Cyrus Beldon was born to kill vampires. Or so says his indomitable family legacy.
For generations, the Beldon hunters have kept the peace between humans and vampires, navigating tense diplomacy with the elite Honorable Families and eliminating threats when needed. Cyrus is content to leave the hunting and slaying to his capable older siblings, but when his oldest brother is murdered by Honorable vampires in a shocking break of the truce, Cyrus becomes determined to find out why his brother was not merely killed, but turned into a bloodthirsty creature known as a Wild vampire.
Cyrus’s hunt for information on the monster that became of his brother leads him to discover an experiment suggesting that recently-turned vampires can have their humanity restored, and with this revolutionary possibility within his reach, Cyrus dares to hope for a future in which he can save vampires instead of killing them. He traces the studies back to one of the five Honorable Families, and with the help of studious and infuriatingly proud Lucien Vista, Cyrus delves into vampire biology to seek the core cause of Wild turns—and a cure for them.
Amid multiple high-profile murders, rising tension between the Beldons and the Honorable Families, and dangerous sparks between Cyrus and Lucien, the truce is at a tipping point, and Cyrus and Lucien must decide how far they are willing to go to keep the peace between their families—or if it’s already too late.

Starting to feel like a hater and starting to wonder if I'm the problem.
I'm genuinely beyond disappointed that this turned out to be such an awful reading experience. I really wanted to love this book; the first 100 pages were captivating, brimming with potential, but then everything unraveled so quickly that I felt as though I was floating aimlessly, without a sense of grounding.
Initially, the plot intrigued me from the start, diving straight into an inventive concept around vampires that I hadn't encountered before. The author skillfully introduced the unique aspects of vampire lore, creating a compelling setup with hints of mystery and promise. However, by the time I reached the end, it was such a letdown that it felt like all the momentum had been completely wasted. The mystery that had been so artfully woven throughout the early chapters ultimately failed to live up to the rich expectations set in those first pages.
As for the characters, they were outright unlikable, which made the reading experience even more frustrating. I need to talk about Lucien first because I have a lot to unpack regarding Cyrus. Lucien, the love interest, was somewhat bearable, but he struggled to step out of the shadow of his partner's overwhelming negativity. After reading about their interactions, I couldn't see him in a positive light, especially since almost everything out of his mouth felt like a pointed humiliation directed at Cyrus. The author likely intended it to come off as playful banter, but there is a very thin line between teasing and humiliation. In this case, that line was crossed so frequently that I couldn't help but feel a rising sense of anger each time the two interacted.
Cyrus, the protagonist, was especially difficult to root for. In the beginning, he exhibited a desire to differentiate himself from his family’s dark legacy, wanting to forge his own path and do good. However, as the story progressed, it became painfully clear that beneath that surface lay a self-centered individual. He was selfish to an extreme; every situation had to revolve around him, and even when a tragic event unfolded involving Lucien's family due to Cyrus's own family's actions, he was more concerned about personal repercussions than genuinely reflecting on the consequences of his lineage. Throughout the narrative, we do not navigate Lucien's profound grief but we deal with Cyrus's constant dilemma over seeking his family's approval versus doing the right thing. Even after witnessing the damage his family caused, Cyrus still remained undecided, which left me incredulous that Lucien could even tolerate being around him. Moreover, I found it infuriating that there was virtually no character development for either of them. Lucien, too, fell into the trap of stagnation. Cyrus exemplified what I can only term "main character syndrome," embodying a frustratingly self-absorbed perspective.
Now, let's delve into the romance, which was perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the entire book. I felt no chemistry between Lucien and Cyrus; their interactions were flat, lacking the emotional resonance that would make their connection believable. It often seemed that they didn’t regard each other with any sense of respect. Once again, the fine line between teasing and humiliation plagued their exchanges. The progression of their relationship occurred at a slow burn, and while I could appreciate the attempt, I could not perceive any genuine love or bond between them. Even in the finale, their relationship left me feeling disheartened; it was hard to visualize these two together long-term, let alone in a committed relationship.
In conclusion, this book was a profound disappointment overall, but I do want to acknowledge the author’s dedication to worldbuilding. The intricately crafted universe, rich with detail and imagination, was a bright spot that showed potential—if only the characters and plot had matched that level of depth and cohesion.
"...It's all too tempting to embrace the negatives when the positives seem so fleeting."
this was a little gem of a find. I wholeheartedly loved it. Yes, this isn't the best book written, but I could sense it was written with a lot of love and care for the characters. I really like Cyrus, not wanting to be like the rest of his family and wanting something for himself. wanting to prove himself as well. And I understood his hesitations and doubt about doing the right thing even when it would be the right thing for him. The only thing I didn't really like about him was that something he really has to care a bit more for the other and not think about himself. Lucien, on the other hand, didn't have a fault to speak about, in my opinion. I really loved him, and even after so much devastation, he was such a caring character. I also love Leif and Adriyen, and wished they had been a little more in Cyrus life. Other than that, the story was really engaging. There was something happening all the time but not in an oppressing way. It was really fun to see them figure everything out. I just wished to have read more about it. Did they ever find the cure? What happened to Leif and Adriyen? Joel and Viktor even?
I picked up Silver Blood for the delightful queer vampire romance, but the worldbuilding is what hooked me. I really appreciated how the the precarious alliance between Lucien's and Cyrus's families evoked a sense of fragile desperation. The sense of looming tragedy made me even more invested in their relationship. These two have so much at stake when they decide to trust one another. That degree of vulnerability would not be possible without Morgan's carefully woven family histories.
Lucien and Cyrus grow into themselves before they grow together. Some of my favorite parts were actually their spats:
"Lucien, I’m sorry." "I know you are. That doesn’t mean I get to stop being angry."
Incredible.
There's no tired mutual misunderstanding trope here: these lovely men communicate, reflect, take responsibility, and do better next time. That's the good stuff.
I'm so so grateful to the author for the chance to read an ARC for free. I'm leaving this review of my own accord.
I'm so glad to have received an ARC of this book, you have no idea.
The short of it: it's a queer starcrossed lovers tale between a vampire and vampire hunter filled with unique lore, a fascinating mystery, vampiric politics, amusing banter, and very unabashed—and very gay—flirting.
Cyrus is the perfect disaster MC who can't help but stumble into more problems as he tries his hardest to unravel a mystery that had me absolutely intrigued to learn more of the world building.
And then there's Lucien, our Astarion-coded LI, who contrasted Cyrus beautifully. Morgan's many little details about him, and the rest of this book's collection of vampires, pulled on various pieces of lore seen in other vampire media and reworked them together in such a cool way.
So if you're into queer vampires, awkward hunters, family drama, and a twisting mystery to lace it all together, you've found it.
I love a story of someone forced into an ill-fitting role finding their own path. I love a protagonist torn between the comfort of the familiar and the scariness of the new, who has to reckon with the problematic actions of their family. So of course Silver Blood had me immediately hooked! I was instantly rooting for Cyrus, trained all his life to be a vampire hunter but unable to shake how wrong it feels. I loved following him as he decides what to do with that feeling, making choices that lead him farther and farther from his family's legacy and closer to who he wants to be.
And then there's Lucien, and the delicious slow-burn romance he and Cyrus develop. I love a begrudging-allies to lovers story, and Silver Blood 100% delivers. There's distrust and resentment at first, only their common goal making them stick together, but slowly that changes to trust and fondness as they come to both rely on and genuinely like each other.
It's a fast-paced read with escapades and action galore, but always with Cyrus's emotional arc and his growing relationship with Lucien at the heart. There were certain moments I would have loved to see developed further (). But when I got to the end I just wanted MORE of these two, and am very happy that the re-release of Sweet Sorrow will be waiting for me in a few days!
I received a digital ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review!
“Do you have to be such a supreme ass?” “Yes, it’s part of the family legacy.”
MM vampire/vampire hunter romance where the MCs give off Alucard Tepes and Trevor Belmont vibes? Sign me up!
I do feel like it took me quite a while to become invested in Silver Blood but that is because this book lays a lot of groundwork at the start. And let it be known that I do appreciate that. It is also an incredibly slow-burn which makes total sense with the main characters being a vampire hunter and a vampire. I love slow-burn and witty banter though so I didn’t mind that at all. I live for the tension!
The book had way more of a plot and world-building than I expected and it truly dived deep into all the society issues and also the family drama of the main characters. Silver Blood really went super deep into every problem and I’m kind of surprised by how much happened in 500 pages. Some parts did drag a bit for me, but mostly I just enjoyed the adventure.
I thought Cyrus was a good main character to follow. His family was absolute shit and I think he’s an easy MC to root for. He does however, also make you want to smack his head against a wall on multiple occasions. I liked seeing his dynamic with Lucien develop and I could absolutely see their chemistry.
There was one part of the storyline that I felt was left a bit unresolved so I’m wondering if there will be more, but I do think it wrapped up in a nice way.
A vampire romance that goes above and beyond, SILVER BLOOD wastes not even a moment captivating you to Cyrus’s tale as he faces the trials and tribulations of seeking belonging outside the cruel world that fate bore him into. Truly a marvelous experience both gorgeous and gruesome that will enamor you to the very last page.
Thank you to T.L. Morgan for having me as one of the ARC readers for this incredible book.
слов бьорн романс мав в собі непевний слов без бьорнінг чесно кажучи і романс був більш менш аж після 70% книжки, кінцівка була якась зжамкана, але сюжет все ще енджоінг і вампір кайнда лавбл
This book was absolutely amazing. It had been a while since I read a fantasy romance and this was right up my alley. It follows Cyrus of house Beldon, a hunter family, he was trained his whole life to kill vampires. His family has kept the peace between vampires and humans for generations. They deal with the the Honorable Families aka the big vampire houses. When Cyrus’s oldest brother not only gets killed but also turned into a wild vampire, he is determined to figure out how it happened. His hunt for information leads him to Lucien, heir to the Honorable Family Vista. They set up a truce to figure out the root of their problem. I really loved seeing the dynamic between Lucien and Cyrus. They are supposed to be mortal enemies, but the longer they spend together the more they realise they are not what their families told them. They are really a bunch of chaotic queers and it was fun to see them going on this story. I was really rooting for them. So if you’re looking for a queer vampire X hunter with a touch of mystery this book is really for you. Thanks to T.L. Morgan for this eARC exchange for an honest review.
I read an ARC Content warnings: familial abuse, dead parent (mother), death within family, vomiting, injury, fantasy prejudice and bigotry
Silver Blood is a gothic romance about the son of a famous vampire hunter on a mission to end the cycle of violence his family perpetrates. Alongside the heir to an elite vampire family, he seeks a way to save vampires from turning monstrous.
I found this to be really well-paced and fun to read as Cyrus Beldon digs deep into his own family secrets to discover a conspiracy rooted in alchemy and vampiric biology. The twists made me gasp, and the chemistry between Cyrus and elite vampire Lucien really worked for me. It has several tropes I enjoy, like a charmingly off-putting mystic and a discarded son finding his own path.
A vampire read for when you want to experience something new but familiar, and don't feel like rewatching Netflix's Castlevania again.

4.5 rounded up! Everything I love about vampires while feeling fresh and new at the same time. Loved the romance.
Sensitive portrayal of a man with a difficult youth and a difficult (to put it mildly) family while still imbuing the protagonist with a strong sense of agency. The love interest/main supporting character is the perfect vampire in many ways, and Morgan makes him feel ancient without saying so all the time. His speech patterns, his emotions, the way he reacts to things, all of them evidence a long time lived on this Earth and he was a joy to read.
They did fall in love relatively quickly but it didn't feel like insta-love to me; there was a real sense of shared interests, appreciation for each other's personalities, and physical attraction to round it out. Mostly though, Morgan gave me every vampire trope I love wrapped up into something new and I will read every book in the series.

Not me finally getting back into vampire books! Especially ones leaning into such autumny Gothic vibes <3 I admit the gorgeous cover first drew me in (Jan Falk 5ever), but the drama between Cyrus’s and Lucien’s families (and the drama WITHIN Cyrus’s family!) kept me reading on. I loved watching Cyrus and Lucien slowly grow closer, and appreciated that even after they got together, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows - they did have disagreements and arguments, which is so much more believable after generations of strife between their families.
Cyrus did tend towards frustratingly negative at times, but THAT BEING SAID, it still felt believable and in no way took away from the reading experience. He’s the youngest of his siblings and is considered the family disappointment - how can he have that upbringing and remain happy-go-lucky? He is my precious lemon cupcake, sweet and sour and still lovable <3
I received an ARC of this book, and I'm so glad I did. This book has gothic vibes, an intriguing mystery, murders, and, of course, vampire romance! Morgan creates vampire lore which feels fresh but also classic at the same time, using conventions from modern vampires in an interesting way. I found myself eager to learn more.
But, alright, let's get to the real reason I was stoked to read this book. Queer vamp romance! One of my favorite things is when an author manages to create forbidden romance which is not forbidden because the characters are queer. And Morgan certainly delivered! The romance between a human from a vampire hunter family, and a vampire from an ancient vampire family. Sign me up, yes please! It takes a few chapters before they meet each other, but it was worth the wait and the set up!
I had a lovely time reading this book! 5 stars from me.
2.5 stars rounding down It is also my first review so please bear with me.
I am currently on 85% and i have to force myself to finish it. The main character, Cyrus, was unlikeable from the beginning. For being abused and tortured by his family he was quite snarky and didn't really feel traumatized. The LI, Lucien, was fine. Just fine. I originally got it because of the raving reviews and because it was tagged as enemies to lovers, but they were never really enemies. On the second day of knowing each other they were already bantering like good friends. There was never real hate.
The plot is intruiging but at some point i stopped caring. It felt like reading a YA novel but i don't think it was tagged as such, might have just overlooked. I don't really know what the world looks like because it wasn't really described.
It's probably a book for some people but not for me.
I'm a sucker for vampires. I'm a sucker for characters finding their own path despite what legacy their blood demands of them. Put them together and I'm sold. I'd give this 10 stars if I could.
Cyrus and Lucien were stunning characters on their own, both wishing to be more than what they've been told they are. They were also a delight to watch fall in love and their beginning teasing was adorable - I was on the edge of my seat constantly waiting for them to finally kiss.
Do yourself a favor and just read this damn book already, spirits knows you won't regret it.
Silver Blood was my first of Talli's writing, but certainly not my last. I'm so excited to read their past works, and certainly their future new ones.
I can’t leave a proper review because I broke my wrist on my dominant hand and can’t really type. But I have to say how much I loved this book. It drew me in me from the beginning. I especially loved the length, because I felt like we actually had a chance to get deep into the story, to watch the relationship grow, and to flesh out the plot. There are some things I would change or maybe want more out of— what happens to Leif and Adriyen now, could we get some more world building with the main families, and the relationship with Poppy left me wanting more. But overall, I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.
I was lucky enough to receive an e-ARC of this in a giveaway!
A truly interesting tale that kept me on my toes the entire time. I greatly enjoyed the lore, as well as Cyrus and Lucien and their growing relationship. I'm a vampire enthusiast who is very picky with my vampire books, and I'm happy to say this one hit the mark! Also, the last lines definitely served as inspiration when I needed it.
I say this without the slightest hint of exaggeration, this is one of the best books I've ever read.
It's brilliantly written, I could not put it down and god it starts of tense and just builds and builds and builds
I've never had a book give me a full body hot flush before, but the dance scene managed it. (I was burning up for like 30 minutes and had to lie down 😅)
I'm new to slow burn romance and I'm so glad this was my introduction to it...
I had the great pleasure of beta-reading this, and I think it might be my favourite book of Morgan's yet. It's got such a classic gothic vampire tale feel to it. So if gothic literature, vampires and a good ol' queer romance are up your alley, be sure to keep your eye out for Silver Blood next year!
Loved it , the two MCs were the most understanding characters I have ever read about. Can't wait to start the second book about them. I feel like the best part was towards the end. There was no particular plot twist , but it was really refreshing , very different by the all-powerfull Main characters, able to always have it their own way. Also loved how the author gave them real personalities.
I devoured this book. And now I have this empty feeling where I loved the book so much that £ fear I might never read a book like it again.
Despite some gruesome scenes and the terrible setting the characters find themselves in, this story was so comforting to me - thanks to the dynamics between the two main characters.
I just finished and already wish I could read it for the first time again
Regency era gay vampire and vampire hinter romance that was a true slow burn. The main characters Cyrus and Lucien were complex and flushed out with flaws and emotional hurdles to overcome. Which gave a very realistic story with ebbs and flows between them. The ending feels more open ended, which I enjoyed but might not be to everyone prefrence.
A tantalisingly slow burn vampire romance! Lots of action, lots of intrigue, and just a little bit of spice combine to make Silver Blood a page turner. I was lucky enough to read an advance copy of this book provided by the author.
Silver Blood was an absolutely fantastic read. I adored the slow build up of romance between Lucien and Cyrus as well as the overall plot. 10/10 read, I'm always a sucker for a silver haired vamp
