giving the book five stars. The story as a whole was interesting and the pace was quick and it held my attention, so overall a good read.
Shanice was a neat character and her story kinda broke my heart, the lonely girl who can't fit in, reluctantly leaves the only home she has ever known and she carries the hopes of a nation on her shoulders. At first I thought she was stubborn, but then I thought how would any of us act in this situation, the main thing is she grew a lot as time went on and she found the place she belonged the place she had always been looking for. I thought some of the Journey's were pointless but then when I looked back I realized she needed those, she needed answers and she needed experience.
The two Princes at her side made things a little fuzzy but I think she knew what she wanted all along and I guess you could say she got her happy ending, but it was not all happy and I like where this is gong to lead us in the coming book and books of the series. Even Mendina who is hell bent on revenge made me feel sorry for her, it's to bad she let rage blind her and she became the way she was because of it. I really enjoy fantasy and this one is well done so if you too enjoy a good fantasy then this one is for you!

This story starts with the main character Shanice at school being bullied. Someone puts a food bomb in her locker the result is Shanice being covered in mustard, ketchup and pickles. Later in class she hears a voice in her head it tells her " Come home, child. Your time is near. We need you here. Please, Shanice." that ends in her leaving school. But instead of going home she goes to the stables to ride star her horse and one of her best friends. Once there Valentino, friend number two, walks in and end up riding together and race to a broken gate. She wins and gets there first. Star is unsure of the gate so Shanice gets down to look at the gate. She look to see if there is anything on the other side of the gate, but when she goes to touch it Valentino screams don't and jumps from his horse and rushes toward Shanice. He then tells her it's said to be haunted she knows he's lying, but brushes it off. The next day on her birthday her parents act strange. Making her breakfast in bed and going to pick up jewelry for her. Later in the morning the voice is back telling her "Your time has come, love. It's time to come home". A little later they are eating breakfast again when Valentino comes in and they tell her she is going home, but back to her real home. The one that her and Valentino are from. The one she had no idea about. I enjoyed this book and loved the characters. If you like fantasy and lots of adventure. A main character that goes from being bullied to kicking ass. Then you'll love this book. I give this book five stars for a great adventure.

This was a great book! Shanice doesn't fit in. She is mocked and disliked at school. Pranks are vicious and even the teachers pity her. Her only friend is her riding instructor whom she races on horseback daily. She also hears voices in her head and is afraid they will send her to an institution if they ever find out. Her parents are great, a bit anti-electronic but loving. Her world is changed when her parents reveal the truth about her origins and she learns of her mission.
I absolutely loved this book. The story line was great and flowed. The characters were engaging and I couldn't put it down. Shanice was living a fantasy that most little girls have, to be a princess. Only problem is, nothing is working like it should. She and the love of her life aren't seeing eye to eye. She has a quest that she isn't sure how to fulfill. Her new home is full of things that she doesn't understand. BUT she is determined to do her best at everything and to fulfill her destiny!
I rate this a 5/5. I completely enjoyed this and can't wait to read more

I absolutely loved Missing Royal. It is a perfect combination of different worlds and romance for the YA category, although it is a definite great read for someone of any age. The characters and storyline were fantastic and Missing Royal was a great read.

The characters were fun to decipher and learn more about. I really liked Shanice and Valentino, as well as Javier. I loved the chemistry between them, and can't wait to see where things go in the next books.

I loved the fantasy aspect of the book. With the dragons, princes and princesses as well as all of the other unheard of creatures in this story, it really gives it a fun aspect and makes you want to keep reading to find out more.

*The only thing I didn't quite like was the amount of crying the characters did, as well as how fast the story was going. I felt that some scenes could have been explained in greater detail.

The storyline of Missing Royal was fantastic. Konstanz did a really good job at making the book a nice fast-paced read, and kept you interested throughout the entire story. I am excited for the next book! I have to give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Where to start, where to start? Missing Royal starts like any other book of this type, outcast teenage girl who doesn't seem to fit in finds out she's from somewhere else, gets home and has to save the world. This is a popular theme, and with all the ways it can be twisted and turned, it never gets tiring to read.

That's about where the similarities end though. Shanice doesn't go it alone, like in the other books of this theme. In fact, her first quest and the most important is to find the other missing royals.

I liked this story didn't hide the morals it wanted to convey. Shanice has to overcome her obstacles with friendship, morals, teamwork, and love. Even at her lowest moments, she was reminded that the burden was not just hers to carry.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good fantasy adventure full of friends and magick. Even children that are able to read it regardless of their age. (I would let my 8 year old read it since it has princesses and a good message)

I look forward to reading The Enchanted Rose, the second book in the Finding Gold series.

I give this book 5 of 5 paws

I love this lady's style! The world she created in this book is stunning. It really was difficult to put it down. (Who needs sleep or work, right?) Shanice is an outcast, bullied throughout school for being different. She hears a voice calling to her, telling her to come home. Only she has no idea who is calling her or why. The only joy in her life are the ridding lessons her parents have set up for her, and her only friend and ridding instructor, Valentino. Her parents have given her fencing lessons, archery, and riding lessons, never realizing they served a purpose. Then on her 17th birthday, her parents drop a bomb on her. She's a princess from
another world.
The characters were great! I loved how I felt one way about a character from their first impression and either that impression was backed up or changed completely the more I read the book. The characters are very realistic and far from being shallow and flat.
This book has it all, magic, adventure, dragons and royalty.
If you haven't read any of her work, you have to, this book will blow you away! I can't wait for the next in this series!

Missing Royal by Konstanz Silverbow is about Shanice, a girl who never fit in even when she finds she is a missing princess from another world. Her parents sent her to Earth as a baby to protect her from the wicked person destroying kingdoms. Not that Shanice is home, things don't seem much better. The story is told in present first person by Shanice which makes it much easier to understand her frustration, fear, and anger. People keep expecting her to know things that she can't possibly know know, like she has powerful magic, or tell her things in riddles that she can't figure out because she has no point of reference. And everything happens so quickly, she can barely catch her breath. It's a good thing she already knows how to use a sword and ride a horse.
The storyline was good. We don't get much of a backstory on the rest of the characters unless Shanice can pull the information out of them and we don't see much of her new home because she doesn't see much of it! Once they have the welcome home party, Shanice literally hits the ground running, or riding.
I like forward to other books in the series.

Shanice is the girl who never fit in at school, always became the target for bullies, never had any friends and had no one brave enough to stand up for her. She sometimes heard voices that she learned to keep to herself, to avoid worrying her parents any further than they already did.

Her only friend is Valentino, her horse riding trainer, who she is developing feelings for.

Her life as she knew it came to a standstill on her seventeenth birthday when she she was told that she was given up by her birth parents as a baby for her own protection. Valentino was actually her guardian and would be escorting her back to her true home.

From this point onwards, Shanice is thrown into many situations that she has no idea how to handle but she somehow muddles her way through. She is the key to ending the war with Mendina by finding the missing royals and she learns some invaluable lessons along the way.

I am looking forward to seeing how this series connects together.

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Konstanz Silverbow never disappoints! Missing Royal is a perfect marriage of reality and fantasy. Her blending of the two worlds is seamless as the princess goes about her day using hashtags and pop culture references. Shanice is an impressive girl! She undergoes a sharp and sudden change of not only her lifestyle but her very person. Though it rocks her to her core, she handles it all with unparalleled finesse. She is an extremely likable, well-developed character. Javier is snarky. He’s annoying. But he’s awesome. And his secrets gave me a little thrill as I learned them. But my absolute favorite character of them all is Fuentes. I want to hang out with him! I love how the journey has many twists and turns. The ending was so unexpected that I didn't expect it! Silverbow’s Missing Royal leaves the reader with some questions, the author skillfully dragging the reader into a vicious cycle of book buying!

Okay...

A wonderful adventure and fairy tale. The concepts and bones of the plot were great but the story itself fell short. There was so much missing and rushed that it was difficult to get into the story. The main character had been told she was supposed to save the world she was from but hasn't been there since she was born. It's not an unheard concept but the fact that she seemed to know where she was going and where to go and how to do things she's never done before was just a little too over the top. I wanted something more believable and realistic.
There was so much missed opportunity with the book. It could've been really great but it lacks depth of not only the story but the characters as well and world building.
The characters themselves were pretty flat and I didn't particularly care for any of them.
I really enjoy fairytales and I hope that this series gets better as it goes.

I fell in love with the cover of Missing Royal long before I knew the story behind it. This cover drew me in and made me want to know the story that lied in wait behind it. Now I have the story and understand how the cover ties in and I was not disappointed at all. Everything about this story is so very interesting an unique. I don't want to give any of the story away as I want to keep it locked up tight inside of my heart forever but, where would the fun in that be. I will tell you that every word, character, and scene was so completely vivid that it was as if I lived inside Missing Royal and had been there my whole life. I will not soon forget this story. Konstanz Silverbow as written an amazing awe inspiring book that has captured my heart. I am not sure where the Finding Gold series will take me next but I am ready for the adventure to begin!

This book was amazing! I read it during a really rough week and it was well worth it. This book had action, adventure, dragons, dungeons, princes, princesses and so much more. The characters were well written and I still can't decide who my favorite character was. I am still reeling from this story and I'm not sure what to say about it.

Konstanz has written an amazing book and I plan on reading it again and seeing all of the extra features that you don't see in the ARC. As it was an ARC there were some grammatical errors but nothing really major. Great plot and great characters. I was however a little confused during the epilogue but my questions were answered in the end. I definitely can't wait to read that characters story!

Very interesting characters, very well build new world the main character comes into.
Had a bit of problems with typing errors and missing words, but all in all it is very well possible to read the book and follow the line of the story.
Love dragons and magic in stories so that was a very big plus. Felt very annoyed with the prince lots of times, but guess that's a man's point of view...
In conclusion, if you love magic with a bit of romance and some adventure, this would be the ideal book for you. 4.5 stars from me!

I loved reading this book and who couldn't after seeing the beautiful cover.

Lately I have been a sucker for books with Castles, Princes, Princesses and being brought into the amazing new worlds the are set in and this book is one of my favorites. I absolutely loved the characters in this book, especially Shanice. With her world literally changing and learning who she really is, it made it very hard to put down this book.

With plenty of action, romance and adventure with a great ending Missing Royals is a definite must read. I can't wait to read more books by this amazing author.

Fantastic start to a promising series

Shanice is thrown from her everyday life of attending high school and being bullied into a world where she is royalty and must find the other royals to defeat Medina, the witch who is destroying Avonthia's kingdoms.
Shanice was sent away to protect her until her 17th birthday when she must return to her destiny. She meets dragons, fairies, pixies and Mymees, who all pledge to help her along with the other royals she can find.
Absolutely loved this book
