Destined Love #3

Keeping You

Rate this book
Hannah:

I learned two years ago to never date a coworker or a playboy.

Waking up married to Dr. Grayson Maxwell was not how I thought this work trip in Vegas would end. I want an annulment, but he surprises me with a request: ninety days to show me we can make this marriage work.
With planned dates, thoughtful gestures, and beautiful words, he starts to chip away at my resolve. I’m not sure how long I can resist.
Or if I even want to.

Grayson:

I was eighteen when I decided love and relationships weren’t for me.

Seeing my ring on Hannah Smith’s finger has me questioning if I was wrong.
Just being coworkers with the woman I’ve never been able to ignore is no longer enough. I decide to fight for her. To convince her, and myself, that I am worthy of the smart, fiery, beautiful woman I’ve wanted for years.
Will ninety days together result in the start of something new? Or will my past come back to haunt me and tear us apart, destroying the life we’ve started to build?

he let her think he cheated on her because a nurse cornered and kissed him and he saw the h run away after he pushed the ow off him but then thought that he couldn’t give her what she wanted and didn’t deserve her anyway so he just never corrected her….. all because *SPOILER* his high school sweet heart had a miscarriage when they were 19 and then she tried to kill herself so he felt like he failed her and would never get married or have kids with anyone. they were planning their whole lives aka buying a little house, getting married, building their family and then he lost it all. the ow is a pretty big part of the story because she’s close with his family so he has avoided going home because she’s married and has a son now and he will never have that and he knew that he would fall so in love with her and just fail her like he failed the ow. so he let her hate him for TWO YEARS. and when he told her his story she was basically like “you let me hate you for my own good how sweet” 😑😑😑

this kind of reminded me of Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover 😅🫣😖

he WAS celibate though even since before he took the h on their first date and he was ready to give up all other women and settle down for the first time since his high school sweetheart…but that didn’t even save this for me because he ruined it by letting her think he cheated. he does get some points for recognizing that he needs therapy for the trauma and going through with it.

the writing also wasn’t my favorite and felt like EVERY SINGLE DETAIL was explained. it was a lot of “she walked over to this and did this. and then she did this. and then this.” i just couldn’t get into it.

and then the last chapter from one of the friend’s pov is him saying that he is happy his friends are settling down but he knows that he can text this ow and she will meet him at his place and of course the obvious h and him have been getting closer as friends and she’s being set up on a date and he’s jealous so NOW he’s seriously thinking about settling down…..yeah no hard pass for me.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC version of Keeping You by Alex Taylor and I am so glad I got the opportunity to read this. My first Accidental Marriage trope and I loved it! The characters were well written, well developed, and very likeable. I could not put it down! I haven’t read the other books in the series, but they are definitely on my TBR now!

4.5 stars!

I just read my first book from @authoralextaylor and it definitely won’t be my last! KEEPING YOU is out now!! It’s the third book in her Destined Love series!

Who doesn’t love a perfectly timed “my wife” moment?! This book has the perfect one that reveals to their friend group exactly what happened during their work trip to Vegas

Grayson and Hannah have a complicated history that ends with her essentially hating him for the next two years since the “incident.” However, when they both wake up married in Vegas, Grayson decides to use this to his advantage and try to win over his wife and convince her he isn’t the guy she thinks he is. Will Hannah stay strong in her resolve to not be swayed into falling for her husband, or will he get through to her one coffee delivery at a time?

I love Grayson and Hannah together! They have to learn some tough life lessons but ultimately come out stronger by the end of the book. They learn to be open with each other- especially Hannah who despite her outward feisty appearance, is a big softie with a big heart (that has been worn down one too many times). Grayson is her biggest supporter (especially in regard to Hannah’s awful mother).

My favourite thing about this book? The found family aspect! Nothing within their friends group and with Grayson’s family. Their fiends a group is seriously the best! I also want to move to Grayson’s family farm immediately 😍

Again, if you love a “my wife” moment- read this book! The spicy scenes are 🔥🔥🔥🥵🥵🥵 seriously- Grayson has a dirty mouth on him! But also, Hannah has the perfect “my husband” moment while putting their coworker in her place 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Highly recommend Reading this one. Read now on KU, or from Amazon! Also, you don’t have to read the books in order- I haven’t read the first two books yet and I wasn’t confused at all. But I’m so excited to go back and read Always Been You and Saving You!!) also so excited for Matt’s book next!

"When I met Hannah, she sucked me in. I enjoyed talking to her, bantering. I hadn’t done that in a long time. Then after our first date, she let me kiss her.
The second our lips touched, she became my anchor."

"...That feeling of wanting to be close to them, wanting to reach out and touch them, to spend your every waking hour with them. I feel that with Hannah. She may not know it, but I’m obsessed with her. If she told me to drop to my knees and crawl to her, I would. I would do whatever she asked me to."

This is my first book by Alex Taylor and I can’t wait to read more books by her. Keeping you is the third book in the Desined Love series and I read this as a standalone. I can’t wait to read the first two books in this series. Hannah and Grayson have a past and their history is complicated because of a misunderstanding that occurred two years ago. They go on a work trip to Vegas and wake up married. Hannah’s mother really got on my nerves. Hannah appears to be strong but underneath is just a person who is afraid to be hurt again.i loved the found family aspect of this book and the character development. I also loved the tropes in the book. Thank you Alex Taylor and Luna Literary for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was sent to me as an ARC by Sunny Babe PR.

The first book I’ve read of Alex Taylor’s and it won’t be the last. Gotta love an accidental marriage, forced proximity and co-workers tropes. Loved the character development and how the storyline tracked, nothing felt forced or rushed. It was beautifully told and I fell in love with both Grayson and Hannah! I need to find me a Grayson! 😍

This is my first ARC and book by Alex Taylor, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I'm definitely planning to read the rest of the series.

Hannah and Grayson have been to a conference and after a few drinks are married! Hannah can barely tolerate Grayson and wants out immediately. But Grayson who clearly still has strong feelings for Hannah, convinces her to stay married for 90 days to see how they go.

He’s genuinely remorseful for failing of their past relationship, and his efforts to get Hannah to see beyond the misunderstanding show his commitment.

Their chemistry is undeniable—both the tension and the sweetness of their interactions provide plenty of satisfying moments.

I adored Grayson’s "Golden Retriever" personality and Hannah’s "Black Cat" traits; they had to overcome quite a few challenges together.

Hannah's friend group was also a highlight for me and the small-town atmosphere that came through when Hannah visited Grayson’s family added such charm. Both Hannah and Grayson experienced significant growth, which made them even more relatable and inspiring as characters.

ARC - 5 ⭐️ 3,5 🔥

🩺 Workplace romance
💍 Accidental marriage
🩺 Black cat fmc
💍 Hate to love
🩺 He falls first and hard
💍 My wife

This was my first ARC, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity—I couldn’t believe my eyes when I got the email!

Alex did it again—what can I say? She has a way of writing that pulls you deep into the characters’ emotions, making you feel like you're reading a friend’s story. The found family trope? Chef’s kiss. She keeps you completely immersed, and you’re always left wanting more. I love interconnected series where we get to watch each character evolve, and this one did not disappoint. I’ve read the other books in the series and I’m already excited for the next one. My lord, this book broke me. I adored the small-town setting—I didn’t want to go back to the city myself!

Hannah and Grayson? I love them together. They support each other, respect each other’s boundaries, and help one another through personal challenges—Hannah with her parents, Grayson with his past. They grew together through the highs and lows. The perfect blend of banter, deep emotions, spice, dirty talk, and pure chemistry.

I absolutely LOVE Hannah and her black cat energy—even if she’s a total softie with the people she loves. Her plan to “how to lose a guy in 10 days” was so perfectly her. She kept fighting until he broke down her walls—and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy!

And Grayson?! Ugh, I love him too. Who would’ve thought the cocky doctor in scrubs was actually a small-town guy who wears cowboy boots?! I still have a soft spot for Caleb, but Grayson is right behind him. He’s so sweet and devoted to Hannah—he literally worships the ground she walks on. And when he defends “his wife” in front of Samantha?! I’d let that man do anything to me, ahaha.

On the downside, there was a bit of miscommunication—which I usually don’t enjoy—but in this case, it worked with the story. What did throw me off a bit was the “90-days rule.” I know it's a common micro-trope, but it came up so often that it started to feel like an “easy way out” for Hannah in a lot of situations. I get that it was intentional, but it felt a bit repetitive for me.

Still, everything else was absolutely perfect.

Every single book by Alex is one I’ve absolutely loved, and I can’t wait for more. Thank you, girl, for such a fantastic series—it’s easily one of my all-time favorites 💚

ARC review!💚✨
This is the first book I’ve read by Alex Taylor and it certainly won’t be the last! Keeping You is the third instalment in the Destined Love series but it can be read as a standalone like I did but I will definitely be reading the first two soon.
This is my first accidental marriage read and I will be honest in saying that I have avoided them in the past and it was never a trope I thought I would enjoyed but this book has completely changed my opinion as I loved it.
Hannah is a nurse and Grayson is a doctor and they work in the same hospital and wake up married to each other after a work trip to Las Vegas. Hannah immediately wants an annulment but Grayson persuades her to wait 90 days in hopes he can convince her the marriage wasn’t a mistake. This decision wasn’t easy for Hannah due to their complicated past, when an incident occurred two years ago which shattered the trust and friendship completely.
Grayson proves he isn’t all that bad as others may think of him. He cares deeply for Hannah and shows this by taking care of her, defending her and paying his full attention to her.
Seeing both Hannah and Grayson grow and heal from their traumas and come closer to one another was beautiful to see.

Summary🏩🩺💍:
“My wife” Hannah Smith was sent to Las Vegas for a work conference, but she never expected to wake up the next morning after a wild night to find herself married to Dr. Grayson Maxwell, the charming coworker and playboy who had hurt her two years ago after a date. Wanting an annulment, she’s taken by surprise when Grayson proposes a deal: give him ninety days to try and make their marriage work, including going on dates and living together. If it doesn’t work after that, he’ll sign the papers with no hesitation. Will these ninety days lead to something new, or will Grayson’s past return to haunt him, threatening to unravel the life they’ve started to build? Read to find out!

This is my very first time reading Alex, and I’m absolutely blown away! Her writing is phenomenal—so captivating, smooth, and engaging from the very first page. The characters are brilliantly crafted, full of depth, charm, and personality, making them incredibly easy to connect with and root for. The plot was absolutely brilliant—who doesn’t love the Vegas accidental marriage trope? It added the perfect dash of intrigue, romance, and fun to the story. I’m already adding the other books in the series to my TBR because I can’t get enough of Alex’s storytelling! This is definitely not going to be my last read from her, and I’m eagerly counting down to the next story in Matt’s journey. Alex is truly an incredible author, and I can’t wait to see what she brings to the table next!

I’m only 2% in and I’m already giggling! The start didn’t bore me at all—it’s straight to the point, which I love! The first part of the book was super easy to get through.

I’m already obsessed with Grayson! He’s such a softie when it comes to Hannah, and it just melts my heart 🥺

There’s a miscommunication between them, but it adds up to the story, so I wasn’t annoyed by it.

And I totally saw it coming! I knew THAT was the reason Grayson looked so conflicted and was avoiding going back to Willow Valley. It was seriously heartbreaking 💔

Both Hannah and Grayson are dealing with their own stuff, but it’s so sweet how they take care of each other. The only thing that frustrated me a little was how sometimes they didn’t talk through their issues with one another.

This was my first time reading Alex Taylor’s book. I’m drawn and will probably read the other book in the series. You might wanna check it out too!

4.5 stars rounded up!

Hannah and Grayson wake up married after a work conference in Vegas and she immediately wants an annulment. Grayson asks her to give the marriage 90 days to see if they can make it work. Hannah is hesitant because they went out a few times two years ago and it didn't end well. She agrees, moves in with him, and makes it her mission to prove why they shouldn't be together. She plans to "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" him, but he just keeps being sweet and devoted, breaking down her barriers.

There were so many things about this book I loved: accidental marriage, dual POV, he falls first, lots and lots of spice, great supporting characters, past trauma (for both MCs) that causes character growth. It was well-written and I was hooked from the start. I seriously couldn't put it down!

I hadn't read the previous two books in the series, so it was a little hard to keep track of all the supporting characters, but that's on me for starting with the third book in the series. I am 100% going back to read the first two before the fourth comes out!

The reason I knocked off a half star was the sexual degradation. To be fair, Alex Taylor warns us about trigger warnings before the book starts. Since that's not a trigger for me, I read on. I can handle a little bit, but there was just too much, in my opinion.

There’s just something about Alex Taylor’s writing and storytelling that sucks me right in and doesn’t let me go. I discovered her through Saving You earlier this year and was so excited to read Keeping You — and boy, did this one DELIVER. Note: This is an interconnected stand alone — you don’t need to read previous books to fully immerse in this one (though I can’t recommend the series enough)!

💚Accidental marriage
💚Frenemies to lovers
💚Second chance romance
💚Forced proximity/one bed
💚Found family
💚Emotional
💚Spicy!

Hannah and Grayson — coworkers and frenemies — wake up married after a drunken night in Vegas, post-work conference. She immediately wants an annulment. Grayson asks her to give the marriage 90 days to see if they can make it work. And our story begins…

From the plot and pacing to the emotion and spice, I feel like Alex nailed this story. What could have been a lighthearted read turned out to be so much more — in the best way.

Grayson and Hannah’s struggles with their respective trauma (which played a huge role in their story) was incredibly heart-wrenching and emotional. At the same time, it was so heartwarming to see how they were able to figure out what they each wanted from their relationship (if anything) as they worked through their personal battles.

On top of that, there’s humor (she “how to lose a guy in 10 days’ him!), banter, amazing found family dynamics, swoony attraction, sizzling heat and a crazy good storyline that will keep you turning the page.

This is such a well-written, compelling story — I just loved it and can’t wait for what’s next.

Thanks to Alex for this arc!

“My wife” YES

Absolutely loved how the book started with a bang.

I loved how Grayson loved Hannah. They had such a messy and complicated history and def an enemies to lovers kind of relationship due the “incident”. But then they get married and Grayson uses the opportunity to show her who he really is. They both fall for each other slowly but so sweetly.

The character arc was amazing and I loved their growth not only as individuals but also as a couple. They stick up for each other and care so much.

The found family was amazing and I loved how they all interacted together. Honestly one of the best tropes because what do you mean you can find yourself a group of people who will love you for you?? Had me sobbing 😭

The spice was immaculate.

Overall I loved this book so much and NEED more from Alex Taylor (and luckily there's already 2 other books in this series 🤭 with more to come 😏)

4/5 ⭐️ I’ve read this as an ARC through NetGalley.

Hannah and Grayson wake up in Vegas and are married to each other. They can’t stand each other (or can they?), and Hannah wants to sign the divorce papers straight away. But Grayson convinces her to try this marriage for 90 days.
They work together, they move in together. And Hannah is trying her best to show Grayson that this marriage won’t work.
Besides their marriage there are multiple interesting side storylines. About their past, their families etc.

I enjoyed this book a lot! It was fun, easy to read. I loved that he fell first and how obsessed he is by her.
There is character development. Some miscommunication, which I don’t always like but it was fitting in this story. I love how much respect they have for each other.
AND THE SPICE! We can’t forget about that. It was very good, not cringy at all. With A LOT of dirty talk. 🌶️🌶️

This is an interconnected stand alone. This was the first book I’ve read from the series and everything was clear for me. I will read the other books as well though. I got super excited.

I was really excited for this book because I adored the first two in the series but unfortunately I didn’t feel connected to the characters as much as the others especially Hannah.

From the early stages of middle to the end I started to love Grayson but to be honest Hannah was annoying in some parts of this book. I understand why she was acting the way she was due to her up bringing but I was thinking to myself ‘how blind can you be’ because Grayson was trying so hard to show Hannah that he was a caring guy and not a player she thought he was.

I felt like I was skim reading most of the chapters to hurry up and finish. I personally don’t like slow burn romances and this was just a bit too slow for me.

Love the family and friends scenes as always. I’m still jealous of their friendship group!!

I still love the book and characters I just didn’t feel connected and involved like the book 1 and 2.

Can’t wait for Matt and Zoey’s book!

If accidental marriage with a side of swoon-worthy doctor vibes is your thing, Keeping You is a must-read. When coworkers Hannah and Dr. Grayson Maxwell wake up married after a Vegas work trip, Grayson proposes they give it 90 days to see if they’re meant to be. Cue thoughtful dates, Grayson’s “He Falls First” charm, and a ton of banter as Hannah tries (and fails) to keep her walls up. This book is packed with tropes like Accidental Marriage, Forced Proximity, Hate to Love, and the perfect Black Cat x Golden Retriever energy. It’s funny, tender, and ridiculously sweet—rom-com gold! Definitely a solid 4.5 stars!

This was my first Alex Taylor book and to say I’m hooked is an understatement. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

How does one accidentally get married? Well you go to Vegas and have a little too much to drink. These frenemies and coworkers are in for a good time.

Grayson and Hannah will take you on a rollercoaster ride. They will mess with your emotions and take you on some highs and lows. However this is what makes the book so good.

It reminds me so much of How to lose a guy in 10 days, but it has its own spin and style thanks to Alex Taylor.

ARC review

I loved this book.
The way Grayson was totally in love with Hannah since the beggining, God. He wanted a chance with her to show her how perfect they could be together. He was all in. He just wanted her to be happy and at the end her happiness wasn't him, he was willing to let her go, no matter how much it would break his heart to do it.
Hannah didn't want to be married to him but as the days passed, she saw how diferent he was from how she thought. He was so much more but she was afraid to have her heart broken.
They were just so good together, it warmed my heart to see them navigating their marriage and getting closer and more in love with the other

Thank you NetGalley, Alex Taylor Literary and Alex Taylor for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in a series but my first I’ve read. I wish I would have read the others first but wanted to get the review done before the book releases, I plan the go back and read the other 2 before the 4th comes out.

The book was dual POV between Hannah and Grayson.

I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. This was fluffy feel good (in the best way) but with some serious topics sprinkled in.

I love a MMC who falls hard but isn’t cheesy. Grayson is the perfect example of this, he kept paying attention and remembered things but wasn’t obnoxious about it. That’s how he was so easily able to show Hannah how he cared for her - because he had been paying attention and really saw her.

Some of my favorite FMC have a bit of family drama that causes them to second guess relationships/love/marriage and Hannah is no exception to this. Living through her parents divorce and her mom’s constant trading up has left her hesitant to trust. Love seeing Hannah stand up for herself with just a little support from Grayson.

Open door.
Accidental marriage.
Enemy-ish to lover.
Second chance love.
Forced proximity.
Only one bed.
Found family.
Complicated family dynamics.
Previous trauma.

E - ARC Review

Ok so this was my first arc read and to be honest going into this book I knew nothing about it or Alex Taylor at all so I just dove right in, and it blew me away. What trope does this book not have?? There was a great mix of spice and fluff nothing was overdone, there was depth but it was still a light story and I really enjoyed that balance. I thought the writing was amazing and at no point did I get bored or feel that anything was rushed -which is something that I often struggle with- I now NEED to go back and read the first two books in this series and I already can not wait for the next one to come out! I highly recommend everyone go and read this book right now!! 🌶️💗🩺

I read this book as an ARC reader. So I would like to rate this book based on the potential that I saw in it.

I will start by saying that this book does have some flaws and at times I felt like the story was being rushed. I felt like I was going from point A to point B but was missing things in between. This, I believe, is what made it hard for me to connect with the characters on an emotional level. Which is what I look for in a book.
Aside from this, I felt like our main characters were trying to fit a certain mold. The mold that usually romance books have for their main characters. And don’t get me wrong, I love romance books and I don’t care if all the characters in every romance book are similar. I just needed more from these characters for me to be able to see them as real people and not just names on a page.

Okay, now that I have said all of that. I did enjoy the book. I see the potential that it has. And even thought I felt like developments were missing, it has the skeleton/outline/requirements/points for it to be a REALLY good book. If you can ignore some of the issues that I mentioned you can see that the characters do develop throughout the book. I liked the dedication that the MMC had towards the FMC and the devotion. I loved the small town feeling and I think this was done quite well.
The story as a whole is a good story. And I am trying to leave a good review without giving any spoilers. But you will read at the beginning that this is about two people getting married while drunk in Vegas which was funny at the beginning and then became quite interesting while seeing the characters try to figure out what to do. I love the fact that the author tired to give the characters some family/relationship trauma/experience in order to try to have the reader understand the meaning behind this current relationship (but I do think this needs to be developed a bit better). The setting, and plot was there, I think this is what saved this book for me. And of course the romance. I just at times wanted their emotional relationship to be slower, and more descriptive than rushing through getting the information out.

Overall I give this book a 4/5 because I do believe it has a LOT of potential for this to be a great book. Even just by giving our FMC more time to grow outside of the relationship would make this a great book.
I would recommend this book if you are looking for a quick, easy read. With a small town feeling. Without overly complicated plot and straightforward relationships.

This was my first book by Alex Taylor and I had the privilege of reading it before it releases on November 14, 2024!

Keeping You was adorable, relatable and very very spicy. Hannah is a nurse and Grayson is a doctor for the same hospital. They have the same friend group. They dated years prior, but it ended due to miscommunication. Now years later they end up married… on accident. This book will suck you right in. Add it to your wishlists!

4.5⭐️ ARC REVIEW

This was my first book by Alex Taylor and my first medical romance and let me tell you, it will not be my last for either!! I NEED to read Alex’s books in this series because THIS BOOK WAS WOW.

This story was first off, very well written, it was easy to read and had a beautiful flow. I loved the development and character growth in Grayson and Hannah, and the beauty of their love story ❤️ There were a lot of emotional moments and certain themes discussed and I think Alex did a beautiful job in the way she wrote it! The acts of service, the work they put into their relationship, the selflessness from both Grayson and Hannah, AND of course the spice were soooooo good! 😍 I can not wait to read the other books in the series and the next one coming in March 2025!

ARC Read
This was my first book by Alex Taylor and I'm so excited to have been chosen to Arc read Keeping You. I was unsure how I would like this book because several of the tropes are not ones I would normally choose, but I'm so glad that I read outside of my norm because I wound up enjoying this book so much. The writing was so well done, that I didn't find myself wanting to put this book down, in fact, I read about 90% of it in one sitting. Graham and Hannah wake up to find themselves married after a drunken night in Vegas, and the story that follows is one of humor, great chemistry and romance, character growth, acceptance, and family. I will be reading more books by this author and checking out more of this standalone series.

Tropes:
🩺 Accidental Marriage
🎰 Workplace (Doctor x Nurse)
🩺 Hate to Love
🎰 Black Cat x Golden Retriever
🩺 Forced Proximity
🎰 Found Family
🩺 "My Wife"
🎰 He Falls First + Harder

🌶️🌶️

ARC Review - thank you Chloe - Sunny Babe PR and Alex Taylor for giving me the chance to read this early!

Hannah & Grayson end up getting married after a drunken night out in Vegas, at a work conference together. Worst part? Hannah HATES him. Grayson lets her think the worst of him because it’s easier that way for him. He convinces her to at least give him 90 days to give this drunken marriage a shot. Will they make it or will they get the marriage annulled?!

I really adored this book. The writing was well written, starts of slow first but really picks up towards the middle and especially towards the end 🌶️🔥. This is the first I’ve read of Alex Taylor’s but I’m excited to read the others in the series after meeting Hannah’s friends in this book! This definitely can be read as a standalone but is part of a series!

For Cassy: I don't think you'll want to.

Ok. So I sat on my thoughts about this book for a day, to let them simmer, and I am frustrated while also very much enraptured. Before you read on, please know that I may spoil the story, sorry. Also, I really liked the concept of the love story. There are so many heartfelt moments, swoony intentions, and spicy scenes that are done so well. This author is still new - she is still working on her style & technique, finding her voice. I'm so proud of any author who puts themselves out there. With that being said, one can only improve with the feedback from the masses. I am a part of the said masses, so let's get into it.

First, I was sucked into & stayed up super late into the early morning until I read like the first 35% . I was super hooked. I got a little lost and frustrated but .... ok.

The drunken vegas wedding trope is always so much fun, especially when there is an underlying level of animosity or a prior heartbreak, which this story is alluded to include. The underlying heartbreak was a bit weak, and the associated animosity was truly a fabric of Hannah's imagination. But . . . . You truly don't know how weak or fabricated it is until around the halfway point, at which - now I'm invested.

The 90-day thing was a great way to move the plot along & bring in forced prox - but there was no actual justification. No legit reasoning. It was kind of thrown out there.
Which brings me to a character flaw in Hannah because she is supposed to be fiercely independent and such a "Spitfire," but she sure as shit laid flat in front of the entryway and stamped "Walk all over me" onto her backside. Sure. 90 days married for some unknown reason? Why the heck not.
Even though we were told that she just didn't want to fight with him because he could draw it out. Her parents had a nasty divorce & he didn't want to go through that, so like I kind of understood her reasoning, but she also didn't make Grey justify himself.

Her attempts to "How to lose a guy in 10 days" were lame. She moved in. Like he asked. She made herself comfortable. Ok. That wS not a negative to him in any way. I think the only thing that may have truly frustrated him were the cabinets & dishes, but there was SO MUCH potential here.
Also, it was VERY short-lived. I was excited at this prospect but also very let down now that I think back on it. She flopped over & gave in easily.

Grayson's past trauma was heartbreaking. I don't understand how he could think he failed his past girlfriend when he showed up for her. There is not much one CAN do in a situation like this. Being a physician, he should have learned this coming into adulthood. So, his reasoning for allowing Hannah to think negatively about him was very immature & misguided. It has no solid footing.

The mom drama on Hannah's side was great for character growth in Hannah. I loved seeing her learn to stand up for herself against such a toxic woman.
I loved seeing Hannah open up and accept the unconditional freely given love & adoration from Greys family. She truly folded into their mold so well. I was proud of Hannah for allowing that kind of found family into her circle.
I also loved how Hannah pointed out how the people she chose were better for her than the people she was given. That is such a sad life lesson. Truly relatable.

I said this about her first book, and I'll say it again - it's too wordy. No one cares about the day to day monotony within their lives. So much of this book should have been removed. If it didn't further the plot line, X it Out.

Whoever was hired to do the actual editing and/or her beta team failed her miserably. Missing words. Misspelled words. Etc. (I don't mean from American spelling to Canadian spelling like 'color' vs.'colour' i just mean blatant mistakes). This tidbit DOES NOT hinder my review in any way, as those can be fixed for future publications & e-copies.

MATT'S chapter was super jarring. I thought it was Greyson at first until he said he was jealous of another character being set up ... I was like, "Wait a friggin minute."

I don't agree that this is a standalone. You do not understand the relationship dynamic without already knowing the characters from their prior stories. I'm sorry, but the other characters were not properly introduced as if I had never met them before.
