Rhylie is gorgeous, witty and has a way of making you feel comfortable. Problem is her best friend hates Rhylie and the rest of his oil company owning family.

I really wanted to love this book, especially knowing it’s the author’s debut. You can clearly tell she poured a lot of herself into it, and the core storyline had promise. As a first effort, there’s definitely potential here.

That said, I struggled with the execution. The writing felt overly wordy at times - there were long stretches where not much actually happened, and the book could have been at least 40% shorter without losing anything meaningful. The pacing suffered as a result, especially in the beginning, which was confusing. I couldn’t quite figure out what the setup was - were the friends excited that her client dinner could be a date or not? They knew who he was the whole time, but their intentions weren’t clear. It was like they were excited, but then pissed off about it.

I also didn’t connect with the main female character. She did eventually grow and pursue her dreams, which was nice, but I didn’t see a clear arc of emotional or personal development leading up to that moment, especially with how her dreams were funded. Also, the male lead felt inconsistent. I couldn’t tell if he was supposed to be a reformed playboy or something else entirely. His background as a teen was detailed, but who he was as an adult - especially in light of the media and his public image - felt underdeveloped.

The progression of the relationship also felt rushed and unbalanced. They went from an awkward first meeting to an incredible date, to rooming together, celebrating holidays away with her family, and THEN labeling their relationship - all before even sharing a first kiss. I fully respect the choice to delay the spice based on her personal morals, but the rapid emotional escalation without any physical connection felt off.

Despite my struggles with this book, I’m still interested in where the series goes next. I’m especially curious about Jade and Asher. Jade already seems like she’ll be a more relatable and grounded character, and Asher’s backstory leaves a lot of room for compelling development.

Overall, this wasn’t a favorite, but I see the potential in the writing and characters. I’m hopeful the next installment builds on that promise.

I was sucked into the book at first but then it started to drag a little bit. However, there is a ton of potential for this series as this is the authors debut. She isn’t a autobuy or autoread for me yet but I can see it.

I loved the main male character. He is definitely a man written by women coded. He is the epitome of what a book boyfriend should be. I do hate how he acts when the third act hits, but I understand where it goes from there.

The female main character bothered me so much. She misinterpreted and misunderstood things from him badly. It was like she was blind and I don’t love a female character like that.

I loved almost all of the tropes except for the big one that has a huge plot twist. That really bothered me in so many different ways but I also hated that the miscommunication trope was in this otherwise I loved all the other tropes.

Thank you to the author for the ARC opportunity, all thoughts are my own.

Uncharted Waters is a great start to the Bookery Series as the characters are likeable, and the story is set up for an interesting sequel with Rhylie's brother and Lennon's best friend Jade.

I felt all of the emotions while reading this. There were times when I was giggling, and then towards the end I actually cried! I don't shed tears too often but with this one, I definitely did at chapter 84. There are some potentially triggering themes around the aftermath of child loss, but it is done in a way that considered many character's opposing points of view on the subject. This gave you a chance to see why certain characters acted the way they did.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book! Solid 4 stars for myself, there were some grammatical errors through out which did take my rating down a little. I do think though that this will be fixed by now and I look forward to the sequel.

This book had me sucked in right from the start. Lennon living her life trying to pave her way to one day live her dream of owning a bookstore. Billionaire Rhylie walks in at her work and immediately there’s a spark between them. Next thing they’re navigating a relationship after closing a business deal. Rhylie couldn’t be a more loving and supportive man and Lennon feels like she’s living in a dream.
Lisa took us on an emotional roller coaster ride with this one! I loved these two together so much. Rhylie and Lennon were thrown some curve balls and seeing how they both worked through each obstacle was emotional but in the end they never lost their love for each other. Also a big fan of Rhode Island being mentioned in a book!

Uncharted Waters by Lisa Erin is an unforgettable journey of love, loss, and resilience. This book made me laugh, it made me cry, and at times, I found myself holding my breath, completely immersed in the story. Lisa Erin masterfully takes readers on an emotional roller coaster, weaving moments of joy and heartbreak with incredible depth and authenticity.

One of my favorite quotes—“I can’t go home…..The moment you walk through that door, you take my home and everything I love with it.”—perfectly captures the raw, soul-stirring emotion that defines this novel. Prepare for happy tears, sad tears, and a story that will stay with you long after the final page.

If you’re looking for a book that will make you feel in every sense of the word, Uncharted Waters is a must-read.

For Lisa Erin’s debut novel, I enjoyed this book! Overall it was a great representation of found family/friends and I love that!! And I feel incredibly lucky to have been given an ARC!!

There were aspects of this story, that I found I struggled to suspend my disbelief, including meeting the parents when they did during their relationship timeline, but overall I was routing for our couple and enjoyed their relationship!

I do feel this book was a little long, especially for a romance novel. Towards the end, it just felt a little wordy, but I enjoyed reading it, and I am excited to see what Lisa Erin does in the future!

I love the chemistry between the FMC and MMC, how they grow, love and navigate thier way together. While you'll feel so many feelings with the FMC, the MMC is everything a girl ever wanted and he's being real from the beginning. It's not always sunshine and rainbows. They've been cracked open, they face their fears, make mistakes, and fight for something real. Love can scare you as much as it saves you. At end of the day, they still choose to reach for each other. I feel every emotion. I'll definitely recommends it.

Thank you author for the ARC opportunity.

Uncharted Waters was a really good book at the beginning and I really loved the building of the characters. Lennon had a lot of growth & Rhylie was book boyfriend material. The book was great until it was just a repeat of how Rhylie reacted to some things over and over. The last few chapters also felt rushed on time jumping but overall, it was a good book.

I AM UNWELL.

This book really did a number on me, but in the best way possible.

It had everything I love in a book, the tension, the suspense, the tragedy, the triumph. Omg I’m obsessed.

The way Rhylie was DOWN BAD for Lennon since the very beginning. Ugh it got me so freaking good. Like we love a man obsessed, the trump everyone else, they’re elite.

Lennon, sweet little Lennon. She was so insecure, but like we all get that way as women (I will say once the “big secret” gets revealed, she becomes so incredibly insecure I almost couldn’t stand it)
I understand what she did and why she did it, but I don’t agree with it in the slightest, Rhylie was willing to fight tooth and nail for them.

I will say, CHECK ALL TRIGGER WARNINGS because this book was full of them and they even got to me, and none of that stuff affected me, but this did and it tore me apart. So much so I had to keep taking breaks, to heal.

But despite all of that I absolutely LOVED THIS BOOK. I was so beyond lucky to receive an ARC of this book, so it’s so incredibly special to me. The writing was beautiful, the chemistry between Rhylie and Lennon was beautiful. Watching them grow together and love together, then be destroyed together, Rhylie fighting so hard to get it back together, Lennon turning it down, but BAM THEY FINALLY FIND THEIR WAY BACK AND ITS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

The amount of tears I shed for this book
The amount of jumping up and down excitement I felt
The amount of kicking my feet giggling
The amount of “what a man” moments
The amount of happiness I felt for Lennon reaching her dream.

This book is so special, it ruined my entire life, but in the best way. It is definitely one of those books I will recommend to others and I can’t wait to see what else Lisa has for us with the following books in the series
