A History of Astrology, Divination and Prophecy by DK. I mostly bought science books because I love science. However, I thought it wasn't a bad idea to try to understand the physical world from a different perspective even if it's not based on falsifiability as Uncle Karl Popper liked. After all, billions of people believe in astrology, which is also related to religion and culture so it has an important historical perspective. This book is a survey of the history of astrology all around the world, starting with Assyrian astrology over 3000 years ago. The book mentions an ancient city named Nimrud. I Googled it and discovered the city was destroyed by ISIS in 2015, which almost brought tears to my eyes. DK books are superb, as always. Even their non science books are well researched and the illustrations and pictures are beautiful. This is a brand new 2025 book and I love it. There are so many things in astrology to explore and some are very interesting such as the Chinese zodiac, Yin Yang, etc.
This was an interesting read, with lots of good pictures and illustrations. I appreciated the attempts at including other parts of the world besides Europe.
