Rich Boys

Make the kill a loved one, or be killed. At 21-years-old, Autumn Wright has just returned home for the holiday break before her final semester of dance school in downtown Chicago. Growing up next door to the Van Ettens meant becoming like family to the rich and attractive brothers, Sam and Alex. Few things lure Autumn back home like the boys, Alex in particular. Leaving them behind is also one of her biggest hesitations while planning to move to New York after graduation for a career dancing on stage. Sam may act as the standoffish brother—six years her senior—quietly watching from the wings. But Alex, the fire of the family, is Autumn’s best friend, and on the verge of becoming something even more. Aware that a life-changing relocation is on the horizon, Autumn knows the time is now if things are going to happen with Alex, and she senses his reciprocal feelings. So when the Van Etten boys throw together a party at their house, Autumn allows the liquor to warm her lips and shed her inhibitions. Her reserve dissolves more than expected, and she finds herself flirting with both Alex and Sam—swirling in and out of conversations when the tipsy night turns into amnesia-like intoxication. The next day Autumn awakes to find herself on a posh private train line, barreling into the north; realizing she made a rash and inebriated decision of embarrassing proportions. Convinced by one of the brothers that the two of them are just on a little getaway to bond, Autumn attempts to enjoy the ride. But it soon becomes evident that she is not on the trip by choice. And at every attempt to escape she finds herself imprisoned by someone she trusted. When the brother takes her to the family vacation home in a remote area of Canada—a mansion of trap doors and secret passages that she visited as a child—her memories of the lodge are replaced with desperate attempts to flee, contact home, burn the place down, and finally, to kill her abductor. But none of these things are as painless as she hoped for, and getting out alive may end up costing her more than expected.

Free down load for my review, from storycartel.com.

The formatting's a mess, with the paragraphs broken a part, sub paragraph numbers in the middle of pages.

It starts out horribly slow, goes no where fast, just have been picking it up and putting it down. You need to be patient with this one.

Finally took 30% of the book before it finally takes off. A shame that she just didn't give a chapter, for the back ground to the story, and just jump right into the train ride from hell.

This will end up being one. Were in the end I'm happy, that I finished it and just didn't delete it from my Kindle.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a good story once you get past the beginning. It seemed hard to get through the first part of the book, but if you stick it out you will be rewarded. The other thing that makes this a 4 star book is that you never get fully attached to the main character, Autumn. But with those negatives the middle and end of the book make this a fulfilling read.

It is much more than a thriller about an abduction. It is also about what happened before and after. And it is also a love story. Beautiful written!
Thank you very much for sharing this, Heather Leigh Hunt!
