Beautiful and gruesome at the same time, "Vampirella Bites" is full of gratuitous cleavage and violence, but manages to pull off skilled parodies of four of the most popular vampire and horror franchises from the big and small screens. Highly recommended , but not for the faint of heart.

This volume delves into the darker corners of Vampirella's world, presenting a collection of tales that highlight her encounters with creatures as sinister and complex as herself. This anthology format allows different writers and artists to explore Vampirella's universe, offering varied interpretations and fresh takes on her endless battles against evil.

Each story within this volume stands out with its unique twist on horror and morality, providing insights into Vampirella's psyche and her relentless quest to maintain a balance between her vampiric nature and her heroic intentions. The narratives are tightly woven, with each one building on the mystique and allure of Vampirella as both a hunter and a creature of the night.

The artwork varies across the stories, ranging from lush, detailed renderings to more stark, impactful compositions. This diversity in artistic style keeps the visual experience engaging and enhances the distinct tone of each tale. The color schemes cleverly reflect the mood, from shadowy, muted tones for deeper, more introspective stories, to vibrant hues for action-packed encounters.

Character development is another strength of this collection. Despite the shorter format of each story, the writers manage to convey depth and growth in Vampirella's character, exploring her relationships, fears, and desires. These glimpses add layers to her character, making her more relatable and complex.

A excellent exploration of the iconic character through a mosaic of eerie and compelling stories. It's a must-read for fans and newcomers alike, offering a rich blend of horror, action, and introspection. This anthology is a testament to Vampirella's enduring appeal and her ability to adapt and thrive in the hands of various creative teams.

Four one shots spoofing other horror TV shows and movies. We have stories about Twilight, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Blood and Dexter. All slightly changed so Dynamite doesn't get into trouble and none of them done very well.
