Valuable Lessons for Life

The Way of Life by author Lawrence J. Epstein is a riveting read of a writer finding his niche and comfort zone in writing. The explorations of the writer lack depth in some areas. The exploration of his existence and by extension human existence helps the writer seek to, answer the question of what is the purpose of life. Daniel Summerhill seeks to find meaning too his life, as he ventures to delve into life experiences he will find his purpose in life and what he has to do while on this side of the universe. His character is benched in truth and integrity. His interaction with characters/ people throughout his life makes this read very real and enlightening. One can relate to feeling lost at some point in their life and leaping out in faith with blood, sweat and, sleepless nights to achieve their place and space. The Way of Life is a true expression of the ways of life.

What stood out to me:
1. Always be true to yourself.
2. Follow your dreams.
3. While on your journey cultivate meaningful relationships.
4. Build your community.

It is 1970, Greenwich Village. The free love days of the 1960s are largely over, but the tumult they brought with them can still be felt everywhere. Danny Summerhill feels it. It is what compels him to walk out of his college class one day and to seek a new destiny. He wants to become a writer, to express the complex emotions that are inside of him. Luckily, he is in one of the very places where it is most possible to do that.

Follow Danny as he meets fellow writers, dreamers, and artists. The Village is a place of large, loud personalities, and Danny is in the process of becoming one of them. It’s a messy business, but it will come to redefine and shape his life. This heartfelt literary endeavor perfectly captures what it was like to be in a very special place at a particularly poignant moment in time.

A work of art

This wonderful guide helped me understand the importance of having clarity about my purpose in life and I can say that now, after reading this book, I understand the path to a more conscious, meaningful and spiritually enlightened life.
What I liked most is that the author emphasizes and provides tools, spiritual and philosophical reflections, all this focused on practical advice, explaining ancient and contemporary meditations that we can apply in our daily lives.
Personally, I have started to apply all these tools and I feel a noticeable change in my relationships, my work and my way of living.
I recommend this book to everyone who wants to understand more about self-exploration, transformation of the self and finding inner peace.

A captivating novel
If you’re fond of stories that are related to self-discovery and introspection, then you should read “This way to the light” by Lawrence J. Epstein.
This story revolves around David, a young man who goes through the chaos that originated in the year 1970 in Greenwich Village. During that year, he strived to find his passion in writing, to understand his feelings and to cope with people who don’t stop bothering him about his future. He must focus on his own to find answers.
What a story! It’s an engaging and constant quest that will leave you thinking about everything, as it happened to me. It's a story that invites readers to understand the way certain emotions affect people but it also shows how to cope with them. It's a great story! I highly recommend it.

I highly recommend this book

I really liked how this book invites us to travel in time and additionally we follow the story of a character named Daniel. This seemed incredible to me since my name is Daniel and I feel identified with each one of the moments that we live day by day. Although I was not called to enlist in the army, I feel the analogy of starting to work very early to be able to pay for my studies and achieve the goals within my personal goals. As I already mentioned, the author has a very special ability to hook us and make us take a very special level of connection. I highly recommend this book, the story is very interesting and it generates many lessons for us from each one of the moments that we live.

great book!

This book takes place in a very challenging period of time in the USA: the 70’s. In my opinion, the author makes a great job describing -through the main character Daniel Summerhill- all the dilemmas of traditions vs. freedom, as well as all the cultural changes and idealisms that young people faced during this years.
The way this book is written, with a very simple vocabulary and a fast-paced narrative, helps the reader on one side, feel connected easily with the main character and all the journey he does, in order to discover himself, and on the other hand, it helps the reader understand the main challenges of those times. I enjoyed this reading full of history and introspection.

I just finished reading “THIS WAY TO THE LIGHT” by Lawrence J. Epstein and I think it is a very interesting novel. It tells the story of Daniel Summerhill, a young man who, in the midst of the confusion of 1970 in Greenwich Village, decides to leave his university class and embark on a personal search. One of the things I liked most about the book and what I identified with, is the personal search that Daniel begins with his life purpose. The novel reflects the internal struggle one has to go through with external pressure and how one must be true to oneself to advance in personal growth. Recommended book.
