In The Proposal, Cain and Luca are finally approaching their happily ever after. Almost…
Cain Goldberg is a stoic Sadist known in the BDSM community for his icy demeanor. He’s thick-skinned and had the courage to overcome a crippling phobia that prevented him from being intimate with Luca, the man he deeply loves.
Luca Diaz is a sweet, adoring submissive who has been battling his personal demons from a sexual assault three years earlier that left him emotionally hollow without intimacy until Marco came along.
Marco D’Amico, a fiery pastry chef, has loved Luca since he first laid eyes on him and then stupidly let the man slip through his fingers. Now through some magical destiny, Cain brings the three of them together and Marco can’t resist also falling in love with the gorgeous Sadist.
All goes well for the triad until Cain faces the toughest challenge of his life—propose marriage to Luca! The stoic Sadist might have slayed internal demons but Cain has a mini meltdown when he attempts to pop the question!
The gorgeous chef is feeling adrift and on the sidelines as Cain intends to only marry Luca which has Marco considering… Should he leave the triad to search for his own soulmate?
Luca is desperate to marry Cain but he’s also frightened to lose Marco who’s been a romantic partner beginning with all the months that Cain couldn’t touch him.
How can Luca show the two men he adores that their happily ever after is contingent on them staying together?
The Proposal is Book four in the Obedience series based on the same principal characters. It is an MMM romance with age gap, BDSM elements, high angst and a sizzling leadup to their long-awaited HEA in the novella, Christmas Wedding!
I feel at this point that rather than developing the characters, the author is just changing the narrative or dynamics to suit whatever story she wants to tell next. Apparently two recurring side characters are now married but there has been no mention of them even liking each other so where the heck did that come from?* Luca, who has been into pain practically since the beginning is suddenly no longer interested and prefers service submission. There is nothing wrong with either of these developments if they had been done organically but we are just told about them. I’m really only still reading at this point because it was seeing something on instagram for book 7 that drew me to this series (I didn’t know at the time it was book 7) and that’s the one I want to read, although at this point I’m thinking maybe the photo/reel whatever it was is likely to be better than the book.
*I found out there are some spin-off stories not listed numerically within the main series.
