Katniss (terrible name btw lol) was a hard worker and was balancing a full time job at night while attending nursing school during the day. Daisy, who was her crazy best friend, surprises her with a day of relaxation and fun with amazing seats at the Cougars football game. Kat was a super fan of the Cougar's especially Asher, a linebacker on the team. They cross paths later that night and after Kat decides to let her hair down they have a night neither of them will ever forget.
I liked the characters, but the story was mid. I didn't like the rehashing of the story in order to switch povs. After their night together the story fell flat. We didn't experience much on page. Kats lackluster thought process at the end 😒 was underwhelming. Girl please that excuse was ridiculous. I also didn't like that it ended in a cliff hangar. The point of a novelette is to be a short story, if you wanted it to continue just write a full book 🤷🏾♀️ Oh and then all the Ash names were confusing and clearly had the author confused as well as she used the wrong names a few times 🥴 Lastly there were pictures at the start of the chapters that didn't apply to the story 🙄 What was the reason
Mel Dau!!!!!! You is nasty!!!!!! And I love it lol. That was they threw each other all across that room 😂😂😂😂 I was living for it!!!!! The only thing I didn’t like was , and this is a person feeling for me, I hate when women don’t tell the other party they are pregnant. Now I completely understand why she did it but you take time from a person and you don’t even give them a chance to react. He never got to watch you grow his child and his child come into the world and i think that’s a little mean. I know this is a fictional book also, but 🤷🏾♀️. Overall though this story was amazing !!!Ohhhhh and I loooove the Geechi dialect.
A decent story that lost stars because of how it was told, I feel like the author wasted the dual POVs by rehashing what already occurred in the previous chapter. Like if we already seeing the night through Katniss eyes then why would you retell the same part from his side. Especially knowing it was ending kinda open. The chemistry was there but I felt like the time skip with no real emphasis on what Kat had going on was wack. Additionally her reason for not coming forward was dumb and weak AF. You ain’t wanna seem like a groupie so you deprive your child the opportunity of having a father?? Chile please lmaoo
3.5⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ So basically, this is just a prequel to “So Special Fanatic Love.” It gives you just enough information about each of the main characters to the actual book so that you know what’s going on, and it is all spice.
This was hilarious!! Don't listen to this story while trying to get work done. The conversations and vernacular, the writing...just everything was hilarious. And then that cliffhanger... Clearly, there's more to the story afterward, but the spice was spicy and it was a quick read/listen. In the spirit of the way this book was written, here is my synopsis: Katniss (why was that her name?) was not a hoe, she just had one night of having hoe tendencies with her favorite football player. 🤣🤣 4-4.5 stars due to the ending. While I understood Katniss's decision, I didn't like it.
Oh I ate this one UP…..it was a quick read but gave me just enough…..these two were on FIRE, I know they had to throw them sheets out when they checked out. The ending though…..oh boy!!!!
I just rushed to book 2 to find out there is no book 2 🥲 ( slams my kindle on the table) girl the cliffhanger! Was Asher the father! Did him and fat fat have a happy ending lmao lawwwd
I thought this was a really cute short story! The ending left me wanting a bit more, though. It felt like I was suddenly kicked out of the house with a door slammed in my face for no reason. 😏🤷🏽 But overall, I enjoyed it!
I liked the banter and chemistry between Katniss and Asher. I would have preferred to have had their full story instead of it ending on a cliffhanger. I’m hoping that the author provides a follow up on these two soon.
If you’re looking for a drama free story with a bit of spice, you may like this one.
Baby I was hooked as soon as they met! Asher and Katniss this was a nasty good time I enjoyed it from start to finish Mel Dau don’t disappoint another banger!
Now Ms. Dau, you know darn well you shouldn’t have done that to us! Like why leave us hanging. I’m on a short leash with all these damn cliffhangers in these books then having to wait months for the next part! I myself need to know what happens next and I wanna know now.
One thing I do know is Asher better not play himself when it comes to Katniss because it’s plain as day she didn’t want anything from him since she hid her pregnancy.
Now I’m going to be stalking Amazon like a junkie looking for the next book.
Sidebar: Asher did turn her a** every which way but loose and she happily returned the favor!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Naughty Fan by Mel Dau was my introduction to this author, and consider me officially converted into a fan. This short novella packs a serious punch. Asher is a pro football player, and Katniss is his number-one fan. Not the casual kind, but the kind who knows team stats and lives for game day. When her best friend takes her to a meet-and-greet and a game, Katniss finally comes face-to-face with the man she’s been cheering for.
Things really take off when they end up at the same club after the game. Asher steps in to save Katniss from unwanted attention from her ex, and their chemistry is instant and undeniable. One night turns scorching, and Asher gives Katniss exactly what she’s been craving. But when the night ends, reality steps back in and Asher wants to take care of her, while Katniss worries about appearances, and they part ways.
Life moves on… until it doesn’t. Katniss finishes nursing school, Asher finishes his football season, and when they cross paths again, Katniss isn’t alone—she has a baby. One who looks an awful lot like Asher. The story ends on a cliffhanger that had me staring at my Kindle, ready for the next installment immediately.
Mel Dau delivered romance, spice, and emotional tension in one compact, addictive read. After just one book, this author has earned a permanent spot on my must-read list.
Ms. Mel ! Now why would you gone ahead and just leave me on a cliffhanger like that where I’m stuck holding my breath!! Like ma’am that’s cruel and unusual punishment and I’m feigning for the rest because I just gotta know what’s next ! I absolutely LOVE how she was his #1 fan and he NEVER in his wildest dreams expected to turn out and be hers as well hahaha! Fat-fat will do you like that when she’s connected to an all around beautiful, soul , spirit and woman ! Kat was exceptional from jump and I just knew she would be !! I just love her even more ! I hate that she kept such a big secret but the type of person I am in real life I 10000000% overstand why she did it and can’t even lie and pretend like I would’ve done things any differently because idk if I would’ve .. next book me PLEASEEEEE !! 10/10 highly recommend
I absolutely loved this one! The dialect alone had me smiling from start to finish—being a southern girl myself, it just felt like home. The way Mel Dau captured that southern rhythm in the dialogue made the story come alive in the best way.
The plot was fun, sexy, and flowed perfectly for a short read. It gave me exactly what I wanted—just enough spice, humor, and heart to keep me entertained without dragging things out. The pacing was quick, the chemistry was on point, and the writing had that easy, natural charm that makes you want to reread certain lines just for the voice of it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (For the southern flavor, the heat, and a story that delivered exactly what I needed in one sitting) “Southern drawl, spicy plot—Mel Dau understood the assignment.” 💅🔥
This one right here...I don't even know where to begin but who would've thought that a girls weekend would lead to so much! Kat's BFF set her up for the best weekend of her life and the cherry on top just happened to be a handsome, funny, slick talking pro football player that turned her every way but loose?!?! Then looked out majorly after the fun ended by going above and beyond. This man literally F.A.Ned then took care of her tuition...guurrllll. Mel Dau is one of my favs but me not snatching this book up immediately after it was released worked in my favor this time because the follow up was already released when I read it so I didn't have to beg and plead for the next part (although I was prepared to do so 🤗.
This is my first book by Mel but will not be my last. I appreciate the authenticity in keeping the Gullah Geechie language. Katniss and Asher were hot to trot! Daisy was a great friend to Katniss by getting her the hookup in more ways than one. I almost wonder if she is more connected than what is shared. I also appreciated that Mel included some real life lessons here, for example when she commented that Howard males are introduced to sex and "manhood." I also appreciated the fact that Mel included the pronunciation of the characters names. I loved Daisy's prayer and plan to incorporate it into my own life. Overall, this kept me engaged and it definitely has me looking forward to the next one.
What I like most about Mel's work is that even with her short novellas, she still makes sure to create a whole storyline. This was no exception, and even though there was a lot of naughtiness, that wasn't the only focus of the book. Now the way it was written, out of sequence and seemingly backtracking in some parts, confused me and felt like a waste of time because ultimately I didn't need two points of view of the same event, but it happened and such is life. Overall, I liked the story but hated that it ended in a cliffhanger. Thankfully, the follow-up is already out, so I am headed in that direction now.
Katniss was sweet and family oriented girl with an football obsession, and dreams to better herself. she got to meet her favorite football player Asher, soon as they seen each other there was a connection, they had a one night stand and months later without communication she has baby without him knowing. The story started off good and than I felt like it got lost somewhere, I was upset because of the ending I wanted to know more when he finally reached out to Katniss about her son. Like did they come to an agreement on how to co parent will Asher get to know her and they start to date. This story left a lot of unanswered questions.

Well duh 🙄, “He, Asher Kane was the one who initiated the unprotected sex. Technically, this was his doing.” “Technically”, an unnecessary superlative in this scenario because between calendarly & some simple mathematics baby A’s paternity is/was conclusive & irrefutably established 🤷🏾♀️🤭‼️However, “Naughty F.A.N.: Fuk All Night” was still comical, “girl’s just wanna have fun” banter, entertaining yet a predictable read. ….a classic ode for a Maury (that’s Maury Povich, tabloid infotainment TV show host of the early 1990’s) Moments production 🍿🤦🏾♀️🤭‼️Where’s the rest of Katniss & Asher’s story🧐⁉️
rating: ★ ★ ★ ½ asher kane wilson is a star linebacker with groupies at every corner, but it’s katniss — his number one fan who steals the show. when their worlds collide, one night of fun turns into way more than either expected. this was hilarious and nasty in the best way. i’m glad katniss got to experience that wild time with her favorite nfl player — really love that for her. what i didn’t love is that she didn’t tell him about the baby. asher would’ve made such a great dad, and honestly, they had the potential to grow into something more if she gave it the chance. and where is part two??!
This book was everything I love, delivered in a short, spicy package that hit every note just right.
Naughty F.A.N. is the first book in the Naughty November 24 series, with each story written by a different author. But what really made this one stand out is that Ms. Come Scootch In came back with a follow-up: So Special: Fanatic Love, which continues the story. I’ll be diving into that one as soon as I post this!
I’ve read 6 or 7 books from Mel Dua now, and every single one has been a hit. She’s quickly becoming one of my favorites. If you want a fast-paced romance packed with heat and a good storyline that leaves you wanting more, I 100% recommend this book.
