Mara
My entire life has been spent in service of the Sternotheri. My mistress kept me safe and now it’s time for me to pay her back. The Warrior who rescues me claims that I’m his mate, but she says he can’t be trusted.
Everyday is a battle between what I have been taught and what he makes me feel, what he makes me need.
Could I be wrong? Could he be my everything?
Only, will he still want me when he knows what I’ve been hiding?

O’Rec
The lost Prince of Arracate, that’s what they call me throughout the Galaxy after the destruction of our planet and the loss of my family.
Right now, I feel even more lost than then, because I found my mate, my Zarra, only to realize she is controlled by our nemesis. I am going to do everything in my power to rescue her, to build our bond and show her that I am not what she thinks I am, and that we can be so much more - we can be everything.

Marit Prins may just look like your average nearly-forty woman, but you don't know what's going on inside someone's mind, until they start to write books.

Ever guessed that mother you wave to at school writes spicy steamy alien books? Or heard an ABBA song and thought how funny it would be if you summoned a demon with that song?

As a certified romance reader, Marit has been loving romance ever since she secretly found her grandmother's stash. American romance opened up a whole new world, and since she has been making up stories since she can remember - it was now time to put them on paper.

If you like crazy, spicy stories about aliens and monsters, stay tuned. There is much more to come.

When Marit is not writing, she is either running, cycling or sewing, but most of the time she can be found with a nice romantic suspense or crazy monster romance.

I didn’t think anything could top book 1. I’m glad it was written differently enough that there was no such comparison. Marit gives us a whole new look at this world with a new view and situation for these two. Being raised up by the enemy Mara knows no different until she’s confronted with her mate O’Rec and in his arms she learns who she really is. Mara grows so much through this book. It’s very easy to get lost in the world created and let the story unfold. Being book 2 we’re in the thick of the plot and get some meat and potatoes on action and world building. I’m beyond ready for my book 3 and my fave warrior!!

Not often that the second book surpases the first. But with this book, it is true.
It gave me all the good from book 1: posessive obsessive aliens with a great world. This book added to it with more backstory and 2 main characters that I enclosed in my heart and felt so deeply for.

I loved going back into the word that Marit Prins created — this time for Prince O’Rec and his mate Mara. O’Rec very much wants Mara to be his mate. Mara…not so much. But when you spend your life enslaved by an alien race, I couldn’t really blame her. O’Rec definitely had the touch her and die ultra sexy protective thing going for him but he was surprisingly sweet and understanding. That’s not to say that Marit doesn’t know how to bring the spice because…*fans self* she does! Just one bed…tail play….yes to all, please! Mara has her own journey through this book. I thoroughly enjoyed her growth along with the additional world building. I loved it, would highly recommend if alien romance is your jam (or even if it’s not take a risk…I dare you), and I’m looking forward to book 3!!

A pleasant surprise for an Arc from quite fresh author!

I read the first book of the series not too long ago and it was an easy read alien romance with some small bumbs that caught my eye, but this one shows that if you give a chance, they will grow!

Rescuing Mara had a smooth storyline, in some points I would have liked to see scenes have more depth but all and all I see how Marit is finding her vibe on writing!

I would have love to see a bit more resistance from FMC since she did have a traumatic past, I would have love to see more healing process from her before leaping to her man's lap but that's just my taste 😂

Spice is spicing and the scenes are written smoothly to the storyline and they don't just stick out as a seperate F* scenes...

I love the warrior race she has created and I'm going to be watching for the next one to drop!

Nice, easy read for alien lovers, I recommend!

✨️ touch her and die
✨️ tail play
✨️ alien peen
✨️ found family

"Oh he will come for her," she says, looking at me. "And she will be his downfall."

Marit has done it again! I loved the first installment of the Arracate Warriors and this one was even better!

First off, I'm glad we got to hear more about the characters we already love, while getting to know new ones and side characters. This book follows O'Rec and Mara. Mara is a human slave for a enemy alien race (who happen to smell really, really bad) and O'rec is the Prince of our warriors that we already know and love.

"The bond between a Warrior and his Zara in the purest thing there is in the universe. It's a pull between two souls which are meant to be together. We Arracate believe that it is written in the stars."

I cannot say enough about Mara. She was fed so many lies and she made sure to form her own opinions. Her growth was exponential and I am here for it! Orec had just as much growth into the King his people need. I won't give too much away but I will say if you are into alien romance, tails, gentlemen and hard fought love- pick this up!

"She may need some time, but as long as you are patient, you will win her heart."

Another well done space adventure with all the good romance and plot! I am becoming a huge fan on Marit Parins with each book I read. The story is unique and writing is refreshingly good, I could easily see this being a long running series.
I enjoyed this one, the action scenes and pacing kept up well with the flow of the book and the characters are rememberable and well written. The conclusion is also well done in setting up for the next book. I am a huge fan of alien romances in general so I may be a bit biased, but after a while all the stories start to blend together. I do not have that struggle with these books. They are set apart from the rest and i genuinely cannot wait to see what Marit comes up with next!

“You are everything, my star."

The Arracate lost everything but the Sternotheri keep ploting in the shadows.
Mara is a sweet girl, slave all her life at service of Ananta the cruel Sternotheri princess.
O'Rec is the lost prince of Arracate and with one look falls hard.
But the Sternotheri's hate is brutal and they'll do everything to keep them apart.
While the theme of the series is not original, the author knew how to keep the reader in a full engagement with loveable characters, a good world building and a plot that kept me crossing my fingers for the two lovers finding their happy ending.
The author left hints of T'Rak's story and I'm very curious to know what she's going to throw into his path.

Gleeful Goblin Review: I'm such a sap for fated partner bonds, found family, and "noble fight against overwhelming odds" tropes so I was in absolute bliss while reading this story. The story has a feel like the Corsairs series from Ruby Dixon in the "rag tag crew of aliens finds their fated partners one by one and become extended families" way. In this case our MMC O'rec is also the "lost prince" of a planet that has been destroyed by the same race of aliens who are keeping our FMC Mara (and O'rec's fated partner/Zarra) captive. From Prince to security, navigation, and medical officer is quite the change. The person directly responsible for keeping Mara captive is Ananta and she gives serious Princess Azula from Avatar the Last Airbender series when it comes to power mad, cruel, and unhinged. And just like Azula, she and her father use and discard people without care but not before twisting those people all up in knots until they don't know the good from the bad guys...

This book is a fight against the odds, against what @bu$e and those who deliver it can make you think or feel, and what it means to come home in the fullest sense. It's not an easy path for these two but the end is so very worthwhile. 5/5 Stars

Unapologetically Yours

In Rescuing Mara, the second entry in Marit Prins’ Warriors of Arracate series, readers are treated to a refreshing alien romance that stands strong as a standalone story.

The narrative expertly blends suspense with deep emotion. The author’s vivid world-building creates a universe that feels both immersive and dynamic. At its heart are two compelling protagonists— O'Rec and Mara, the mysterious alien MMC, and the relatable human MFC —whose sizzling chemistry lights up the pages as they navigate love amid extraordinary chaos. While the prose is smooth and inviting, and the high spice level adds a daring twist, some secondary characters might leave you wanting a bit more depth. Still, this novel is a delightful escape for anyone who adores romance with an interstellar twist.

⭐️Obsessed alpha male
⭐️Mated
⭐️One bed
⭐️Alien romance 🌶🌶🌶🌶

I didn't think I could love this book more than the first one, but Marit has done it again.

The subtle changed in writing created a story I got totally lost in and could put the book down.

Mara and O'Rec have gone through so much and I love how their story unfolded.
The tension, the obsession and the love between them will steal your heart (and your mind).

If you're looking for a strong, Alpha male but absolute gentleman for his mate then O'Rec is the alien for you.

Another master piece. This book follows Mara and O'Rec. They have been dealt a bad hand in live and is making the best of it. Our dear lost prince has finally found his guiding star and she is fierce. I laughed and cried with this one. When they finally found each other I was so happy, they deserved happiness in every form and they got it in the end. Our King and Our Queen

I ws so curieus for O’rec his story. And the way Marra becoming herself was absolutely fearless and quick.

Just like in the first book, How the bond is formed, you get the complete picture of hou the bond works!! Had a bid of tears in my eyes at this book.

Can’t wait for our grumpie and grieving T’rak his story!! It makes me a little sad to.

Another great book by the author! I really liked this one, the chemistry between O’rec and Mara sizzles, while trust is learned between them. Lots of exciting action, and also as much feels as the first book had. The spice was top notch!
