New Year’s Bite is the third novella in The Bite Series by S.J. Tilly. This book is available both individually or as a part of the Baby Cakes box set which is how I’m reading it. These three novellas were my first by this author and I’m now completely obsessed. She gave a couple of hints at the end of upcoming projects that I’m so excited about. And also excited to look through her existing library! This was so fun, steamy and sweet. Chef Michael was so over the top jealous and possessive of Alice and I loved every second of it. If any of her other books have this same vibe, I’ll be all over it!
Alice and Michael are now ready for the New Year’s taping of Second Bite. But the usual co-host is ill so Alice is asked to step in to co-host by Michael’s side. As soon as they start the first day of taping, though, they realize that someone is playing games with them and they are faced with one surprise after another.
Michael is not happy about all of the recent developments because no one will make his Alice unhappy if he has anything to say about it. He has a private investigator on the job, getting to the bottom of all of these recent developments. But for now, he will stick by her side to make sure nothing gets to her. But he should have known that Alice would handle it all with beauty and grace.
This was such a great way to wrap up these two. I’ve enjoyed every single book and will be thinking about these two for awhile. I read all three books in a little over a day and loved every second of it.

The conflict in this book was stupid. The jealous ex gf trope was annoying and I saw the plot twist coming. This was low key boring and there was like barely any spice compared to the second book

Chef Michael and Alice are back in the New Year’s special of Second Bite. I loved Michael’s possessive side, and Alice’s kindness, even in less than ideal situations. The spice between the two was chef’s kiss.
The series finale wrapped up perfectly, and now I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming Cooking Class with the Alliance couples!

Love love love love. Literally love them. The dynamic in this book just solidified the relationship so well especially the little scenes on the show, and the way they comforted eachother. Especially love the epilogue. Michael and Alice are just too perfect will forever love insta love.

HEA: yes. And apparently Tilly is going to write another novella about the Aliiance men and their wives talking about cooking class. That shit is going to just be a fuck fest. 😂
Plot: Michael’s co-judge is sick and Alice is taking her place. The competition is chaotic and Michael is annoyed by changes not pass by him. His ex girlfriend is a contestant who is obviously still pining for him. He finds out his manager was secretly making these changes and was responsible for the leaked photos for ratings and to make more money.
Hot take: it was cute. Better than the first two but I think that’s because they finally know each other better and it doesn’t feel so weird? Spice was pretty good. I love Tilly’s writing style.

This book had no business being this fun, this chaotic, and this addictive. I picked it up thinking “quick read” and next thing I knew, I was fully invested and emotionally unavailable to real life.
S.J. Tilly delivers the perfect mix of humor and heat. The banter is sharp, the chemistry is instant, and the characters grab you by the throat and refuse to let go. It’s fast-paced, spicy, and ridiculously entertaining without trying too hard.
If you want a book that feels like staying up way too late on New Year’s Eve, making questionable choices, and loving every second of it, this is it. Zero regrets. Immediate book hangover. Already thinking about rereading it.
Highly recommend if you like your romance bold, spicy, and impossible to put down.

If you are looking for some hardcore insta love, a possessive celebrity chef with a big....whisk, a sweet FMC with stars in her eyes for aforementioned chef, snowed in fun times, unintentional exhibitionism, brief OW drama (but our MMC is a good boy), and just all the sweetness, then this is the book for you! I read all 3 of these novellas in a row, so my review is for all 3.

cute and sappy
K so I’ll be honest. I didn’t love the first book in this novella series, but I will say it grew on me.
I think I just needed to accept that it was over the top mushy and while that part of it isn’t my style, the story was very much on brand for Tilly.
Also, I loved the nod to our favourite Alliance family!

Love You Forever
Alice has been pulled in to judge Second Bite with Michael but both get a surprise when an ex of Michael’s from years ago is a contestant and still pining for him. But Alice being Alice is her friendly and gracious self and nothing can come between these two and their HEA in this sweet conclusion to this fun holiday read.

Book 3 in the Bite series
Michael and Alice face the same OW that was in the Second Bite novella. I enjoyed how this one wrapped up, though. New Year's is only reached in the Epilogue of this novella.
Overall, 3 stars for the series. SJ Tilly has grown so much as a writer. If these novellas were one slightly longer book, I know it would have shined.

Alice and Michael
Once again, I must stress that even though this book series is absurd, I could not read it quick enough. I loved it. I loved them and I love S J Tilly. She is one of my favourite authors (I’ve read every single one of her books) and can’t wait for more!

“New year’s bite” is the conclusion to Alice and Michael’s story.
I thought this was their HEA, but we got the sex scandal shoved under the rug and some unnecessary OW drama. Yes there was detailed epilogue but not what I wanted from this book.

I am so obsessed with Alice and Michael! They are literally so hot! Omg the way he treats her and literally cares for her?????? I’m swooning! I loved this little novella and actually was screaming over the little cameos!! I can’t wait to read more about this couple!

A Sweet bite
This is my first book in the Bite series. I definitely need to go back and read the first two. Alice and Michael have great chemistry and the drama had me excited to see who set things in motion. Can't wait for the next Bite book.
